Xisuma Design Sketches!

I've been messing around with different designs for Xisuma. One design somewhat resembles his mc skin. The other? Not at all.
Even though it looks nothing like him, it was fun trying to draw a space-themed helmet.
Also-- bonus Salem!
Zed goes moo!

(Why why why why WHY do I find Zedaph so hard to draw??? I swear he never turns out right when I try to sketch him.)
It's raining cats and-- cats. Just cats.

"I don't want any more cats!" - Iskall
"I saved some cats just for you!" - Stress
-
This is just a quick drawing I thought I'd share. The white cat turned out so derpy lol.
Huh.
How did I not know this? I feel like I should have known this.

Both are called Elytra. I don't know why I never realized this. They even mention it in the trivia section on the wiki for minecraft elytra. I feel a bit dumb for not connecting the dots lol.

I had so much fun just sitting down for an hour or two and churning out multiple sketches like this, not worrying about if they're perfect or not. A cup of tea and my sketchbook-- what a perfect day.
Which drawing's your favorite and is there any hermit you'd like to see more of? I'm rather fond of how Keralis turned out.

Prevention & Safety
Put below is a link to sign a petition. In South Park, Pennsylvania, a developer plans to cut down an old-growth forest and put housing there.
Not only is this an environmental risk, but also it risks the health of the people because of where they plan to build roads and housing. This area of land has been left undeveloped for a reason. There's an old coal mine beneath the surface of the earth, that if put under more stress, could collapse given incentive. There is already evidence of deep pits and areas where the ground is sinking, showing that this is already occurring.
If that was not a serious enough reason to halt the development of houses there, this would also affect the local wetlands (where the water runs off to when it rains). So if houses were put there, meaning water would have nowhere to go, it would most certainly flood and cause erosion-- which could only speed up the process of a collapse.
If only for the safety of the people who might live there if this development continues, please consider signing the petition linked below.
All extra details about the development/petition can be found through the link.

Hermit Horses

(Click on images for full picture!!!)
You can see my ability to draw horses slowly improving with each horse I draw lol. It's kinda funny. I might redraw Spot because they look odd in comparison to the other horses.
All of the horse drawings are based on the horses' in-game appearance!
----
Horses and Owners:
Wels found and took Spot from a hole, thinking the horse was abandoned (turns out Spot belonged to Iskall?), then, I think, Wels ended up giving ownership of Spot to Beef so he could annoy Iskall.
Grian owns Pluto (the horse determined to run away - Pluto may not be a dog, but they're a husky in spirit)
Name Tag ™ was a gift from Keralis to Xisuma (who then accidentally left the horse to wander the Shopping District for a couple of hours until Xisuma panic-logged back in to go find Name Tag ™ with the help of Cleo)
Iskall has the Swede II - (The Swede II is not the original and Iskall won't forget it)
cOW belongs to Scar and is very good at parkour.
Skipper belongs to Gem and is the foal of Etho and Bdub's horses.
Donkey (the mule) belongs to Pearl and beat Impulse's horse in a race.
Tyler Thee Stallion belongs to Impulse and lost in a race against a mule. He may be a slow horse but he's a nice horse.
Impulse bought Tyler Swift from Keralis after losing a race against Pearl's mule.
----
Of course, these are not ALL the hermits' horses, but if there's a specific horse I missed that you want to see, drop a comment with
1.) the name of the hermit
(2.) the name of the horse
(3.) if you can, the episode where I can find a picture/backstory of the horse. You can also leave any notable information about the lovely steed you wish to see.
You're open to criticism, but keep in mind that the ideas I share are based entirely on my own thoughts/experience. In the end, it's up to you to decide how you want the end result of your art to look (so take my words with a grain of salt.) This is what I think:
----
In general, I like to recommend that beginner artists study realistic human anatomy-- like photos of people (it helped me as a kid and is the backbone of any human-based art style).
But, ignoring that piece of advice, (cuz it's BORING), my first thought is that the big eyes in your drawing are absolutely adorable. If you want to play into an adorable/cute art style, I'd recommend looking at the character design of the Powerpuff Girls and how you can apply what you see there to this drawing. (If you don't want to lean into a cartoonish/anime style, disregard everything I'm about to say.)
For example: the powerpuff girl, Blossom, has a dramatically large bow. Applying this to your drawing of Scott, you might make the crystals/stars around his head more large/cartoonish, with one end of the crystal fatter and the other end extremely pointy. This is one way to apply this idea.
And Scott's hair can be given the same treatment-- Bubbles, for example, has very simple, yet exaggerated, pigtails. In general, you already seem to understand the basic shape of his hair, but emphasizing that can really enhance a drawing.
----
Image Examples:

You can see that the artists use the same principle in different ways-- by finding a way to exaggerate the shape of Scott's hair in their own unique style, where the swoops and curves of the hair are defined and easy to see. (Luckily, there are many ways people draw Scott's hair, so you basically have free reign in this department with few ways to go astray.)
It's up to you how exaggerated you want things to be, or how finicky you get with the details, or how soft/hard you want the line art to be. You can already make a recognizable drawing of a specific character, so it's more about working on the finer details at this point for you-- that means you're halfway there!
I hope this was of some help to you and that you can make sense of this messy nonsense :)
These are the links to the fanart that I used as examples: cinncboo, syneester, and itsoddissey
Good luck in all your future art endeavors!

