But really, these points are all things used to say Cloud and Tifa are together in Advent Children, but Cloud isn't raising Marlene or wearing a ring. Like I have literally seen people talking how Cloud and Tifa are in-canon engaged, when they really aren't.
I know the rings are very flimsy as "ship proof" anyway, because Denzel is wearing a ring like that around his neck. I think the implication is, that Tifa, Barret and Cloud got the rings for their family/original Avalanche members, but when Cloud left, he gave his ring to Denzel.
idk I just wanted to draw some Barrifa. I generally like them as BFF co-parents but that is such a solid foundation for a relationship, too, it’s a shame it’s not a more popular pairing.

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive: Tifa. Barret’s a bit of a lightweight.
Takes care of on sick days: They both do, and Marlene likes to help.

Gives unprompted massages: Tifa. Barret isn’t much of a masseuse due to the fact that one of his arms is made of metal, and it makes Tifa cold. Plus, Tifa gives really good massages.

Brings the other lunch at work: Tifa. Barret sometimes purposely forgets to bring his lunch because Tifa’s cooking tastes best when it’s hot.
Has the better parental relationship: Neither. Both of their parents are dead. But I feel like both of them probably had good relationships with their parents back in the day.
Tries to start role-playing in bed: Barret. I picture Tifa not being the most adventurous person in bed.
Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Barret. Tifa thinks it’s hilarious.
Still cries watching Titanic: Tifa
Firmly believes in couples costumes: Tifa. Barret thinks the idea is really dumb, but he goes along with it because Tifa enjoys it.
Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Barret. He likes to spoil his girls.
Makes the other eat breakfast: Tifa. Barret is always in a bit of a rush in the morning.
Remembers anniversaries: They both do.
Brings up having kids: Marlene would mention it to both of them.
Pfffft, people saying "People ship Barret/Tifa just to get Tifa away from Cloud and use Barret as trash can!" (Actual tweet I saw) instead of, you know...
The fact that Barret and Tifa live together in og, before AC and after.
They raise Marlene together (in CoT, Tifa introduces Marlene to people as her daughter and says it was naturally her, and Barret's Marlene's dad.)
Barret cheering up Tifa in og, wondering where's "the tough girl he used to know" is.
In og, Tifa knowing Barret well enough to say he's doing better when Aerith wonders about it.
They're the only ones wearing matching wolf-rings in AC.
Remake, oh gods, the Remake, Barret managing to comfort Tifa after the plate fall! 👏

Tifa managing to calm down Barret when he's ready to go caps lock and them actually talking about it, explaining their views!
In the shinra building elevator, Barret actually talks to Tifa about the subject when she's feeling bad for normal shinra employees, instead of changing the subject to Aerith like Cloud does.
Barret and Tifa share so much, mutual respect and communicate well with each other and can sympathize with each other, it's beautiful.

*just bashing about how people ship it because clerith and how "you shouldn't, Barret is Tifa's father figure!" (Wtf...) And...
The difference here, is very simple. Unlike Tifa, who calls Marlene her daughter, Cloud isn't raising Marlene, Cloud has never said to be Marlene's father. Barret doesn't stop being her father when he's on basically a business trip. 😂
(Before someone mentions Marlene calling Cloud and Tifa her parents in CoT, don't, because that line was added by english translator.)

What is with Square writing about Tifa's underwear?! ...But it's left ambiguous is Barret nervous/embarrassed seeing that, or just nervous of money missing, that saves the little moment.
This is really cute, coming back from the Lifestream, everyone else in the party is around Cloud, except Barret, who's next to Tifa.

I just realized barrifa and clerith have similar character dynamics.
Angsty shy person with more energetic positive (and more mature) person, but who also hides angst.

In Remake, Tifa says she's been approximately 5 years in Midgar, Marlene's 4, so they met when Tifa's 18. And she's the one who provided for them! She wants to buy 7th heaven just so Marlene and Barret can have a home. That's sweet.

1.What made you ship it?
What made me think about it, was the moment in my replay of the og where Tifa's down/worried and Barret is worried about that.
But what finally really made me ship it was the Remake, Barret comforting Tifa when the plate fell when I was begging someone, even Cloud, to comfort her. 👌 Then reading case of tifa again and noticing how Tifa learns to make drinks specifically with Barret's old home place's alcohol and Tifa introduces Marlene as her daughter, so she's their daughter.
2.What are your favorite things about the ship?
How they actually communicate their thoughts and feelings, and manage to comfort each other, they feel equal. (*cough* Unlike Cloud and Tifa *cough*)
3.Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I don't know, possibly the whole ship is unpopular opinion, but I really think Barret and Tifa make a more wholesome relationship than cloti.

People on twitter being like "You can't ship Barret and Tifa, Barret is like Tifa's father!" Based on nothing in-canon except character ages...
In case of tifa, Tifa is starting to feel like a mother to Cloud here, I guess we can't ship cloti anymore. (I'm just pointing out argument flaw here, especially since nothing like this happens between barret and tifa.)
Also, this is cute that to Marlene, her family is Barret and Tifa, and their friends. And Tifa learns to make drinks with Corel alcohol, which is cute because Corel was Barret's hometown.
