Holiday Special: The Twelve Months of Transformation
[Part 1 of 12]
(Inspired by Tim Allen in the Santa Claus)

January
Nick started the day like every morning that came before him. He woke, up, took a shower, got dressed, ate something healthy, and went to work.
His life felt very predictable. And, in all honesty, Nick loved it. He worked hard to make sure his life turned out they way he wanted it to. At the age of 35, he was already a successful business man. He lived a comfortable life in one of the most expensive cities in the country.
But, something caught Nick off gaurd. As he brushed his teeth, Nick checked himself out, as he always does. That is when Nick spotted it. On his head lied a single strand of grey hair.
Nick's heart sank. I can't be going grey, I'm too young, he screamed in his mind. But, he quickly calmed himself down. I'm am getting older, he thought to himself. It's okay of my hair goes grey. I think I can pull it off. Plus, it's probably all this stress of being promoted to a senior position. I just gotta relax some more.
Nick spent the next few minutes playing with the strand of grey hair. Trying to hide it and blend it into the remaining jet black hair.
As the month continued, the rest of his hair started to lose it's sheen. Becoming more duller. More grey hair started to appear on the sides of his head. So, I'm going grey, he thought to himself. But, instead of panicking, he just tried to except that this was his life now.
He tried to embrace it. But, his friends made it hard. "Damn, dude that stressful job must be killing you. It already draining the life from your hair. You even look like you should be in your forties." They laughed.
But, they were telling the truth. The grey hair was affecting him more than he would like to admit. He couldn't understand why. Even his job that he loved, became more of a chore. His friends where even right about him looking older. Whether it was subconscious or not, his body even began to feel older.
The last straw was an experience he had buying a new suit. Buying a new suit always made him feel better. He looked around until he saw this red and white suit. He felt deep in his heart that he needed it. So, on the spot he told the cashier to ring it up for him.
As, Nick waited to pay he noticed the price of the suit was less than what was on the price tag. "Is there some kind of special going on, right now" He asked hoping this meant he could by another suit without going over his monthly suit budget.
The cashier that must have been in their late 20's looks up at him. "Yes sir, I already applied the silver fox special to your order."
"The Silver Fox Special, Dan?" Nick stuttered out.
"Oh, I thought you already knew about the specia.l. Yes, we are currently have a special going on for our valubale customers 40 and over."
"Thank you, I guess." Nick awkwardly laughed. He didn't want to show how bothered he was for being mistaken for a man in his 40s. Nick paid for the suit and speed out of the store. He stopped by a convenient store and bought some hair dye. He never felt more thankful for the self-checkout line then he he did at that moment.
He got home, washed his graying hair, and applied the dye to his hair. After waiting for time to pass, he washed out the dye and smile to see jet black hair cover his whole head once again. He was even happier to see himself looking his age, again. Damn it's weird how much older the grey hair made me look, Dan thought to himself. I guess dying my hair has to be added to the schedule, now.
Nick set a monthly reminder in his phone: Buy more hair dye.

February
As January came to an end, Nick's graying hair problem worsened. The dye that he used on his hair became less and less effective. By the beginning of February, Nick had to literally dye his hair everyday.
It would be the first thing he did every morning. And, by night time, his salt and peppered hair would be back. In just a week he spent over 100 dollars on hair dye. I can't keep going like this, he thought to himself. But, I have to. I can't let whatever is happening to me... beat me.
He hated that this was bothering him so much. He wished he could just except that his hair was going grey. But, he couldn't. He even brought it up to his younger girlfriend. "What it's natural for and old man to get grey hair." She jokingly laugh.
"I'm not old... I'm only 35... 5 years older than you." Nick replied in frustration. He was upset that his girlfriend wasn't taking this seriously.
"Calm down... you just gotta make sure to by permanent hair dye. Not the stuff that can just wash out." She tried ti reassure Nick.
Nick just sighed feeling crazy. I have been buy permanent hair dye, he thought to himself.
The next day he woke up to start the daily hair dying process. More hair on the side of his head was turning white. The hair on the top of his head was losing more sheen with more white hair starting to sprinkled in. Instead of the jet black hair he once had, it was now a dark charcoal gray. He sighed feeling defeated.
He looked around for his dye. But, he couldn't find it. Amongst the choas, he noticed something. Maybe he's been to stress to see it before. But, his hair was a lot longer and shaggy than it should have been. Making his graying hair more prominent.
