"You never watched a movie?" Maggie asked. There was no mockery or anything like that in her voice, just curiosity and possibly a little confusion, she had thought of him to be someone who also liked to watch movies. She then laughed slightly at Ryan's reasoning for naming a crow 'Raven'. "That's definitely a way to mess with people, I have to say."
She watched the crows again for a moment before turning back to Ryan. "Well then, I'm curious to hear what other names you have up your sleeve. You can tell me about them while we're swinging," she laughed again and pointed over as she started to walk over to the swings. "I'm sure it will be fun and interesting. Let's see which one of us can get higher."
As she got to the swings, she immediately sat down on one of them and looked at Ryan, waiting for him to sit down too and for both of them to start swinging at the same time.

Maggie was sitting in a park under a tree writing in her diary. She was new in town and once again new at the school. This and the fact that she didn't interacted much with the others and kept more to herself led to the point that the other kids liked to pick on her, calling her weird and strange.
She didn't cared. She was used to it being the new girl at school and she was used to being treated that way. It wasn't like she tried to be this 'mysterious girl' with secrets how they called her, or to be the stuff from which horror stories were made of. She just didn't liked talking to people that much.
Maggie preferred the silence and being by herself so there were fewer things that could trigger her, or more that could trigger what was slumbered inside her, always trying to break free. It was better this way, safer. For everyone.
She was so engrossed in her writing that she didn't noticed the people around her or what was happening around her.

"Oh, don't worry about him. I'm sure he'll be happy about it… He's not that 'introverted' when it comes to other people. I think if he had his way, everyone would be his friend," laughed Maggie, amused.
She looked over at Ryan with a big grin. "It's fun, right?" It wasn't hard to miss how much fun he was having and his emotions would be extremely contagious even without her ability. "And about the photo, I take it as a promise!" She laughed and accelerated again so she could rock even higher and faster.
"I actually have no idea how the name came about," Maggie joked about the name Mother Hen. "But it's good to know that you're so imaginative, then from today on you can help me find good names. The others aren't really good at it... or care about it that much."
Finally reaching the top, Maggie rocked so high that she almost flipped over the beam, giggling at Mother Hen's reaction. Yes, it was more than clear why he had named the crow Mother Hen.
While they were swinging, Maggie didn't notice how time passed by as the sun slowly began to set. Suddenly the crows around them began to become more and more restless. Some kept crowing and others began to fly away as if they were making room as the wind seemed to get stronger around the playground.
Leaves, dust and feathers of the crows were thrown together until they formed a small tornado at the middle of the playground, which blocked the view of what was about to come.
It all happened so quickly that there was barely time to react when suddenly a pale-looking boy with jet-black hair appeared, right where the tornado was. He didn't seem to be much older than Maggie and Ryan themselves, his expression was emotionless and at the same time serious and cold. The aura that surrounded him seemed angry and annoyed and at the same time worried but also relieved. The stranger just stared at Maggie, not seeming to pay any attention to Ryan.
Right at the moment when the stranger appeared in front of them, Maggie abruptly stopped the swing and looked over at him. "Shit…" she cursed quietly. The crows that had previously sat calmly around them now flew around the black-haired man and circled him, crowing. On the boy's shoulder another crow sat down, which spread its wings and flapped them briefly, crowing loudly as if it were scolding.
"Enough!" Growled the stranger, causing the crows to suddenly fall silent and fly away as if on command until the playground was empty except for Maggie, Ryan, the stranger and the crow on his shoulder. The stranger's cold gaze lingered on Maggie but didn't said a single word.

"Hey Corvus," Maggie grinned innocently, "what are you doing here?" she asked after a short pause, to which Corvus merely growled quietly. It was clear that he wasn't exactly the talkative type. Instead of saying anything, his previously fixed gaze briefly wandered over to Ryan but then straight back to Maggie when he realized he was no threat. Corvus went to the side slightly, his gaze still on Maggie, as if he was indicating that he was making room for her to go forward.
"I think I have to go now…" Maggie said quietly as she looked over at Ryan. "Shall we meet tomorrow in front of school? We can walk to classes together then and you can meet Finch," Maggie suggested as she stood up. "Afterwards we can go back to the park or come straight here to the playground and talk about the movie night."

"Sounds like a plan," Maggie nodded with a smile. "See you tomorrow then," she said her goodbye with a wave before walking towards Corvus. Maggie looked briefly at Ryan once again and then disappeared with Corvus just as suddenly as Corvus had appeared before.
The next day, Maggie sat on the steps to the school and waited for Ryan. Next to her, another boy, only a bit older than her, with black-green hair was leaning against the wall and was also looking around, even though he had no idea what Ryan looked like.
At some point, Maggie looked up briefly and saw Ryan walking towards the school. With a smile, she stood up, brushed the dust off her clothes and waved to Ryan. "Hey," she called out to Ryan to greet him. "There you are. I already thought you wouldn't come."
The other boy then also looked in the direction and looked closely at Ryan. Finally, a wide, friendly grin spread across his lips as he and Maggie walked towards Ryan.
"That's-" Maggie started, but was immediately interrupted by the other. "Sam Finch, or just Finch, or Finn, or Sam… or whatever you like. I react to almost anything," Finch chattered away in a friendly manner, offering Ryan his hand. Sam himself didn't seem to have even a hint of hostility or malice, as if he were the embodiment of kindness, cheerfulness, trust and familiarity. Sam seemed to shine brighter than the sun itself.
