"Nice costume"

It was a quiet evening in Bucharest, or so Vladimir had thought when he had asked Stefan to have a walk in the city center. It happened quite often and it relaxed Vladimir because he could pick the best preys, lure them into some dark alley and then share their blood with Stefan. He wanted to do just the same as ever that night, though, once they reached the busiest streets, they started to see many people covered in blood, that was literally all over them. They also had some very odd things such as Egyptian clothing, chains around their ankles, some weird hats, hooks instead of hands. Some of these humans were painted in blue and some in green and some even had colourful hair.

Stefan took Vladimir's hand and the blond understood that he was just as startled as he was. "Emh, Stef, is it me that I'm so thirsty I see blood everywhere or is something going on?". The brunette took his time to ponderate. It was quite a strange situation and he didn't really know what to respond to the other's questions. "I think something's up. As you know, I've never had very good self-control so right now I should be freaking out, which I am not. I can't quite figure this out".

At this point a girl who had blood all over her right shoulder approached them; as she walked towards them they could notice she had some kind of make up on her face that looked like her lips and eyes were stiched together. Her pace was normal and she didn't look as frightened or uncomfortable as people usually were around Vladimir and Stefan. She had a shy smile and with a soft voice she asked Vladimir: "Can I take a picture of you? Your costume's rather awesome. Where did you get those contacts? They look so realistic!". The ancient vampire stared at her with an outraged look. "Excuse me??" He managed to ask in a vaguely human voice. The girl giggled. "Omg you also play the part! You're so cool! You are the most realistic vampire I've ever seen in my entire life! Here" she then handed something to Vladimir who took it without even thinking "have my card, so you can call me once you're out of character" She said, then proceeded to take a picture of Vladimir, who was more outraged than ever, but seeing that they were in a public space he acted with self-control and did not attack anyone. He heard Stefan giggling, so he turned to face him and asked in a very low voice "What's so funny?". All Stefan could say was: "Nice costume", tearing apart the girl's card.

Later that night, Vladimir and Stefan discovered that during this "Halloween" thing it was much easier to find unaware humans to feed on. They did not complain and started to enjoy this festivity.

The First Time Athenodora Told You Something About Her Personal Life Was A Rainy Day In Volterra And

The first time Athenodora told you something about her personal life was a rainy day in Volterra and the two of you decided to wear cute raincoats and boats and go for a walk around the city, Felix and Demetri following shortly after you.

When the two of you approached the park, somehow the conversation got deeper in the blink of an eye. "There has been actually one time when I got scared by Caius's reaction, though it was a long time ago." She stated and you motioned her to continue. "In the middle ages, many ancient Greek statues got destroyed because the bronze they were made of was very useful and needed at the time, for weapons, mostly. I never understood how they were able to destroy something so elegant and pure to make something so shameful.". Athenodora played a little with her hair, twisting and curling it with her pale fingers. "When they destroyed the last standing statue of Policletus, I got angry. I couldn't confront those who had destroyed the statue because they were for a powerful coven. One day I was crying in the library when Caius found me. From the moment he saw my tears, I could see and feel rage growing inside of him. I told him the whole story, and then the following day he left with Aro by his side. they returned one month later, the coven who had destroyed the statue had been slaughtered.".

You were speechless. Of course you had already understood that Caius was full of anger and potentially a very dangerous being, but you never thought he could be triggered by such a little matter.

You looked at Athenodora, who was shaking a little bit. "Hey, Dora, as you said they were a powerful coven, you would have conquered then anyway". She smiled a little and turned her head towards you. "Maybe not as violently as Caius and Aro did in the end". You shrugged. "There's no point in "maybes" and "ifs", Dora".

"It was the first time I got scared by Caius's reaction". She confessed. "He did it because you were hurt, it's understandable" you responded, and she appeared happy with this reply.

"Thank you Y/N, this was a nice talk". You smiled. "Anytime, Dora, anytime".
