Entwined Hearts hasn’t been mentioned here before, but I’m glad you and everyone care to read, vote, and comment on it. I’m making sure to update the next chapters soon, at least this October, I don’t plan to take a hiatus from it. The longest I stopped writing for the story was 2 months, and now it’s a year old, around the same month date as Persona’s 25th anniversary that was pretty coincidental, really. It’s still something else when the views on Wattpad go up. 5k readers as of now have impressed me.

And thank you for the reminder of looking after myself. Writing Persona content has always been my most favorite pastimes, for both Entwined Hearts and other works. Balancing them isn’t always easy when you need to focus on one thing to finish it, but I try to maintain everything as steady as I can.

Feeling your hair being brushed aside, you stir, eyes blinking from sleepiness as you're met with Akira's tender face looking back at you. He had one hand playing with your locks while caressing the crown of your head, the other resting over your waist that was covered by the duvet.

“Aki..?” you let out tiredly.

He gives out a small smile at the sound of your morning voice, taking the time to admire your relaxed appearance. His gray irises were more sharp and apparent with his faux glasses. Before, Akira had simply chosen to wear them so he wouldn’t draw more attention to himself when he was given probation in court. Others had made comments in passing about how keen and piercing they were, but you always thought he looked good both ways. Akira knew you adored his eyes, how you’d become easily flustered when his face came closer when you didn’t expect it, and how soft they were when he gazed solely on you.

“Happy birthday, love.” Akira responded, his own sleepy voice resonating near your ear. His deep and smooth tone always had your heart fluttering.

Your lips go up as you moved to bury your face to his neck. “Not yet, you’re just a day early.”

The noiret just hums, “Doesn’t matter.” He presses a kiss to your forehead, “It just gives me even more of a reason to love and appreciate you of all days.”

You snuggle against him further, hiding your face. “You and your charm.”

He grins mischievously, “Only for you.”

“The others are planning something aren’t they?”

“You know them, celebrating is their favourite thing to do together.”

His hand goes to caress your cheek before tilting your head to look his way. “But for right now, I’m having you all to myself.” Akira leans down, smushing his lips with yours in a slow and gentle pace. Foreheads touching, and limbs tangling each other.

You feel yourself melt, with the comfort of your shared bed and his body heat, you could’ve stayed like that forever.

When you both pull apart for air, Akira lets out a breath, “Spend the day with me? I might have an early present ready for you.”

“Like you even need to ask.” you whisper against his mouth, barely apart.

When the two of you finally decided to finish your lazy morning, Akira led you into the kitchen, where he went to prepare breakfast while you checked your phone, even turning on the TV with low volume as to not disrupt the peaceful atmosphere going on.

Having these tender moments with your lover was special no matter how many years passed, you could never get enough. It was almost like living in a dream that you never wanted to forget.

Sitting together as you ate your meals, you’d occasionally go ahead to lean on his arm, pressing the side of your face to shoulder as you held his hand, cuddling his side. Affection was always more prominent when you two were alone.

“Pretty Treasure.” murmured Akira, giving you a look that could only be close as to resembling heart eyes.

Your cheeks dusted a faint shade of pink. Of all the pet names Akira called you, Treasure was by far the most intimate that included a story. Going back to your high school years as Persona users conquering Palaces and stealing unstable desires. Akira had gone to preferring you as such, the one person who held his heart in their hands. Your friends had made small jests about it once they found out, an inside joke between you.

“I think I remember you saying something about an early birthday present, Trickster?” you ignored his comment as you sipped your cup of coffee.

The man chuckles, “I did say that, didn’t I?” Akira raises your clasped hand that held his own to lay a kiss against the back of it. “Give me a minute.”

Standing up, the noiret goes to enter the kitchen again to open the fridge, leaving you to be intrigued as you watched. When he took whatever it was out, you looked a little surprised to see a small sized box in his hold. Coming over to put it on the table, Akira sat back on his seat beside you.

“Is there a pastry inside or something?” you tilt your head cutely, brows lightly scrunched.

“A bit of both.” he grinned before opening the thin box to reveal a small decorated cake, with the top spelling out HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Y/N) in bold lettering. The design was clean and smooth, showing the delicacy of its decor.

“Oh, Aki..” you beamed, curious regarding the flavour. “I love it.”

Akira smiles and gives your cheek a kiss, “Well, I know tomorrow you’re going to be getting a bigger cake than this, so I thought you might like a little extra something.” He reaches out to grab a cake knife on the table that was hidden by being covered, which was next to a lighter and a box of candles that laid facing backwards.

You almost went to kiss Akira’s whole face, but managed to compose yourself so he could plant the candles and cut the cake.

“And it’s also coffee flavoured.” he smiled cheekily.

“Of course.” you laugh, shaking your head.

Really a moment you’d never want to forget.

There’s a tremble in your shoulders that he noticed. Your hands were gripping the blanket in such a strong hood your knuckles turned white. Akira’s brows scrunched with concern as he observed more of your actions.

The two of you were at your place for a relaxing day to spend together. You spent time watching a few movies, playing video games, talking, going through the group chat in discussion of the Phantom Thieves’ next heist.

Late afternoon came by when the two of you took a nap together, lying on your bed in a cuddle.

It was peaceful at for the past 20 minutes until Akira woke up hazily to see you. Your breathing was deep, your body couldn’t help but turn over many times.

He reached a hand to brush your hair to soothe you. It already dawned on him that you were having a nightmare. And he already had a feeling on what it was.

“Treasure...” Akira’s smooth voice gently calls out.

That single word was enough to jolt you awake. Startled, you immediately sit back up and dart your eyes around the room for any suspicious movements, face in a slight panic with your body still trembling.

Your lover didn’t hesitate to embrace you, chin resting on the top of your head.

“It’s only me, (Y/N)... No one else, okay?” Akira rarely ever calls you your name unless he felt the need to.

Rubbing a hand down your back, he made sure not to linger on the healed scar for too long.

Your body seemed to ease better once you realized it was only him, and relaxed despite the small tears threatening to fall.

“Just listen to my heartbeat, Treasure. And you’ll know it’s real.” he whispered.

Feeling Akira like this, you’re met from fear to peace.

“T-thank y-you..” you manage to whimper out.

His only response back is a kiss on your forehead.

have you been doing alright lately? we haven't heard from you in a while

Oh, I’m fine. To be honest, I’ve just been taking time off from writing because of some writer’s block, unwillingly unmotivated to put thought into text, and other things in my personal life like my side job. I really do plan to get myself back into this blog and my Entwined Hearts story because I do have the same passion for them as when I first started. And that includes making those requests that haven’t been posted yet.

I won’t be inactive indefinitely, rest assured. When I come back I’ll be finishing Entwined Hearts’ chapter 16 first and then move on to write one of the requests. Though I can’t completely guarantee the plan will be followed through.

I’m regularly on Tumblr and I always check my notifications, so I pretty much keep tabs on everything. And thank you for your permission and compliment. In full honesty, I’m kind of awkward when praises are aimed specifically at me. When it comes to writing about myself, I get lost on showing expressiveness in literal words without making myself appear detached and so formal in addressing you all, compared to what I write in my stories.

I try to expand at least enough forms of writing in them for everyone and myself to like. Of course I hardly read my stories since it’s like an artist, actor, director, etc, critiquing their own work on every detail. I suppose it’s just a natural habit.
