And Tendency To Speak In The Third Person When Actin As Count Bleck - Tumblr Posts

Some thoughts about Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario since I just beat the game today (spoilers below the cut)

Ok so Count Bleck right - that's pseudonym and his real name is Blumiere. He always speaks in the third person - up until Tippi/Timpani reveals she still exists and knows his name This is so interesting to me because why does he always feel the need to be narrating himself as Count Bleck it's always him being like 'Count Bleck will fulfill the prophecy from the Dark Prognosticus' and stuff like that I feel like he's trying to separate this false identity from himself like oh it's not really me it's /Count Bleck/ he's trying to get rid of his old identity and make sure no one remembers or knows that the Count Bleck who destroyed all worlds was really Blumiere that he wasn't the guy who fell in love and whose beloved vanished one day he was just Count Bleck and that's all he thought he would or could be now that he'd lost hope in the world and in his life

and like it's not just his way of talking because after his true identity is revealed he stops doin the third person thing

anyways thoughts (also that little scene at the end where two people - presumably Blumiere and Timpani- walk off over the hill is great because they did get to be together! Who knows where but they're together and finally able to both be their true selves and be happy like they wanted to be so long ago)
