AU where Tom is basically Rocky Balboa but quit boxing after the events in the movies to live with his wife Sabine.

Maybe Roland didn’t agree with his drastic career change to a bakery. That makes their falling out much more plausible if you ask me.

Marinette has lots of hidden muscle that is defined by her suit - which would probably be more practical and have bandages around the hands and a headpiece. Tom would teach her boxing moves and how to deal heavy hits.

Ladybug absolutely floors Anansi, who hands over her akuma in respect (when seeing the boxing gloves her Lucky Charm gave she grinned). After, she offers Nora advice on boxing as Marinette, revealing who her father is.

The events in Weredad happen the same, except Chat Noir is much more beaten up and exhausted from the fight they have. At the end of the episode, he learns who her father is and gulps.

Tom gives Adrien lessons whenever he can because he cannot stand seeing the boy so skinny. Sabine just watches in the background, muttering something about a ‘Creed’.

Lila’s plot to expel Marinette absolutely fails because the fact that she didn’t get a concussion (or at the very least a broken bone) from a push from the daughter of a boxer made her tale hard to believe. Kim can contest since he got quite the injury in an arm wrestle with her years ago. Tom refuses to believe Lila since he taught his little girl how to do so much more damage to her opponents.

That day is the day that Lila reconsiders ruining Marinette’s life.

Chat Noir is much more flustered around Ladybug, and has to stop himself many times from asking her to fling him across the horizon. The Ladyblog catches his blushing and gets many comments about how many would be too in his situation. Marinette turns red when Alya shows her them.

One last detail I want to add to this AU is that Marinette has shorter hair for her convenience. I’m thinking it’s in a long bob, similar to Kagami’s, but it reaches no farther down than her shoulders.

Kagami also respects her for her fighting skills. Tomoe allows them to hang out together when learning of her heritage and parents.

Maybe this could lead to Adrien x Marinette x Kagami?

Marinette the Very Good Friend.

DON’T LET THE TITLE DECEIVE YOU. I’M NOT CRACKING A MEAN ADRIENETTE JOKE. I SWEAR. 

I’ll be discussing the Adrigaminette content based on the new trailer and presenting a new theory about what’s going on!

I know a lot of people think Marinette has dragged Kagami over to fawn over at Adrien in that one particular scene.

But-

Consider this possibility. 

What if she isn’t doing that?

What if there’s a much more valid reason why they’re at the swimming pool?

See, we all know that at the end of Lies, Kagami and Adrien ended their relationship on super rough terms. Unlike the Lukanette breakup, they couldn’t smooth things over, because Kagami was deeply hurt by Adrien’s lies at the end, she’s not Luka, much more straightforward, doesn’t believe in second chances. To her, it’s impossible for her to imagine continuing any sort of connection with Adrien after being hurt that badly.

And Adrien. He’s eager to make friends. Eager to stay in touch with people. Afraid of loss. And he didn’t want to necessarily break things off like that. But he’s nice. Shy. Socially awkward. He gave Kagami space.

The problem now is that there’s this huge bubble of tension between the two. I doubt they can interact even as friends. Kagami’s just too upset. And Adrien’s too nice and he’s trying to give her space. And even if they want to interact. Want to fix things. They’re too socially awkward to do that. They’re sheltered kids with little experience in a social environment.

Thinking about it. This awkward bubble of tension is probably the biggest challenge they’ve ever faced so far. They don’t know how to deal with it. Even if they want to patch things up. They don’t know how. Because this is all super new to them.

This is where Marinette comes in.

Marinette, their very good friend.

Someone that they can both rely on. Both trust. Both enjoy spending time with.

Someone who does know better. And someone who can give them a push.

I’m sure like the Lukanette breakup, news of the Adrigami breakup has broken out as well. And I feel like, Marinette, being the kind of person she is, would reach out to Kagami in this situation. Check on her. Especially after how she was akumatized in Lies as well.

And Kagami, who isn’t very discrete, quite blunt does give away how hurt she feels from the breakup, and maybe even how she wished it had worked out, and that she didn’t necessarily wanted to stop interacting with Adrien, but had to.

Something of that sort happens. 

Despite Marinette’s own feelings for Adrien, I’d feel like she’d subside them here. And help Kagami fix her relationship with Adrien. Help them become friends again. She feels that Kagami would need a little push.

So they go to the swimming pool together where they know Adrien will be. Or they’re just hanging out there already and see Adrien.

Marinette decides to give Kagami a little push,

Help her sort out things with Adrien.

If you observe they’re body language closely, it doesn’t have to be deciphered as Marinette fawning.

But rather Marinette reassuring Kagami. Encouraging her. With her hand on her shoulder and all.

And Kagami’s face isn’t just pure pain. It’s concern, worry, anxiety. Everything. 

Of course, she’s scared to face Adrien again. Even if she wants to, she’s still hurt.

And that’s why Marinette is there. To encourage her. To be her friend. To give Kagami a push. 

Regardless of her feelings for Adrien.

Why? Because Marinette’s a very good friend. 

Those exact lines were the ones that Adrien told Kagami in Riposte. Her debut episode.

Those exact lines carried the entirety of Ikari Gozen. Helped Kagami believe she could befriend Marinette.

The words aren’t just plain words. They have meaning behind them. And Marinette constantly proves herself to be a good friend.

Romantic feelings aside, friendship is really important. And the show has been trying to tell us that since day one. 

Kagami and Adrien being very good friends to Marinette showcases that friendship can beat a teen love triangle.
