hey! so for those of you who didn’t already know, i currently live in Japan, where same-sex marriage is not yet legal. tomorrow afternoon, the Japanese Diet is having a hearing concerning same-sex marriage, and they’re “gauging interest” based on the viewership of the livestream. basically, if people don’t watch, they’ll just write off the issue as niche and avoid it for as long as possible.

i’m posting about this here because, for ~some reason~, the hearing is to start at 1pm. on a regular thursday. when people are at work.

so, for those of you who will be awake at 1pm JST on thursday the 26th of november, i ask you to please contribute to the youtube live viewer count. i’ll put the link in a reblog.

My best friends Oliver and Oliver (yes they’re both named Oliver) are going through some really tough times. They’re two disabled trans guys and only one of them can work. He’s working 50+ hours a week trying to keep their apartment but their landlord just jacked up their rent. Even with the moratorium on evictions they’re worried she’ll try and force them out. They’re behind on rent and they have medical bills to pay too so they’re in debt and nearly homeless.

because they’re still teaching girls to walk faster at night instead of teaching boys that they shouldn’t rape.

I’m so thankful for everyone’s passion and energy to support the movement in all ways, and this is a reminder to also take care of yourself. 🙏💕It can be easy to burn out, and it’s better to continue supporting long-term versus running out of steam now. Black. Lives. Matter.

George Floyd did not deserve to die. The MILLIONS of African Americans that have died at the hands of racial injustice did not deserve to die. NO ONE deserves to die based on the color of their skin.

This blog has always stood for combatting racism and oppression in every form, and uplifting those who live for more. The very series that it is dedicated to is about an uprising and overthrowing of a corrupt system that takes advantage of its most helpless members. If you can’t understand that, then all I have to say to you is fuck. off.

To every single one of my followers - now is your opportunity to take a stand and DO SOMETHING about the injustices of our world. Not the fictional one we all read about. The one we are living in right this second.
