the sound of the iphone alarm rings throughout the bedroom. a mix of deep, raspy groans and soft whining fill the room, replacing said irritating noise.

you reach to tap the ‘snooze’ button but a hand grabs your arm. he stretches a hand out to hit it instead but missed 5 times before effectively shutting it off. he groans, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face into your chest.

“babe, get up. you’re too fat, you’re suffocating me.”

“‘s too early to get up, stop squirming,” he reaches a hand up to your face, trying to cover your mouth before you slap it away.

you wriggle in his grasp before stopping, surrendering to his warmth.

“morning, my sweet waffle with honey, maple syrup and berries on top.”

there was a good few seconds of silence to make you realise he’s not joking and genuinely calls you that.

upon imaging the image of waffles in your mind, the idea obviously makes your stomach grumble. you wanted to get up and make some but forgot about the tired guy on your chest.

with a loud groan, you drag him with you out of bed. you can definitely hear his quiet giggles as he brings the blanket with him, perched on his shoulders while you drag him around.

“i got it, i got it!”

“baby, let me pay for it!” you strain out, struggling against his tight embrace. you can feel the vibrations of his chest behind you as he captures your arms in one hand and tries to put the money in the machine with the other.

you squeal when you free your hands from his vice grip and he tickles you to prevent sticking your money in.

“babe, babe stop! i wanna pay, its my turn.”

“i got it, don’t worry. im not gonna let you pay, ill cover it,” he laughs, taking the cash from your hands and slipping it back into your wallet.

at this point, you’re thrashing around in his grasp, not harsh enough to hurt him though. he has his arms hooked under your shoulders to prevent you from moving forward.

“please, let me pay! i got it, its fine!” he protests through his own laughter.

you throw your head back on his shoulder, giggling while trying to free yourself from his grip. he leans downwards and presses several kisses to your face, successfully stopping your movements.

he paid for you again. hey, at least you tried, right?

Sighing, DILUC makes his way into your shared bedroom and sees you wrapped up in a blanket. He’s confused yet chuckles at the scene before him. He makes his way over to your buried form, getting a proper glimpse of your sleepy face. He asks you what you’re doing. The only voice that pierces through the murmuring of the television programme makes you snap your eyes open and slightly jolt. You soon relaxed back into the confines of your own blanket and just mumble, ‘Blanket Burrito.’ DILUC was amused as he sits down beside you and scoots closer to your figure. He wraps his arms around you and pulls you impossibly closer to him, caging you in his warmth as he pecks your cheek. Your eyes fluttered shut as you curled up on his chest. The rhythm of your steady breathing brought him to inevitable exhaustion as he switches off the television and joins you in a comfortable slumber.

CHILDE fumbles with his keys as he huffs in annoyance. He sighs in relief as he finally unlocks the door with the correct key. He kicks off his shoes sloppily, unable to wait and join you for dinner at midnight. He hums in thought, making his way to the bathroom. Perhaps he should look more presentable compared to his normal tired and disheveled appearance from his physical duties. CHILDE takes a quick shower before slipping in a simple shirt and a pair of shorts before wandering out of the bathroom. Out of nowhere, you appeared and wrapped your arms around his waist, burying your face into his back. He jumps yet comes to realise it was his partner and his tense shoulders relax almost immediately. He turns around and returns the gesture, hugging you so tight you might just turn purple. As soon as he lets go, CHILDE brings you in a short yet sweet kiss as you drag him to the table, face flushed. He laughs and lets you. Its always the small things.

The Calvary Captain slumped further into his chair, scratching his head irritably as he stared daggers into the paperwork piled in front of him. Oh, how KAEYA could not wait for his day off tomorrow. He missed your lingering touch, the warmth of your skin, the admiring tone laced in your voice, your face that was oh so attractive until it seemed to glow, and the softness of your hair. He craved it all. Just the thought of you being able to run your delicate fingers through his tangles blue locks gave him the motivation to work hard for his deserved break. And so, KAEYA buried his head in his piles of paperwork, carefully scanning each letter of every word of every sentence of every paragraph. You suddenly burst through his office, the door hitting the chair near it and causing a huge clatter of items. He looked up to see you running to him and hugging him, kissing every corner of his face. He smiles as he hugs you back, taking in your scent that seemed to intoxicate him. You were truly a saviour in these dreaded times he faced.