The it hit him. He wasn't sure why he hadn't thought of it before. He decided to go to his barber. Maybe he would have a solution for his gray hair.
His hair raced as he realized this was the first time seeing his barber with his now graying hair. "Damn what kinda of dye job do you get." His barber shouted as Nick walked into the shop.
"It's not a dye job... my hair is going grey." Nick's face went red.
"That's not possible... I just cut your hair in December... you couldn't have gone this gray... this fast, naturally." The barber exclaimed.
The two men continued talking and settled on it being cause by stress.
"I was going ask. The dye I've been using... it seems to only hold on my hair for a day. Do you have any recommendations for hair dye." Nick asked.
"Yeah, actually I do." The barber said, as he pulls out a jar. "You can't use those cheap brands from the store. I got this shipped directly from China. I dyed someone's hair with this a month ago. Forgot to wear gloves. The color is still on my hands." He raises his hands showing so find black markings. Nick bought the jar of him, hoping thisbwould be the answer to his problems.
The next day he dyed his hair. To his excitement the dye stayed on his hair the whole day. He woke up the next day, expecting to have to dye his hair again, but his hair was still jet black. A week goes by and the color was still holding strong.
For the fist time in a long time, Nick felt relaxed. He could finally focus on work, his girlfriend, hanging out with friends. But, all good things come to an end.
Late one night. Nick jolted awake. His body and face was extremely itchy. He itched at his body through the clothes he wore to bed. But, it didn't help. He reach for his face and felt a thick beard on his recently hairless face.
He ran to the bathroom and his heart sank as his eyes where hit with his reflection. His graying hair was back. But, that was the lease of his worries. On his face was a thick graying beard. His arms were now cover in forest of dark hair. As, dark gray hair also poked out of the neck of his shirt.
He began removing his clothes revealing that hair now covered almost every inch of his body. A body that for his entire life has been relatively hairless. He couldn't even grow a beard, just a day ago. Worst was the dark body hair was already beginning to go gray in different places.
If he already looked 40 with is graying hair, now he looked like he was well into his mide to late 40's with his graying beard and body hair.
In a panic, Nick's eyes began to tear up. "What the fuck is happening to me." He screamed. He felt like collapsing into a hairy ball of self pity. But, he buried his sadness. He had to do something about it. He rushed to a convenient store. And, bought everything he need to make himself hairless, again.
He shave his beard with a trimmer, followed by a razor. He smiled as he saw his clean shaving face. It just something else I have to add to the list of things I need to do know, he told himself. He continued to trim, shave, and put hair removing cream on different parts of his body. It took hours but he was finally done. He finished up with dying his hair one again.
He smiled as he looked like himself once again. But, the smile faded as he noticed a thick 5 o'clock shadow sat on his face again. His just laughed at how absurd everything happening to him was. And, he shaved his face again, twice in one morning. By the time he was done it was time to got to work. He brought extra shavers with him, just incase.
As the day went on, Nick noticed that a thick 5 o'clock shadow would come back every hour. And, ever hour he went to the work restroom to shave. Around lunch time, his body started itching. He went to the rest, again, as show his body hair was starting to grow back. Making his body very prickly and uncomfortable. What the fuck, he screamed in his head. There has to be something wrong with my hormones. He proceeded to reshape his face and any body hair that was covered by his suit, mainly his hands amd knuckles.
Later on, one of his coworkers walked in to hand Nick some paper work. "Oh, it's good to see your embracing the gray."
"Oh, yeah, thanks." Nick instinctively replied. He was a bit confused by what his friend meant. He pulled out his phone to see the dye was already out of his hair. What it doesn't even last a day anymore, he questioned himself.
Something was really wrong and Nick no longer could hide it. Instantly he dailed his medical insurance. "Hello, I would like to make an appointment with a hormone imbalance specialist." The operator replied that the closest appointment possible would be in the middle of March. Nick feared he could wait that long but, with out no other choice he booked the appointment.
But, would I be able to survive whatever is happening to my body until than, he asked himself.

March
As February came to an end, Nick realized trying to cover up his graying hair and shaving his body everyday just wasn't feasible. The dye alone was costing him a fortune and, now, he had to add shavers and hair remover creams.
