Being a slow eater, you've always considered it a blessing. Because you get to savour the taste of the food, not rushing it, and genuinely enjoying it. But sometimes, with Vernon, you question it.
Is it really a blessing?
Because during dates, you would take the first bite of your food and he is already half-way munching on his. Then he'd sit there waiting for you, and you hate that. You feel the need to hurry up, so he won't feel awkward.
"Don't worry, I'm waiting. Eat slowly."
He'd always reassure you, knowing how you feel. But damn, you're already slow enough. You'd have to be a snail to slow it even more.
As soon as your food arrives at the table, you pick up the fork, ready to munch on it and Vernon is already taking his third bite.
So you just stare at him like (·•᷄ࡇ•᷅ ), "have you been hungry since last month?"
And he'd stare back like ( ˙◁˙ ), "huh?"
Vernon would sometimes even order another plate, just so you wouldn't feel awkward.
Or sometimes even taking a bite of his food after every two minutes so you both will finish up together.
You'd be confused, because you didn't eat fast. So how did you both finish together?
"Why do I feel like you didn't even take a bite of your food for like five minutes..."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
And he'd shrug it off, like he did nothing.
Gaslighting you to think that he just became a slow snail like you.
But, hey! He just wants to make you feel better about being a slow eater. There's nothing wrong with being a slow eater!
"Babe you know we have the whole day. Even tomorrow. So slow down, please,"
"We have to leave in five minutes!"

Opening the door is stood your boyfriend with a tired smile on his face, and you are met with a tight hug. "Missed you", he whispers into your skin. You giggle in return of the ticklish sensation. "Same here, I'll run a bubble bath for you" you reply as your try to wiggle out of his strong embrace. "One more sec", he says.
Laying on the bed you think how hard it must've have been for your boyfriend to perform all those songs and choreos. As you are lost in your thoughts the bed dips on the other side. A hand is placed on your stomach, "I thought you couldn't sleep while cuddling", you say. Me mumbles something like, "Just for tonight" and falls asleep. You smile when you see his sleeping face, and it's not long before you drift to the land of dreams.
