Life in the domes getting you down? Long hours in the factories wearing you out? Scared of the clockwork automaton in your house? Have no fear, my darling, soon the Circus will be here…

Geri has been lighting up the Circus stage since she was seven as Libra, fire dancing with her stage-twin Alfie (better known as Leo to the crowds) and traveling in the Circus wagon from dome to dome. Ten years on under Circus Master McMagister’s watchful eye, she and Alfie have blossomed into the darlings of the Circus—cocky, confident, and always prepared to charm paying admirers. High-flying life as a Circus member is far better than that of a common person.

No, Geri’s not worried about Alfie’s alcohol dependence, nor the growing crowd who isn’t so charmed by the Circus, nor the shiny new clockwork automaton unveiled by the Supreme President, thank you very much. Not until an unthinkable tragedy wracks her to her very core and forces her to confront what she’s never had the courage to before: her role in life, her identity, even the very world she calls home…

It’s time for the real show to begin.

This story is very dear to my heart and I would love to share it with more people! Look for character intro posts in the near future, then I’ll gauge interest and see what I want to do about posting excerpts.

Someone please write an AU where Laurent is planning out there meeting on the battlefield.

Him walking towards Damen like a victorious valkyre! Holding the flag of their fallen enemies and casually saying "Hello lover" in front of their unified armies!

So you know that scene in King’s Rising...

Where Guion is like “you stood up the Akielons they hate you now” and Laurent goes “yes I missed my rendezvous ... there was a man I was supposed to meet” like

A) Damen is the only one he cares about in that sentence

B) he was going to “meet” him, as a man (as opposed to a slave), on the field

C) omg was that how Laurent was planning to “meet” Damianos? Did he have a plan, a speech, a script?

Character Intro

As my boys happen to be lovesick fools, I decided to design their introduction like a dating profile.

Name: Whrain will do, for now.

Age: Somewhere around 21 but honestly who cares?

Appearance: We will be faster if I just tell you where my body isn’t “decorated” with scars. I somehow managed to keep most of my, way too angular, face intact. And if you would ask the narcistic asshole who calls himself my better half, he would tell you that I have hips like a very muscular girl and the prettiest pitch black hair he’s ever seen.

Likes: Swordplay… and horses. Give me the necessary time and amount of horses and I will travel from one end of the country to the other in under a month. I’m basically tied to that saddle.

Dislikes: Anyone who gets easily over affectionate and touchy. I really dislike touching, please keep your distance folks.

I’m looking for: Someone who can put up with all the shit I have been through. I’m a depressed, combative and chronically angry person, so whoever stumbles into my life, is in for a rough ride.

I'm a fantasy writer so I'm not sure if that's the content you were asking for😅

But my story is about a young mercenary who had to team up with the enemy prince and ends up falling for him.

It's a little dark and has a lot of hurt/comfort in it but I love my two medieval idiots and I can make stupid puns about the "assassin" getting the prince in the end.