As March started, Nick reluctantly allowed his graying hair to do as it pleased. He wasn't going to cover it up anymore. Deep down, he was hoping his appointment with the doctors would give him some answers and solutions. So, at worst he wouldn't be like this for much longer.
The office began to talk, as everyone saw Nick practically age before their eyes. The young 35 business man now looked like he was approaching 50. People asked him questions. But, Nick couldn't give anyone answers. "I'm going to meet with a specialist," was all he could reply with.
As the days passed, Nick became more comfortable with the aging man that he saw in the mirror. Even though he still had his young body, the older appearance brought by the gray hair, beard, and body hair still affected how Nick was beginning to act.
He felt more confident and he like how people started having more respect for him. He even started to lean in to the age people thought he was. It started to have it's benefits. One of the major benefits was his boss started to respect him more. Nick guess it was because they were looking closer in age.
"Nick, I have an important job for you. A meeting with a potential partner. If we can make a deal with her company our profits would double. And, we would be rid of our shipping problem. I need you to woo her off her feet. Charm her." His boss requested.
"Thanks sir, but why me," Nick asked.
"Let's just say your her type. Your mature looking bit your still fit," The boss said patting his own gut. "The meeting is next month. So, take time to do your research. Present our deal and throw in some of that charm." His boss directed.
What his boss was saying was true. He may look older. But, underneath all this graying hair still was the body of fit 35 year old.
----------------------------------------------
Although he was getting more comfortable with his body. He still didn't want to stay this way. So, keeping up his fitness was becoming his main focus. He felt like it was the one thing he could control. He began spending more time in the gym. Even if he had to deal with guys in their 20's, 30's, and even early 40's coming up to him and saying they'd kill to have a body like him at his age. Nick always felt like correcting them, revealing his true age. But, he never did. It would be more of a hassle that Nick didn't have the time for.
----------------------------------------------
Time passed and Nick was pleased that there weren't other physical changes. But, he did notice he was starting to act different; older. But, he brushed it off. He chalked it up to be some subconscious psychological issue. Seeing an older man in his reflection meant ,maybe, subconsciously he probably felt like he had to act older. Once I get this dealt with and look normal again, I'll be back to my old self, he hoped.
Finally his appointment with the hormone imbalance specialist came. Nick was hoping for answers and solutions for whatever was happening to him. He was hoping this nightmare would be over. "Okay. Nick," The doctor walked in and paused. "Oh, sorry sir... I must have the wrong chart ... I'll be right back." The doctor left the room and came back five minutes later.
"Um Sir ... you are Nick Winters, right?" The doctor asked.
"Yes?" Nick responded a bit confused by everything.
"Oh, okay, sorry about that... it seems like there was just a small mix up with something. It's no big deal. I'll go ahead and let the nurse know to fix your age on the paperwork, after where done here today. So, what brings you in," the doctor continued.
Nick felt a bit embarrassed, "Well that's just it. The age on the paper work is correct. In fact just over two months ago I looked like an normal 35 year old. But, now my body is covered in all this graying hair. It grows back fast. And, if I try to dye it... it doesn't hold pigment..." He continued talking and telling him everything he has been experiencing.
The doctor just looked at Nick, surprised by everything he was saying. "I've never seen anything like this before." He walked closer and examined Nick's face. "Interesting, either your telling the truth or you have taken really good care of your skin over the years." The doctor tried to joke. Nick, stayed quiet.
Over the course of the next few hours. The doctor asked Nick to do different task. He shave parts of Nick's body. Within 10 minutes stuble was already growing back. He tried to dye Nick's hair. But, the hair was unaffected by the dye.
He gathered serial vials of blood to be tested. He requested to get MRIs and X-rays. Any test that was useful was done. "Okay, Nick I don't know what going on with you. But, obviously this is not normal. We've run every test and now it just time to wait. We'll get to the bottom of this and help you however we could." The doctor tried to reassure Nick.
"Thanks, Doc... How long should it take to get the results." Nick said hopeful that this nightmare was actually coming to an end.
"Well, Nick. Some of these test take more time than the others. I'd say we will have a full report by next month. Until then, if we get any important results will let you know sooner." The doctor gave him a reassuring pat on the back.
----------------------------------------------
As Nick went home, he saw his girlfriend packing. "What's happening?" He asked.
"Fuck," she said to herself. "I was really hoping I'd be done before you got back.
"What's happening?" Nick asked again. He didn't want to believe what he was seeing.
