It’s tough, because everyone is entitled to their opinions and everyone is entitled to their beliefs … but if the opinions and feelings are rooted in denying certain people basic human rights, I’ve got a problem with that.

he's so pretty

long hair and smooth skin

flat planes of muscle where i have curves

he wears waistcoats and dress pants as formal attire

instead of dresses that never seem to fit quite right

his hands are strong and sure

instead of slightly out of place

glittery painted nails a show of brave defiance

rather than a shield for insecurity to dwell behind

i see his face in the mirror before me

the image of an angel rising from the glass

if only my skin could be shaped like clay

molded perfectly to his likeness

maybe one day

i'll be pretty the way he is.
