I do believe he was problems with falling asleep, or just sleep in general. Since he has pretty workaholic personality, his brain just can not stop thinking at times. And not thinking at makes him anxious cuz he feels really lonely and out of control.

There have been many times when you catch him at his desk around 2am. It breaks your heart to see him like this.

“Auron, why aren’t you in bed? It’s two in the morning”

“I can’t sleep so, thought I would use this energy for something productive.”

You come to him to hug him from behind, gently resting your lips on his neck.

“I know I know but- you are gonna burn yourself out if you keep working like this.”

You have had enough. You grabbed his hand and dragged him back to the bed room. He realized there is no turning back, he gave up almost instantly. He was tired, that’s true. But his body just couldn’t relax to fall asleep.

He lied down next to you, facing you. The black cycles under his eyes were deepened, his skin was plain without any color what so ever. He literally looked like walking corpse.

“Is it ok if I hold you?”

He took a while to answer. Like he wasn’t sure if he can even fall asleep if he’s on someone’s hands. Well, at least he never tried it. He never really trusted anyone with this. But he did trust you, deeply actually.

He nodded in response. At that same moment, your arms were wrapped around his shoulders, and his head was put into your chest. It was, nice. More than nice actually. Your warmth was pretty comforting on its own. He really thought he could finally fall asleep,

When, you started singing. He couldn’t really tell the name of the song of who the artist was but- it was nice. Extremely nice in fact. Your comforting voice and warm embrace, made him sleepy instantly.

The moment you finally finished the song, he was sound asleep. Quietly snoring in your arms. You smiled for yourself as you pressed a kiss on his forehead,

“Goodnight, my prince”

So like- he knows about how you tend to overwork yourself to an exhaustion. Tbh he does sometimes as well. But he does not want you to experience the “working in your office and waking up in a hospital bed” thing

So he calls you into his office to tell you that you have payed days off. He is willing to do your work in order for you to finally get some rest.

Sorry dear for answering so late. I hope you are doing better.

I don’t think Auron has any personal experience with depression but- I do believe he had a problem with self destructive behavior. Purposely overworking, not sleeping and eating enough etc.

And he’s going to make sure that you get everything you can possibly need. He gives you the opinion to nap in his office, he orders you food that you two eat together. He’s even willing to call out his meeting for ya. Anything to make you feel at least a bit better.

He’s still getting used to affectionate physical contact and he mind not be comfortable with everything (yet). You can expect multiple hugs and kisses.

If you come to his office/room feeling sad, he’s gonna ask you if you want to talk about it. It’s totally ok with him if you say no. He understands. If you do, he will sit down next to ya and listen to every word you have to say.