The amber-eyed man sits down on a table, reserved only for him and you. ZHONGLI stares at the empty seat in front of him. He looks unbothered but lets his facade slip away for a quick second before it covers his disappointment again. His eyebrows furrowed and his fists clenched, unbeknownst to him. He wishes you would not have left for the academy in Sumeru. However, it was your decision and who was he to stop you from doing what you wanted? Though ZHONGLI had many people to keep him company, it was only you whose presence made him feel at ease, even being able to bring his guard down around you. He heaves a small and quiet sigh as he brings the teacup to his lips. The warm liquid almost made him remember the softness and the warmth of your lips on his. He brought the teacup down from his mouth and the warmth lingered. It was only then he realised that you were in front of him, enveloping him in a passionate kiss that only knew happiness and nostalgia. He could not resist kissing back, knowing that nobody else now could make him feel the urge to protect you from the violent and cruel world that awaited. It was the punishment for falling in love with an Archon.

the rain thumps on your window softly. in contrast to the relentless downpour outside, your room emits a cozy glow, linen and warm.

looking down on the man sprawled across your lap, you brush his hair away from his face. he looks peaceful like this. carefree and completely relaxed, a sight of vulnerability. he wouldn’t show this side of him to anyone but you.

you’ve been waiting for this day, haven’t you?

your feather-like touch tickles the apple of his cheeks, stirring him awake.

“‘m sorry, did i wake you?” your smile so bright he squints his eyes to focus on you. you look so pretty and he loves this view. the moon’s light shines on your face, the upturned corner of your mouth and the tip of your nose. you look ethereal.

he shakes his head. “no, ‘s okay. i wasn’t even asleep anyway,” he lies through that sweet smile of his. a rush of memories hit him as he traces each crevice of your face.

he remembers how that exact smile of yours drooped slightly in devastation that day. the day he left you. the exact day of the previous year when you both swore that you would be each other’s. you remember the feeling, like a slap to the face.

so why? why was he back? and why were you so willing to take him back?

a comfortable silence takes over and you move your hand to ruffle his hair. your fingertips caress his messy mop with utmost care, as if he was going to break like glass with the slightest pressure. your fingernails scratch his scalp and he instantly relaxes. well, his arms around your waist don’t.

“we can’t keep doing this, y’know?” you sigh, rubbing his back gently. he could feel his heart weigh down and the fuzzy feeling in his chest ceases. he knows what you mean, but he wishes he doesn’t.

“keep doing what?” his voice is still raspy and tired, like it was every single morning when you woke beside him.

“this. all of this.” he hears his heart crack and he thinks you did too. “it’s wrong,” you add, ignoring how your heart thumps.

“then take me back.” you jump slightly, not expecting how immediate his response was. “if you take me back, everything will be the same again. like this all never happened,” he trailed off.

you know its sincere. you know you missed this, him. you miss his smile, his laugh, his voice. he does too. he knows you miss him, and he misses you as well.

you’re silent, and he hates when you are. he wants to hear your voice.

Tired of your antics and the horrible day he’d had, DILUC presses a hand on your mouth, preventing any coherent words and sentences from spewing out of your mouth. You let out a surprised muffled noise which he paid no attention to. His eyebrows were knitted together in irritation as he places a hand next to your head. Eyes piercing into yours before you look at everywhere but the red-head in front of you. If you had focused on his forced-smile form, you would have noticed the vein popping out of the side of his head.

‘ Damn, do you ever stop talking? ’

Happily chatting away to ITTO, you don’t realise a bee buzzing around that eventually flew next to you. He was listening to your stories however the bee had distracted him. Instead of making eye contact with you whenever you both would converse, his gaze was fixed on the bee that stuck to you like you were a flower it was tempted to pollinate. For a few moments, he wasn’t too bothered but as the time passed and the buzzing grew unbearable, he was annoyed. He slammed his hand to the wall where the bee was, crushing the poor creature between the palm of his hand and the brick wall. Your mouth snapped shut at his sudden action. Noticing your surprised face, he retracted his arm from the side of your cheek.

