So I was listening to my Varigo playlist today, and Stupid With Love from Mean Girls came on. Since I am a strong believer in Hugo Fell First, I always thought he was the one singing. But then the lyric “He’s like those guys who give out roses to those women” came on, and the mental image was too funny so I had to draw it.
Like, sorry Hugo Varian is in no way that suave in real life. So then I drew what h really looked like.
All in all, one of my favorite Varigo drawings I’ve done.

At some point during the trials, Nuru catches Hugo staring at Varian. This conversation ensues.
Nuru: What’re you looking at?
Hugo: (startled) Nuru! Hi. I didn’t see you there. Nothing, I’m not looking at anything.
Nuru: Then why is your face all red?
Hugo: It is? I mean… I was sitting too close to the fire. Yeah, and I got too warm, and that is why I am over here.
Nuru: (raises an eyebrow) You like him, don’t you?
Hugo: (panicked) What? Like who, I don’t like anyone, that’s ridiculous! (sighs) Yeah. I really do.
Nuru: Oh my god I can’t believe I got you to admit it!
Hugo: Wha-
Nuru: Hey! Yong! Hugo just said-
Hugo slaps his hands over her mouth, and glares at her.
Hugo: (quietly) Are you insane? He’s right there!
Nuru grins from behind Hugo’s hands.
Nuru: Just so you know, I’m never letting you live this down. You will forever be The Guy Who Likes Varian in my memories.
Hugo slumps down and covers his face with his hands
Hugo: Please don’t tell him.
Nuru: (grins) No way! Watching you try to tell him is way funnier!
Hugo: (muttering) Thanks.
Ok, everyone needs to go read this if you haven't. (or if you have, re-read! it's great every time!) Varigo superhero fic, it's great, just re-read it for the third time, and still cried. It's so fucking good.