"I'm breaking up with you." Her eyes began to water. "I know it not your fault. But, I just can't sit here and see what happening to you. I know it makes me a bitch to break up with you, when your going through this. But, I can't take it anymore. People stare when we go out on dates. You've been mistaken for my father. Heck, People probably think I'm a gold digger going after an older man. I just can't take anymore." She explained through her tear.
"But, I went to the doctors. They ran test. There gonna give me the results. I'm not gonna stay like this forever." Nick plead trying get her to change her mind.
"But, what if it you do. This... whatever is happening to you... it not normal. What if you get worst. What if it starts affecting more than your hair. Heck it's already affecting you mentally. You are starting to act and sound more older ever day. You go to the park and feed the duck. You been becoming friends with the old man that owns the bakery down the street. You even started relating more with your boss. And, that just the tip of the iceberg. My nightmare is one day waking up and your an 80 year old man." She continued packing. "Please don't make this harder than it needs to be."
Nick knew he should feel mad. But, she was right. He was acting different. She didn't sign up for this. She didn't deserve none of this. He walked out of the room and sat on the couch. Maybe a couple of months ago he would have fought. But, now, he just felt older and more mature. It hurt but, deep down, he knew it was for the best.
Eventually she came out of the room. "So, I guess this is good bye," she said, as she gave him one last kiss. She walked out of the door and his life.
Now alone in his apartment he cried. His girlfriend was just another casualty of this curse. "I hope all this ends before it gets worst," he cried to himself.

April

Nick looked in the mirror and, for the first time in a while, he smiled. Damn, I look good for being an older man, he said to himself. He examined his body, checking out all the muscle behind the graying hair. He flexed a little bit. Fuck, yeah I'm a hot daddy, he flirted with himself.
Suddenly, he snaps out of his trance. "What the fuck was that?" He yelled out. I can't give in to whatever this is! Nick yelled in his head. I'm going to get my body back to the way it was. I just gotta wait a bit longer
Nick continued to try and live his life as normal as he could. He went to work. He hung out with friends. He went to the gym. He tried to be himself or the person he used to be before all of this. But, he began feeling out of place.
Deep down he could feel it. Some part of him slowly growing. A part of him that wanted to just give in. It wanted him to embrace who he was becoming. But, he couldn't let it happen. He continued to push that feeling deep into his psyche; he was still thankful he was stronger then these feelings.
----------------------------------------------
The meeting his boss set up came at the end of the first week of April. He met with the potential business partner. She was hot for her age, a total MILF. It was awkward at first, but he quickly became comfortable. And, he started getting into character.
He took her to dinner where they could talk business. They made small talk. They flirted. It was strange being in this situation with a women that could almost be his own mom's age. It was even weirder that to the outside world and to the women in front of him none of this was strange. It just looked like to older people having a good time together.
Nick would get glimpses of them two in the mirror. Damn, we'd make a good couple, if it wasn't just so weird, Nick said to himself. Everything continued to go as planned. She seemed to like the deal. She seemed to like Nick.
Towards the end of dinner, she became even more flirty. "I'm just in town tonight. We had such a good time. I'd like to continue this in my hotel room." She suggested. Nick was shocked. He wasn't planning on it going this far.
But, maybe it was his recent break up. Maybe it was that growing feeling of excepting his older body. But, he calmly said "Definitely, I'd love that." The two raced to the hotel room, making out on the way.
As they got to the hotel room, she positioned Nick onto the bed. "I got to freshen up a bit. There should be virga in there, if you need it." She tossed Nick her purse, as she went of to the restroom.
"I don't think I'll need it," Nick flirtatiously replied. "Oh someone is confident." She flirted back.
As she returned, Nick felt his dick get hard, as he saw her. She climbs on him and they begin to make out. "Damn, you keep your body in good shape," she moans. "Your not too bad yourself," Nick grunted as he manhandled her, the two switching their position. Now, he was on top.
This is so fucking weird, Nick screams in his head. But, it feels so right. The two of them proceeded to make out exploring their bodies. And, soon they make love as Nick penatrated her. The sex was passionate and raw, as Nick felt good for the first time in a long time.
They reached climax has she moans out Nick's name. Nick's cock shots a load of cum deep inside her. They lay next to each other panting, feeling the erotic pleasure surge through their bodies.
