Butches can wear nail polish. Butches can wear makeup. Butches can like 'feminine' things. Butches can be men. Butches can be genderless. Butches can be non-lesbians.
'I support nonbinary lesbians!' motherfuckers when the nonbinary person in question is a man in any way: tells the person to kill themself, how they're invading lesbian spaces, how their identity doesn't exist and isn't valid, 'men can't be lesbians!', screaming and crying about how they're lesbiphobic and transphobic for existing, 'you just hate lesbians don't you, that's why you're pushing for acceptance of your own identity!', calls them disgusting and sickening, throws around blatant misandrist comments, claims they're the reason lesbiphobic straight men think they have a chance of 'fixing' lesbians, 'oh well you're not an ACTUAL man, so it's okay!', crosses into borderline TERF territory, becomes an actual TERF, etc.
Yeah, I can feel the support radiating off of my screen. /sarcasm
"I support trans people!" quick, are you normal about the concept of transandrophobia? Do you think it's just 'white men trying to be oppressed'? Do you brush it off as merely misdirected transmisogyny? Do you scoff at the struggles of trans men and go 'but trans women have it worse! talk to a trans woman and see how bad THEY have it!'?
Do you use a trans man's chest size as an excuse for constant misgendering? Do you hold transmasculine people to a standard of needing to be feminine so to not scare the women, but proceed to not take their gender seriously if they do perform femininity? Do you use your horribly veiled misandry as an excuse to make trans men feel unsafe in queer spaces?
Are you normal about AFAB transfems and AMAB transmascs? Intersex trans people? GNC trans people? Trans people who use xenogenders? Trans people who use it/its or other neopronouns? She/her transmascs and he/him transfems? Can you acknowledge that, sometimes, people are simultaneously transmasc and transfem? Do you accept transmasc women, transfem men, etc?
Do you invalidate the identities of trans women who have beards, or present 'masculinely'? Do you see them as predatory posers? Do you go out of your way to misgender trans women who happen to actually be predators, because 'clearly they were just men'? Do you shame trans women for exploring their sexuality?
Are autistic trans people not able to make decisions on their own transition, as far as you're concerned? Are our ways of expressing and seeing gender 'stupid' to you? Is the concept of autigender too 'insane' to you? Do you see our gender identities as simply jokes?
Can you survive being around a trans man lesbian or a veldian (link) trans woman? Can you support a multigender person who is both gay AND lesbian? Can you include transmasculine nonbinary people in your 'support' of nonbinary lesbians?
I've used the term 'conditional support' a few times, but it is very much conditional support if you explode over one trans person's identity, and then turn around and act all supportive of another's. If all it takes for you not to support a trans person is how they label their gender or sexuality, how they present, what their body looks like, etc, you are not supportive of trans people! Your 'support' is very limited and strict. You have one rigid idea of what trans people are 'supposed' to be, and anyone who deviates isn't valid or worthy, and that is NOT the kind of behavior an ally should exhibit. It is not the way you treat other trans people, and it is far from supportive.
if you want to enforce rules on everyone's sexuality and gender, I think you'd get along very well with queerphobic conservatives as you have similar interests. You'd just have to make sure they don't stop seeing you as one of the good ones and you'll be fine... probably. Just continue throwing the rest of the queer community under the bus and I'm sure they'll tolerate you for a little bit.
honestly I think it may be banned because of how reactionary of a topic it is, unfortunately. It's very likely a precaution to 'maintain the peace'. It still sucks though don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the mods all hold binarist expectations of orientation when they have a server to run
Are you kidding me. Imagine putting a marginalized identity on a "banned topics" list because it doesn't fit into your binarist expectations of orientation and gender.
looking at people who advocate for trans people labeling their sexuality and experiences however they want and calling it TERF rhetoric is wild. Do you not realize that queer freedom is the exact opposite of what TERFs want, let alone trans freedom? TERF rhetoric is claiming all trans men who are into women are lesbians because they're assumedly female, it is erasing the experiences of intersex and POC women because it doesn't fit their white, dyadic centric, and bio essentialist idea of womanhood, it's calling trans women men because the assumedly have dicks. TERF rhetoric is NOT someone saying lesboys are valid, it's not the validation of any queer identity YOU don't like and fail to understand.
Saying that trans men can be lesbians does not mean all woman attracted trans men are lesbians. That's ridiculous. "Well, you said members of this group can be part of another, so clearly you're saying all members of this group are part of that group now." Let me introduce you to the concept of individuality; one person's experiences with their sexuality will not match someone else's, even if they have similar gender identities. I know, it's crazy to think that there's diversity within the queer community (sarcasm).

I'm not going to pick between being comfortable in my body and being a lesbian because someone doesn't understand my identity. Trans lesbians don't owe you a look or a certain gender identity. Butches don't owe you womanhood either. Get over it.
'trans men have the lesbian label forced on them when they're heterosexual' and 'trans men can be lesbians' are concepts that do coexist. The point here, for anyone who may have missed it, is that identity is up to the individual and not what someone else decides for them, which includes forcing a trans man to identify as straight when they don't identify as such. You cannot be willing to dismantle the expectations of sex and gender without the will to let go of your little rules to sexuality. Things just happen that don't fit preconceived boxes, get over it.

'I am a man, and I am also a lesbian. my identity is wonderfully complex; my lesbianism doesn't cancel out my manhood, nor does my manhood change the queerness of my attraction to women.'
