do you ever tell yourself that you’re going to do a thing but while you’re doing the thing you realize that you don’t actually know what you’re doing and you’re actually digging yourself deeper into a pit and even though you could totally stop and stop digging yourself into this great pit you’ve made for yourself, a chasm if you will, you keep going because then there would be too many loose ends that someone else would need to tie so you wind up getting to the end and it turns out somewhat ok somehow
anyways here’s a 3 hour bravely default inspired practice speedpaint that turned out somewhat ok somehow
wanted to finish up the lineart for that other piece because i need to be crying profusely to johnny cash to get the mood right but i wound up doing a completely different quick thing because I was too distracted crying profusely to johnny cash to work on the first one and now i’m crying and technically got nothing done c'est la fricking vie i guess

happy 9(days late oh heck)th birthday, bravely default
uhh... how bdhell went. in the second image, the ones in red are unfinished, but that’s pretty obvious.
i wrote up a post on my ko-fi about the story behind this project but td;lr i wanted to make a lot of art based on the soundtrack. i started with the 10 protagonists, then went on to battle themes, plus eternity’s moment (airy), ballad to light (near bottom right corner) and a small one for pico pico battle medley (bottom right corner). and i kind of burned out so hard that i don’t want to work on the ones that aren’t finished for a while.
weirdly enough though i’m really proud of how a lot of these turned out even though they were pretty rushed and i was a complete wreck while i was doing these lol. I learned a hell of a lot, my art has improved because of this, and i’m glad that i had to be more of an overdramatic weirdo than usual.
i should finish these eventually but 1. oh my god i’d like to take my time. maybe finish one a month? and 2. airy and ouroboros have the same composition and its seriously actually bothering me and its the immediate reason why i rage quit in the first place.
i’ll be back tomorrow for a normal wrapped thing i guess but i wanted to send off this project before the year ends (it goes into the dumpster fire it once spawned from)