"Damn, you fuck like a 20 year old." She moans. The two of them cuddle for some time. She gives Nick her business card. "Call me and I'll let you know the next time I'm in this part of the world. Maybe we can get together, again."
Nick new what he was getting into. He knew this would be a one night stand. But, he still felt a little bummed out. He felt like he finally found someone he could be his new self around. "Sure, I'd like that," Nick smiled.
After a few hours, Nick got dressed and began to drive home. Did I really just become the booty call of an older woman... and I actually liked it. Nick asked himself finally taking time to fully comprehend what just happened.
----------------------------------------------
The next day at work his boss was pleased to hear the good news. "You did good, Nick. I don't know what's happening to you but, boy am I glad it happened." His boss patted him on the back and shook him with excitement.
"Thanks sir, I'm not sure what's happening myself. But, I actually had a good time." Nick replied.
"That good to hear, boy... Damn, it's weird to call you that, considering you almost look my age. But, anyway I want to reward you. You earned your self a new promotion for the new sector we are opening you up. I'm making you head of sales and distribution at our new branch." His boss said with proud excitement.
"What!? ... sir ... thank you. I'd be honored." Nick stuttered.
Nick's boss brought out some whisky, to celebrate. The two men began to talk like two old friends. Which, at this point wasn't a stretch of the imagination. Because, as time had been passing Nick's has started to view his boss more as friend than he did his old office friends.
----------------------------------------------
The rest of April went on without any physical changes that Nick could notice. And, for the first time since this all happened, Nick felt happy. Everything was going great. He was settling in to his new appearance. He even set up a dating profile on a site for people over 50.
Towards the end of April, Nick realized the hormone specialist never call back. But, at this point he didn't care. He started liking the way he looked. If this is as bad as it gets I can live with this, Nick said to himself. It's not like it can get any worse.

[Part 5 of 12]

May
Nick was loving his life. He loved his body. He loved how everyone treated him. He felt like a new man. Finally he seemed to get a hang of his new life and body.
But, a part of him still hung on to his old life. The fact that he was still a 35 year old man. But, instead of these two forces fighting each other, they began to balance each other out. As Nick was able to live the best of both worlds.
Although it was becoming less frequent, he still hanged out with his old friends. He drank with them, hiked, went to the beach. He kept his body fit at the gym. He did everything he did before. His body felt young and could still keep up. Of course it was still weird seeing a 50 year old man hanging out with 30 year olds.
Appearance wise, he was able to command respect. People looked up to him. And, his social life expanded as he began to hangout with his boss and his boss's wealthy friends. New opportunities were opening to him.
He was able to live as both a young man and a old man. With his friends, he was still a bro chucking down beers, eating pizza, and partying. In fact he was still the most fit out of all his friends. With his boss and new friends, he was able to relate on some aspects of being an older man. Flipping between these two sides became second nature for Nick. But, sooner or later good things come to an end.
----------------------------------------------
On the last day of Nay, at the gym, Nick was changing to get ready to leave. As two young men walked in. Nick recognized the men, as two 20 year olds that admired Nick.
"Yo, pops what's popping. Damn, you getting the bulk going." One of the young men said.
Nick hated when they guys at the gym called him pops. But, he never corrected them about his age. But, this time he was caught off gaurd, as the men were talking about his bulk.
"Damn, that's gonna be sick when you start cutting back down. You gonna be even more of a beast." The other guy proclaimed.
"Yeah, gotta get those gains." Nick replied. Still confused at what they were talking about. As the two men began to change into their workout clothes, Nick walked up to a mirror.
For the first time in two months his body had transformed again. And, not in a way he liked. His abs were gonna. His sculpted body that he worked hard on was cover in a layer of fat. Instead of the silver fox he had been these past two months, he now had a thick and somewhat strong dad bod. He still looked like a daddy. But, now just a different definition of the word.
He got dressed noticing his clothes were a bit tighter. They accentuated his small gut. He went home and explored the fat the clinged to his body. He felt parts of his body jiggle with every movement. This was a new experience for the always fit 35 year old. Did this just happened or have I been gaining weight for a while now, Nick asked himself.
His heart raced as he felt the fear of whatever is happening to him return. "No, no, no I was done transforming! This is not fair!" Nick yelled out to whatever cruel force was doing this to him, while holding his bloated stomach.
