Draco Malfoy and his Rose

June 3rd, 1989. The Malfoy Manor. 7:34pm
Roseanne didn't grow up oblivious to the ways of Draco's parents and how they had raised their white haired boy. Narcissa and Lucius taught Draco how to dress properly, who to associate himself with even at the mere 7 years of age. He never grew up with much of a childhood, except for his close family friend; Roseanne, who helped make his life a little easier to bare. While the stoic looking boy may have a very limited amount of emotions, she brought out all of these feelings he never knew he was capable of feeling.
"Draco...?" Roseanne whispered, peeking her head around the corner nearly jumping out of her skin as she saw the poor boy getting slapped harshly by his father his body slamming onto the stone hard ground. Lucius picked up his cane, angrily storming down the hall his robes bellowing behind him. Her heart stopped in her chest, feeling her body tremble as her best friend lifted himself off the ground feeling the waves of anger radiating off of his trembling body. As she parted her lips to comfort Draco, he shoved past her muttering incoherent sounds.
The young girl let herself calm down brushing her hair from her flushed face making her way to the living room as she heard her mother call for her, the sound of her heeled shoes echoed throughout the house announcing her arrival to the three adults seated. The Malfoy's living room was rather grand, with leather sofas nearly reflecting from the small light hitting them, white and gray patterned pillows were neatly placed on the seats and cushions. On their marble floor there was white, fluffy rug that covered most of the living room floor.
"Rose, we wanted to speak to you about something rather important." Aquila's voice wavered slightly, but not enough for her daughter to notice who just gave her a big grin sitting down across from them. Narcissa placed a gentle hand on her best friends shoulder, as her way of offering some comfort. Roseanne peered at her mother's eyes, noting that they had grown rather glossy feeling her body tense up as her mind ran with an endless amount of possibilities.
"Your mom has to go away for a while. I took up this new job and it requires me to go on long, across the country trips..." Rose froze, twiddling with the hem of her dress as she stared at her mother who gave her a reassuring smile, "Narcissa and Lucius have been ever so kind to me, giving me a place to call home but I could never ask them to help me with this. As a result of that... you will be staying with your father, until I return-"
“W-what are you talking about? I don't even know my father-” The panicked tone of her voice gave her away, standing up rather abruptly her legs feeling weak. Rose’s curly locks fell over her face, trembling as her mother stood up enveloping the small girl into her arms. The young girl tightly hugged her mother squeezing her eyes shut, the sweet scent of honey and cinnamon overwhelming her senses. Aquilla ran her fingers through her soft curls, blinking away the stinging sensation coming from her eyes.
"Don't worry about that, my petal. You'll be okay...everything will be okay."
August 28th, 1996. The Leaky Cauldron. 2:26pm
A loud laugh left the young girls lips, setting the large class cup on the wooden table. The gentleman across from her grinned, dimples poking through his scars and thousands of freckles covering his face, running his scarred hand through his golden brown locks. Hope eyed the young man, admiring the way he carried himself, and that breathtaking grin she thanked him for every chance she got. Remus would have never imagined he would be as happy as he was at this very moment, his daughter sitting across from him looking like a spitting image of him, except for her vibrant grey eyes which she inherited from her mother.
The young wizard had spent nearly 7 years with his daughter, shortly after her mother dropped her off at his home in France. Remus Lupin and his young daughter bonded right sway, at the first few sentences exchanged between the pair of them. Rose decided to go by Hope once she started school, wanting a fresh start with all these new people and the breathtaking language, she was currently fluent in French and Spanish along with her mother tongue; English. During her 3rd Year, her father was called to teach at another school so she stayed at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, with a friend who gladly let her spend her summer with their family. Her father didn't stay away for long, coming back shortly before the school year was over which she was thankful for.
"I may not look like much of a trouble maker, but those boys are the reason why I am no longer afraid to be who I am,"
"Oh, I can tell. Who else can say their father blew up the boys bathroom their 1st Year at Hogwarts? No one, that's who," Hope teased as she finished the last of her orange juice, giving her father a smirk.
They were one of the few people at the Leaky Cauldron, considering it was only 2 in the afternoon and the sun was unbearably hot at this time of the day. The girl gazed outside, fiddling with her wand as she saw people pass by the open windows laughter being heard all the way from inside. Heaving herself up from the creaky wooden chair, setting a few sickles on the table making her way towards the back door. The sound of Remus hurrying after her, made the girl grin as she motioned towards the brick wall, her nerves getting the best of her as he tapped a few bricks seeing the wall start to shift rather quickly.
“Wow...everything is so..so tres beau” Hope's eyes widened as she tried to take in everything before her, the life of everyone roaming around with a sense of urgency made the place look like it was alive. The chatter of kids her age laughing and going and out of stores, like a series of ants looking for food, feeling her mouth shift into a rather large grin. Remus chuckled thinking back to when he first saw Diagon Alley, when he tugged his parents into every store imaginable.
"Oui... don't worry about your school supplies, H, I already have everything taken care of. We can go around and look for things you might like, some books or some color changing ink?"
