Unless someone can prove to me that this is a legitimate late-game sweep, I’m very tempted to disqualify any votes for this poll coming in after 2am Friday, and give the win to Lloyd. I may have said it jokingly before, but I am the referee. No one is rigging my polls with bots or bribes in my house. This whole war has been fun to watch and mess around with, but the law must be laid.

ok so. the main driving force for the onslaught of lloyd voters was tiktok, not just ppl in the ninjago fandom space. now that those tiktok ppl are gone, the number of lloyd voters is obviously gonna be less. ESPECIALLY considering the size of classics tumblr. i get that there were concerns in the first round bc of the behavior of some of the antigone fans but like. at this point ninjago fans are being unreasonable. take the loss with some grace LMFAO
Instead of answering the several news asks concerned about bots again, I’ll just say here:
The swiftness with which votes have been coming in for this poll seem, in my opinion, perfectly believable. Specifically, I was told of someone watching roughly 150 votes new votes come in over 10 minutes, but in the context of how the rest of the entire competition has gone, to me that just seems regularly plausible. Especially considering how in the first moments of the poll going up, at midnight, it had already garnered 32 votes in 5 minutes. Again, at a time of day when a large percentage of the voters would’ve been unavailable.
Considering the circumstances—people knew about this 2 days in advance, it’s already the talk of both fandoms, everyone voting themselves would tell everyone they know to vote immediately, and everyone knows that this one only has 24 hours—I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion of more fraud.
I don’t want to drag out this war forever, and this was the only solution that seemed remotely fair to both fandoms, in any capacity. So whoever wins this poll, and with whatever speed, that’s the winner. End of discussion.
Sidenote: I do have answers for some other asks I’ve gotten, but I don’t want to post anything else until the poll ends.

oh my GOD i'm so glad! i loved the paul woodruff translation of Antigone and would love to know what you think! I thought it was so interesting how he was saying that some scholars believe that Sophocles is inconsistent and bad at characterization because his characters often say one thing and do the other, because I totally disagree with those scholars! Sophocles is so good at writing characters (such as Antigone herself) who are so compelling because they aren't always consistent- instead they are complicated people who have multiple conflicting motivations. Haemon is such an interesting example of this in particular- I love how in the Woodruff translation he's initially very cool and laid back about Antigone being put to death but as the play goes on it's slowly revealed how much he cares about her. Audiences/ readers love being pleasantly surprised and I think that Sophocles' characters are always pleasantly surprising us!
ok so the quote which is "save yourself" "I'll be so lonely" is something I resonate with since for a majority of my life I have deliberately made decisions that made life harder for me because the idea of living with myself for making the other one always seemed like such a task