Just then his phone rang. It was the hormone specialist. "Hello, Nick I'm extremely sorry for barely getting back to you. It seems there was a lot more... um... complications in understanding what's happening to you. I'm actually surprised you haven't called in sooner." The doctor related through a concerned tone.
"Hey Doc, yeah I was actually doing well there for awhile. But, it funny that you called. My body is going through another phase of transformation." Nick said trying to hide his panic.
"Okay, I understand. I... um think it would be better to have this conversation in person. Can you please come to my office tomorrow." The doctor said calmly trying not to scare Nick.
"Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem considering I'm the boss. I'll just call out of work tomorrow." Nick stated.
Soon after that, the conversation ended. Nick wasn't even sad at this point. No, he was upset. This curse came back. It waited for him to be happy, again. And, now it's sucking the joy out of his life, again. All he could do was wait for tomorrow. He hoped the doctor had some good news. Or, at least a way to prevent things from getting worst.

[Part 6 of 12]

June
The next day Nick woke up earlier. For the first time in his life he felt groggy and heavy. It was difficult trying to get the energy to get out of bet. And, then there was the pain from his lower back.
He looked at his reflection and noticed his skin started looking older. More wrinkled and weathered by life. He wasn't sure if it was all in his head but it looked like he gain more weight overnight. He sighed, Hopefully I get some answers, today.
Nick sat in the doctor's office. As his doctor walked in.
"Nick is that you?" The doctor asked shocked. You both didn't want to say it, but you now looked older than the doctor.
"Yeah, Doc. This is the new change I was talking about." Nick slapped his gut. "The changes stopped since the last time I saw you, and everything was fine. But, literally overnight I just gained 30 lbs of fat."
"I'm sorry you are going through this." The doctor said. But, in his tone hid the fact that he wasn't surprised.
"So, doc, can you tell me what's going on with me?" Nick, asked.
"It's complicated. Everything came back negative. For all intents and purposes internally your as healthy as a 20 year old athlete." The doctor explained.
Nick laughed in disbelief and his small belly jiggled. "That's hilarious. Look at me... look... this is not healthy. What's happening is not normal." Nick started becoming more agitated.
"Nick calm down. I agree with you. Something is happening. Just not something with your health." The doctor rose his voice in an attempt to silence Nick. "It has to do with your genetic."
"What do you mean." Nick said his anger interrupted with confusion.
"After the result came back, your case still intrigued me. It's nothing I've ever seen before. So, I sent a DNA sample to a colleague you works more in experimental genetics." The doctor began to explain. "And, what he found defies everything we know."
At that point another doctor walks into the room an, elderly man. "Hello, Nick I am Dr. Paulak. Your case is quite intriguing." The old man began pulling out paper work and handing it to Nick. Nick began reading it. It was results and information from multiple DNA test.
"What is all this, Nick asked."
"Dr. Freeman is correct. Medically there is nothing wrong with. You are as healthy as a man younger than your actual age. But, there are some very strange anomalies that cause your body to act very different from an average person."
"Please, just tell me. What's going on with me." Nick pleaded, tried of the doctor skirting around the issue.
"Okay, okay... it's seems like your cells have an ability and need to store massive amounts of energy. In fact your body seems to see this as the main goal of it's function. This can explain your aging appearance but the fact is you are still as healthy as a race horse. Your body seems to have drained the energy keeping your skin and hair youthful and began storing that, as energy, for this transformation process, you are going through, to start."
"There's no way to reverse this?" Nick's heart dropped. "What about the weight gain. Why am I getting fatter, now all of sudden?"
"That can be explained too. As your body continues to transform into this energy saver, for a lack of a better word, it seems your body is even more skilled at storing the nutrients and fats of everything you eat. Meaning it's hard for you to lose weight because now even the healthiest foods are somewhat fattening." The doctor continued to explain. "In fact as this transformation continues, your body is gonna have the need to eat more in order to meet its needs to store energy."
"So, what are your telling me, I'm going to get fatter and theirs nothing I can do about it." Nick yelled.
"I'm afraid, so." The doctor simply replied allowing Nick to sit in silence and think.
"What is this energy even for? You keep saying my body is taking all of my youth and the food I eat for energy, what's the point." Nick asked just trying to understand.
"As for that, we don't know." Dr. Freeman spoke up.
"I don't even feel full of energy. Today, I felt so drained. So much for all this energy my body is storing." Nick cried.
