batriddler au where edward and bruce are neighbours. edward becomes obsessed with him but bruce doesn’t know that yet. edward, in an attempt to romance him, leaves flirty, suggestive cards—generic, though. not with his handwriting because he’s scared. he's flighty, he knows. he can barely talk to bruce without confessing. so he'll take his time and make edward fall in love and at the end, he’ll announce that it was him the whole time! and bruce will realise they’re perfect together and they complete each other and bruce will say that he loves him, of course, and they’ll move in together, and he hasn’t figured out who’s going to which unit, but it’s probably him moving to bruce’s since his would be better than the state he keeps his apartment in and—he’s getting carried away.
but instead of falling in love with the card-sender, bruce does the opposite. edward doesn’t know this and confesses anyway. and when bruce tells him he doesn’t reciprocate, edward locks himself in his apartment for days. a crash can be heard every so often from the outside.
bruce, feeling a little guilty because yeah, edward was a little creepy occasionally and the cards definitely were, but in the end there was no harm done with it—so he goes to make amends.
once inside, edward stands behind him. but before he can notice, something blunt and heavy hits the back of his head.
when he wakes up, he's bound.
high school au of the batman where riddlebat happens and ed is the most obnoxious teenager ever. he bags bruce wayne and he's going to let everybody know about it. PDA everywhere, no sense of shame in him, not one bit. bruce still has some semblance of propriety and it's the only reason they haven't been called to the principal's office—though they're really pushing their luck.
