The muffled sound of your roommate and his best friend laughing in the kitchen can be heard through your bedroom wall, a smile spreading across your face when you hear Hoseok’s telltale joyous laugh, no doubt in the middle of telling a story.
You rake your fingers through your hair once more, fluffing it up and stepping back from the mirror to give yourself a once over, your hands tugging down on the tight dress you had on. The black shiny latex hugging your curves in all the right spots and you smirk as excitement fills you when you think of the dumb shit you and your best friend Rina were going to get into tonight.
In the kitchen Hoseok pours another shot for himself and Jungkook, the two of them energized at going out tonight as well, the video game demo they had been working on at work had gotten approved, being given the green light to move further into it so they would be celebrating tonight. The rest of his friends were set to arrive at your shared apartment for some pregame drinks before they left to their designated bar of choice.

You were wet, hair stuck to your forehead, work shirt clinging to your body in the most uncomfortable way, water sloshing out of your shoe with every step you took. Absolutely drenched.
Really, you were starting to wonder if luck was on your side today at all. You had mistakenly assumed it was your day off so you slept well past 8am, being rudely awoken by your coworker calling to tell you to hurry your ass over before your boss got there. All day you had dealt with rude customers, your boss telling everyone that a few of you would be getting let off, way too sweetly by the way, and to top it off when you finally clocked out it was pouring so hard you were sure you’d have to swim home.
The only thing keeping you from face planting onto the slowly over flooding streets and letting fate take over was your boyfriend’s warm apartment which was only a few blocks away.

The bubbling water is the only thing you focus on as you rest against the countertop, hands tightly holding onto your fluffy blanket of choice to trap all of the warmth in before it could escape. The rhythmic pattering of rain against the windows has become background noise now, already accustomed to the sound that woke you up hours ago.
It’s therapeutic really, your fuzzy socks sliding along the floor as you pull out your favorite mug, grabbing the hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows from their rightful spot in the pantry. You don’t even think about the ridiculous electric bill you’ll be getting from how high you currently have the heater cranked up, freezing to death was not worth saving a few bucks.