"Color changing what now? How come you never told me?! That's so sick!" The overjoyed girl squealed, running away from her grinning father who shook his head at her enthusiasm, leading Hope to Scribbulus Writing Instruments where the clerk looked more than happy to help the girl with the bouncing locks. After he showed her the different types of colors they changed to and from, she decided on a gold ink that changed into a breathtaking emerald green. Remus took the girl to buy a few books that caught her attention, along with a pretty white quill that she adored.
After what seemed like hours, they began to head towards the pub not before Hope bumped into a tall ginger, sending her tumbling to the ground along with her color changing ink. The shimmering ink splattered everywhere, glistening in the afternoon sun, maneuvering it's way along the cracks on the sidewalk. Hope helped herself off the floor, helping her father in mending the broken flask and returning the ink back into the glass container. She turned rather briskly towards the ginger, flashing him a look as he stared at her father as if he had just seen a ghost, tightening the grip on her wand. Her blood boiled just thinking of what crude comment would be coming out from his mouth as he eyed the two of them, his two friends standing alongside him with the same look.
"Harry! I almost didn't see you there, how are you doing? Good? Great! Ron, Hermione how are you guys doing?"
"We're doing quite alright, Professor. I'm incredibly sorry for bumping into you, I tend to be a bit clumsy at times. The name's Ron Weasley," The ginger blushed, jutting his hand out for her to shake, the grip on her wand loosening tucking it into her pocket shaking his hand firmly, sending him a soft smile," this is Harry, and this is Hermione." Hope greeted the other two, her reddening cheeks fading as she stepped closer to Remus as they continued speaking about school. From what she understood, her dad taught the three of them during their 3rd Year, to which they told her about how he was the best teacher they've ever had.
"I never caught your name," The dark haired boy whose eyes were a crazy shade of green, who she now knew as Harry muttered, locking eyes with her. Hope ran her hand through her hair, shuffling awkwardly as all the attention shifted towards the girl with the streaks of honey in her hair, freckles scattered on her rosy cheeks.
"I go by Hope. It's been nice to meet you but we’re running a little behind schedule. Au revoir!" Hope grinned, tugging her dad alongside her as they made their way back to where they first came from. They spoke of school, and if she would be nervous about starting her school year without any friends. She shook her head, thinking back to the boy with the green eyes and smiling down at the sidewalk as they neared the wall of bricks once more. Hope turned to her dad, whose face looked rather expectant of her answer.
"I won't be going to school all on my own, Dad. All those people you spoke so fondly of will be there,” Her wandering eyes turned to eye the trio who were laughing, looking around at all the windows. Without a second passing, the green eyed boy turned around giving a small wave to the girl who sent an over exaggerated wave back at him, making the shy boy grin. Remus eyed the pair praying that his little girl wouldn't be growing up anytime soon, wanting to keep her as close as possible, wrapping an arm around her shoulders making their way back to their little place they called home.
September 1st, 1996. Hogwarts Express. 10:47am
Hope felt her heart break as she waved goodbye to her father, whose eyes were swimming with tears knowing his little girl would soon be where he once stood many years ago. She closed the window to her little compartment, letting out a loud chuckle as she saw the different types of sweets her father packed into her satchel snatching a small chocolate ball, popping it into her mouth as she watched last minute students board the train. A knock to the door caught her attention, facing a pair of ginger twins whose grins were wider than the gap between them.
"Do you mind if we join you? Every other compartment is full, and you looked awfully lonely," She shook her head as she giggled at their remark, beckoning them in to which they hurried inside placing all of their belongings above the seat across from her, planking themselves in front of the girl giving her a teasing wink. Hope rolled her eyes, lifting an eyebrow at the pair eyeing them head to toe, noticing they looked rather familiar but she couldn't quite place why.
"Checking us out, love?"
"Quite the opposite really. Do you guys happen to have a younger brother?"
"Why yes we do."
"Why do you ask?"
"I met him the other day, and he seemed rather nice. Along with a guy named Harry, and a rather serious looking girl named-"
"Hermione" The twins stated unanimously, crossing their arms at the same time giving Hope a knowing look. She eyed the two, crossing her legs while opening her book back up to the page she had previously left off on, choosing to ignore the gingers blabbering in front of her. Hope spent half of the ride on the train speaking to the twins when they asked her a question, which happened nearly every 5 to 10 minutes, but she didn't mind. Somewhere in the midst of all that, she changed into her plain black robes, trying to hide the fact that she was new to Hogwarts as a 16 year old.
"You seem awfully tired. Were you up all night?”
“Maybe she was looking at the sky last night, Freddie. I’m sure we weren’t the only ones watching the full moon.”
“It was huge!”
“I heard it was the brightest, and closest it's been to Earth in a while, actually." That remark made her a little antsy, sitting upright trying to give Fred a little nonchalant look attempting to get comfortable against the moving wall. She gave up trying to sleep, reaching into her satchel for some sweets before George squeezed his way in between her and the bag of candy. A pout formed on her lips, angling her body away from the ginger, whose scent smelled absolutely ravishing. The tall boy patted his shoulder, flashing her a reassuring smile.