"Well that's happening for two reasons," Dr. Pualak started up again. "Firstly, It could be your not eating enough, to meet your new bodies needs. Now, I'm not condoning you eat more. It up to you. The second reason is... it seems your body has a genetic depositions for a hibernation cycle of sorts. It seems like during winter your body might be more active. As summer approaches, you are at the peak of your hibernation state. That explains why you are feeling so tired. As winter approaches again you should start feeling better."
"There's gotta be something you can do. Hormones I can take. Things I can do." Nick sat down defeated.
"As of now, there is nothing we can do. Unless there were others that share your strange syndrome. Then we can start cross examining the data and narrow down something that could stop or cure this. Do any of your family members share any of these effects?" Dr. Paulak asked.
Nick just shook his head. "No, my mom's family are normal. Some cases of cancer, diabetes, but nothing like this."
"What about your father." Dr. Paulak asked.
"I don't know, I've never known him or his family. He left before I was born." Nick got a bit irritated thinking about the fact that he could have inherited this from his father. A man the he never met or cared about. A man that abandoned him and his mom.
"Well maybe you can start there?" Dr. Freeman stepped in. "You can ask your mother and update us if you find out more. Until than take it easy. If you need we know a therapist thst handles these types of cases."
"What there are othesr like me!? But, you just said..." Nick asked confused.
"Not exactly like you... But, people that have found themselves in a new body, one way or the other."
The doctors gave Nick the card to the therapist. And, he left back to his home. He got some answers but he was heartbroken he didn't have any solutions.
----------------------------------------------
Everything was happening so fast. This year was to much for Nick to handle. As May went on, he fell into denial. Those doctors are crazy. Talking about people being put into new bodies. They sound like some cracked mad scientist. They don't know what they are talking about. I'm going to be better in no time. Nick talked to himself.
But as the month past, he felt more tired. He gained more weight. The age difference between him and his friends were becoming more apparent. He started ghosting them. He hung out more with his boss and his new older friends. He was able to relate to them more. "I was jealous of you there for awhile. Glad your gaining weight like the rest of us." His boss admitted. Nick didn't care at this point. He was defeated. He just smiled and laughed it off.
The guys at the gym started making fun of his weight gain. Saying he was starting to look more his age. And, that it was sad to see age get the best of him.
----------------------------------------------
There was one last hope to fix this, Nick thought. Maybe his dad or his dad's family could shed light on his situation. But,, first he had to talk to his mom. Through all of this, he kept his mom blind to what was happening. Hoping he could fix it on his own. But, now with no cure he knew he had to come clean. He called up his mom like he had always done. "Hey, mom month when I go back home to visit you for your birthday... there's gonna be something different about me. I just want to give you a heads up."
"Oh, sweetie what's going on. You sound like your in trouble. Now, matter what it is you can tell me." His mom's warm voice made him feel safe. Tears ran down his face.
Nick cried as he began to speak, "I'm an old man now."
His mom laughed, "Sweetie you're barely 35. You have a lot of life left ahead of you."
"No mom, I'm really an old man." Nick took a picture and sent it to her. He was getting frustrated that she didn't believe him.
"Oh, sweetie stop playing with those apps. But, that is a realistic photo edit. You got me worried for a bit. You always try so hard on your pranks." His mom laughed.
Nick realized the only way to prove it to her was to just wait and show her in person. Hopefully she wouldn't freak out. And, better yet maybe she had answers to some of his questions about his father.
(Shout out to @thegreatstoryteller his TF Therapy series has inspired me to turn this one story idea into a series)
Holiday Special: The Twelve Months of Transformation
[Part 7 of 12]

July
As Nick went well into July, He couldn't recognize the man he used to be anymore. It was more than the half way point of the year. He lost his friend because it was weird for an old man to be hanging out with a bunch of 30's, going to clubs, hiking, etc. His body couldn't even keep up anymore, like he was able to just a few months ago.
His friend now consisted of his boss, and the other older guys at the business club, and the baker from down the street. He already started looking older and fatter than his boss, at this point. His boss stopped treating him like a young man a long time ago. Instead his boss viewed him, as a slightly older man than himself. He started to look up to Nick as a role model.