I don’t really like this one but whatever
Scott is one of my favorite life series members sooooooooooo yea :D
I hope to one day have a friendship as strong and fun as Iskall's and Stress' friendship. The back-and-forth banter, the ribbing, the laughter-- the happiness is contagious. Like, every interaction they have makes me smile.
Stress: *starts to sing another song*
Iskall: *a longsuffering, yet fond, groan of pain*
These guys have my mushy platonic heart in a vice grip.

Sketch of a sick Iskall stealing Stress' bed. (During Iskall's first episode at 39:42.)
Fishing Obsession-- It's NOT an Addiction >:(

I haven't used FlipaClip before so I've been messing around with it and making little things like this! It's super fun :D
please tell me someone else noticed that the thing in scars hat looks like a vex wing

look at this tell me you see it as well im not going insane with convex brainrot i swear
I HAD to draw a few little comics for some of the funny moments in Scar's first episode.

Fanfic fodder moment.

The way Scar turned around in the cow pit to stare up at Bdubs had me coughing from laughter.
SKIZZ and JOEL in
HERMITCRAFT!!!
I'm so psyched!!!! From what Impulse has said during today's stream, this season is going to have a lot of collaboration and a lot of Hermits hanging out together. I always love watching the hermits get together and have a good time-- and now Skizz and Joel will be a part of that too.
I'm so so so so stoked for Season 10 of Hermitcraft!!!!

There's not enough Hypno fanart so I made some.
And Gem's color palette contrasts really well with Hypno's side of the page.
Very happy with how this turned out.
I may update this with new pictures later because there's a bit of a light glare from my lamp on Hypno's side, but for now, this is the finished product!!!
I had a dream last night that Spongebob Squarepants had a medical degree and that he healed your spiritual chi with the power of Christ invested in him.
He was a terrifyingly competent doctor and he would travel for days by jellyfish so he could help his next patient.

Rest in peace Jellie.
Forever missed and never forgotten.
Christmas gift 🎁 : vex scar with a hint of sculk

I absolutely agree. The Eclipse is so cool.
I actually nearly made my post about the Eclipse lol. I really loved the dramatic imagery and I thought the idea of Scar being trapped in the dark by outside forces was a super cool analogy for his loneliness.
But when I was writing, I was trying to argue against the Earth and Pluto and such, but the pros for Earth kept adding up and started to be very convincing.
In the end, I accidentally managed to persuade myself with a failed argument for the Eclipse and ended up throwing my lot in with Earth.
I was very annoyed with myself. I had to delete everything I had written and start over :(
Now that Scar's won, it's that time when everyone comes together to choose the winner's motif/symbol.
Grian is the Sun, Scott the Stars, Pearl the Moon, and Martyn is Mars.
Now what of Scar?
I definitely like the idea of Scar being the Earth, as many people have proposed.
I've also have seen some people propose Pluto.
However, I'm not a big fan of this one.
My reason for not agreeing with this option is pretty simple. Pluto, while sharing some similarities with Scar (like loneliness and being an outcast), doesn't really have enough meaningful connections or parallels for it to be used as a motif.
I think that since Scar's theme is so full of flowers this season-- Sunflowers, Poppies, and Lilacs-- this naturally connects back to the Earth, which also ties to a lot of other symbolisms as well, making it the better option out of the two.
So I've decided to throw my vote in for the Earth as Scar's symbol.
I think it just fits, in the end.
The Sun and Moon are both in close relation to Scar, with Pearl and Scar being each other's foil, and the Sun being vital to the Earth (desert duo aaaangst!!!). And the fact that all three are stuck in each other's orbits is perfect.
And on top of all this, is that the Earth is lonely. Just like Scar was this entire season.
The Earth is the only planet we know with such an overflow of life. The only one in this solar system that is covered in plants and animals and people. There is no other planet like it. It is alone in its uniqueness. And just like the Earth is alone in the solar system, Scar was alone in the game.
I think that loneliness, paired with Scar's flower themes, and the relation to the Sun and the Moon, is what makes the Earth such a perfect symbol for Scar.
I feel like any other symbol would leave out important aspects of his character and his story.
Anyways, what are your opinions on the matter? I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Don't hesitate to mercilessly poke holes in my argument. It builds character.
Mumbo's latest video "The End" was a shot to the heart man.
It really sucks that he had to struggle during so much of season 9 of Hermitcraft. Existential crisis has and always will be a bitch and the pressure of your own high expectations is equally as torturous.
I'm so happy he's feeling better mentally though, and I hope he can have more fun in the upcoming season!
oh yea, got ya, that makes sense
