it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.

My (not) girl went through so muchhh
And thinking about her still makes me go INSANE

Her sister went missing and was assumed dead
but Rian started having visions of her
and she thought she was going crazy
and nearly ran away from home
AND THEN
she finds out decades later that her beloved mentor KNEW
that she KNEW that Rian wasn't going crazy but just didn't tell her
but by then its too late
because Rian set out on their journey to save their family
but it was too late by the time they left
and they never could have saved anyone
it was doomed from the start
and they had to witness their family and culture get genocided
and then she couldn't save her continent from rapid magical climate change
ahhhhhh
if anybody wants to hear me rant about Mithrain please let me know because she deserves all the love in the world
she is doing her best
and the pressure on her from the rest of the party
because she was seen as the unfailing moral guide
and that was so much pressure for a lil 100 year old baby elf
just never being able to screw up
always having to compromise
ahhhh