As, head of sales and distribution , Nick started to find joy in his work. He was good at it. Making sure these were delivered on time gave him a sense of accomplishment. Something he could finally control. His new office was filled with people that never knew hunky 35 year old Nick. Instead all his staff knew him as a portly mid 50s to early 60s man. They treated him with respect, by always calling him Mr. Winters. And, he was a good boss. He tried to make the work environment fun. Alway, leaving gifts for people's birthdays and having weekly staff bonding games and parties.
Nick gave up on trying to stay fit. He tried to stay on a diet, but it wasn't working out. The first couple of days he felt sick. He had no energy, was grumpy, and his stomach constantly screamed for food. As, he began to eat more he became more energetic and jolly.
It felt good finally allowing himself to binge on food. He spent years trying to stay fit. But. It didn't matter, anymore. Because no matter what he did, now, he was going to end up fat. It was like all the weight was lifted off his shoulders and land on his belly.
----------------------------------------------
In the last week of July, Nick took the 6 hour drive to visit his mom for her birthday. The fear and anger about his situation slowly began melting a way. Because, there was nothing he could do at this point.
It was becoming a tighter fit, in his car, even with the car seat pushed all the way back. Even his 3 day travel bag was strained carrying his bigger clothes and snacks. Nick body constantly felt hungry and if he went to long with out eating he would feel tired and cranky. Another bag of snacks sat on the front seat. It was filled with cookies, chips, beef jerky, candy. He had multiple liters of Coca Cola on the floor of the passenger seat.
He finally made it to his mother's house and knocked door. His mom was thrown off guard as she saw this big older man, at the door.
"Hi Mom!" He says going to give his mom a hug. His belly squeezed against her.
It took a moment to realize what was happening, but his mother replied, "Nick is that you?"
Nick was a bit surprised his mom wasn't freaking out, but he just laughed. His belly jiggling in the process. "Yeah, I wasn't lying I'm an old fat man, now." Nick patted his belly.
Over the weekend, the two spent time together. They went to the store and out to eat. Nick found every excuse to buy his mom something. He enjoyed making her happy and spending time with family. He even decided to not ask her about his father, because what was the point. There was nothing that could be done anyways.
On the other side, Nick's mom worried for her son. She knew the truth. Sadness filled her eyes, everytime she stared at him. The night before he left he heard her crying in her room.
Nick's heart broke and walked in carring a cup of Hot Cocoa to cheer her up. "Mom what is it? Are you sad because of my transformation... because you don't have to be. I'm okay with it, honestly." Nick tried comforting her.
She wiped the tears from her eyes, "Damn your just like your father... Nick, I have to tell you something about your father." Nick's heart raced, he wasn't expecting this conversation but, he just nodded.
"Your father is... Santa Clause. And, based on your transformation it means he's dead."
Nick dropped the Hot Cocoa, the mug shattering on the floor. His mind raced, as his mom informed him of all the missing details.
After another day at his mom's home, Nick drove home his head still spinning trying to grasp the weight of what she said and what this all meant.
Holiday Special: The Twelve Months of Transformation
[Part 8 of 12]

August
Nick could not shake everything he learned. His life was never gonna be the same. He was paralyzed with information and his life went on hold, as he sorted out his thoughts. The man he never knew but spent his whole life time hating, just changed in his head. All the Christmas presents that said from Santa, really coming from his dad. They were always exactly what he wanted.
As, the month went on all Nick could think about was everything his mother told him of his father and the life they lived together.
His father and mother knew each other from a young age. They went to the same schools. They hung out worh the same friends. They began dating in high-school. Before they left off to college, they already got married. Life was perfect and they were in love like the first day they met. What they wanted above all else was to have a child. Nick's father wanted to be a dad, since he himself was raised without a father.
But, when they both turned 25, the changes started to take affect. They both grew concerned because of what was happening to Nick's father.
His father, learned the truth over time. That his family are the descendants of the original Santa Claus. There must always be a man in the family that takes up the mantle of Santa Claus, if something should happen to the one currently in the role.
Nick realized his life would never be the same, again in a couple of months. He would never be able to live his life, as he planned. He would be up in the north pole as an observer to the world and no longer a participant. It was up to him to be a beacon of hope and good cheer. He wasn't sure if he was ready for this role. But, he knew, deep down, it was a role he had to take no matter if he liked or not. It would be selfish not, too. The world need a Santa Cluas.

So, I'm gonna have to end The Twelve at part 8. Maybe one day I'll finish the series. But, I think it's best if I just move on to other stoires.
Edit: In response to the comment section.