‘ Sorry, there was something.. You were saying? What did the traveler do again? ’

CHILDE was telling you a detailed story about his recent fights, one of them being with the ‘almighty’ traveler. You let a hum out occasionally, letting him know you were listening as you admired the glaze lilies blooming in the night, underneath the glowing moon. He saw fatui patrolling from his peripheral vision. Knowing you both kept your relationship a secret in case anyone found out and decided to question his loyalty and effort he swore would all go to the Tsarista, he pretended to interrogate you. As he expected, the fatui turned his head and watched the scene play out for a few moments before going back to his assigned task and travelling somewhere else. He sighed, removing his arms away from your head.

‘ Heh, sorry about that! Anyway, as I was saying.. ’

It was late at the tavern and you admired Diluc’s patience as he watches his own brother, KAEYA, slur his words and flirt with you. By the time he had you pressed on the wall, you wonder why Diluc had yet to throw him out. Sweet nothings were whispered in your ear as he rests his head on your shoulder, arms that were beside your head slightly dropping. Soon, exhaustion got to him as he continues to mindlessly babble incoherent noises, head resting on your chest. Your back was flat against the wall and he had pressed his own body to yours, arms fully dropping from the wall and snaking themselves around your waist.

‘ Hm, has anyone told you how pretty you are? ’

ZHONGLI has heard the term before but has yet to actually try it. Ever since you agreed to be his partner, he’s been rather curious. How you would react is his main question here. And so, naturally, he decided to experiment. Now here you were, cheeks flushed as the man in front of you leaned his face closer, his breath fanning yours. One arm wrapped around your waist, the other placed next to your head. His deep chuckle was the only thing you heard in that moment as you averted your gaze from his.

‘ Interesting.. ’

Letting his defensive side take over when you suddenly surprised him, AETHER glares at you as he places his hands firmly on the structure of what the hilichurls must’ve built near the sides of your head. A solid five seconds of silence passed before your eyes widened in surprised and you squealed, scrambling to get out of his hold. He, although surprised as well, manages to stutter an apology before hugging you, with your permission after what had just happened of course.

‘ Ah! I’m sorry, I thought you were a hilichurl.. ’

Updating KAZUHA on Kabedons was boring to be vague. The boy didn’t act all too intrigued about the topic of the conversation which led you to think he was disinterested, but you were proven wrong later in the day. You were out with him at the market, looking for some fruits to be eaten as a snack before dinner. He was talking, something about his new haiku and you were too busy inspecting the fruits. His lips were pursed in a thin line and he became quiet, quieter than usual. Yet even you didn’t notice when his talking ceased. And so to earn your attention, there he was, in front of you, pushing you to an alleyway between two inazuman houses.

‘ Put down the damn fruit and pay attention, will you? ’

Rubbing his temples, HEIZOU was stressed. He had a lot on his agenda that night and boy, saying he was exhausted was an understatement. It didn’t help his situation that you wouldn’t stop running that mouth of yours. Usually his icy glare would’ve shut you up but you’d just brushed it off and continued yapping. You were so focused on trying to annoy him for your own entertainment that you didn’t notice the chair screeching and his presence right in front of you. He squeezed your cheeks and pushed you against his desk, a hand slammed on his desk.

‘ You better shut up right now. ’

VENTI had been looking forward to your attention all day. Yet, here he is, arms wide open and you still walked past him. He pouted, a genuine pout. He’d try getting your attention but you merely just waved at him briefly before going back to your work. Did you even try looking at him, smile and then wave? He was beyond annoyed now. As you strolled around Mondstadt finding the next venue for a delivery, you were pushed on a thick pole. There you finally met him, in all his pissed off glory, narrowing his eyes as a frown was etched on his face.

‘ These packages can wait, can’t they? ’

He knew he wouldn’t admit it, but XIAO was aware that he was jealous of the traveler. How could he not? He saw you spending majority of your time with them instead of him. Have you acknowledged him at all for that whole week? He clicks his tongue, narrowing his eyes as he finally decides to confront you about it. As soon as you were alone, he pops out of nowhere and corners you under the bridge near wangshu inn. Faces so close to each other that his breath was fanning your lips.