"The wall doesn't look too comfy, but my shoulder on the other hand I've heard is pretty award winning." George chimed, inching closer to the brunette, she sighed allowing herself to rest her head on his shoulder. Hope wasn't complaining at the ginger flirting with her, as long as she was able to rest at least for a couple hours before they arrived. The scent of cinnamon lingered around him, wrapping his arm around the sleeping brunette, face flushing pink as Fred sent him a wink, who was currently making his way out of the compartment. Hope nuzzled further into George, feeling their bodies mold together as time passed by, enjoying the way the older boy held onto her as if she was as delicate as glass. This year was surely going to be interesting.
September 1st, 1996. Hogwarts. 7:12pm
Hope marveled at the gorgeous castle standing before her, brushing her hair away from her face as the cool wind made its way through the sea of students. She locked eyes with a familiar figure, bursting into a sprint as she ran towards the tall, dark haired man the cold wind slapping her across the face before coming to an abrupt stop. Severus looked down at the girl, a scowl engraved on his pale skin but melted almost instantly as he realized who was standing before him. The 9 year old girl had grown so much, over the last 7 years since he'd seen her, her face practically glowing with happiness as she looked up at him. Severus looked around at all the students, as they passed by going out of their way to ignore the Potions Professor.
"Follow me." His voice made its way into her ears, taking tentative steps after the man she considered to be like an older brothero. He had grown fond of the girl, after countless of visits at the Malfoy manor, slowly wedging his way into her life until she was ripped away from him by her father. Severus was incredibly confused as to why this girl was here, considering Aquila hadn't returned and she never sent an owl informing him of her arrival. As he moved her into a rather empty hallway, she looked up at the Professor nearly bursting into tears as he sent her a comforting smile.
"You've grown up so much..." She grinned widely throwing her arms around the tall man, swaying back and forth as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her just as tightly. He pulled away from her, eyeing her face noting she had truly received many of her mothers characteristics a small smile resting on his face. Hope nudged Severus, motioning towards the commotion of people nearing their corridor which made him snap out of his trance. After a few last words of reassurance he opened the double doors. The second she opened the doors, every living and nonliving soul stared at the young girl. She blushed profusely, looking up at Severus whose face was expressionless as he grabbed her by her arm and walked her to where all the 1st Years looked like they were about to pass out. He gave her a curt nod, the sound of his shoes clicking against the floor broke everyone out of their trance and the whispers proceeded to occur.
"Silence. Now, before we begin the Sorting Hat Ceremony, we have a new student joining us today. Unlike any of the students you see standing before you, she is a 6th Year from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Please give a warm welcome, to Ms. Hope Aquilla Lupin." The ear defining sound of clapping rung through her ears, giving a soft smile to Professor Dumbledore who clapped alongside everyone else.
Once Dumbledore gave the okay to Professor McGonagall, she proceeded to call out every first years name from a sheet of parchment. Hope stared in awe as the Sorting Hat went to work, her mind going back to the countless stories her father had told her of his time at Hogwarts. By the time they had gotten to her, every other student had been sorted which left her to stand at the very middle of the Great Hall for everyone to stare at. Professor McGonagall motioned her over, holding the hat in her weathered hands. Hope made her way up the steps, plopping down on the wooden stool proceeding to wipe her sweaty palms on her robes. The feeling of the hat being placed on her head sent her into a panic, tapping her thigh out of habit jumping as the hat began to hum in her ear.
"Ahh...very difficult indeed, very difficult. Your mother was incredibly brilliant in Slytherin, yes... you would do very well. On the other hand... your father was as brave as they could get, you would be outstanding in Gryffindor."
"Really?"
"Why of course! Your talents are endless, but I do feel something... a huge heart. Absolutely tremendous. Nothing but pureness coming from you. Ahhh... of course. How about... HUFFLEPUFF!" Hope felt a burst of joy wash over her, hopping off the wooden stool as she made her way to the table closest to her, introducing herself to the few people sitting around her. She scanned her surroundings, seeing flashes of yellow, green, blue and red as they all talked to one another. The ceiling above her seemed to call her, feeling her heart swell as she saw her favorite star winking at her.
"Let the feast begin"
September 1st, 1996. Hogwarts Corridor. 12:45am
Hope had a rather interesting encounter with the Weasley twins after they tracked her down after the feast was over, and decided to show her around before curfew. But they didn't have a great sense of time and it was well past curfew before they dropped her off where they last found her, running back to the Gryffindor Common Room shouting something about homework for Snape. She sighed, looking around at the large castle that seemed to taunt her as she attempted to find her away around. After an hour of mindless wandering, she gave up muttering nox to her wand as she stuffed it into her robe. Hope ran her fingers through her hair deciding to follow the stairs that were laid out in front of her, letting her fingers run over the aging stone walls. After a few quiet moments of trudging up the stairs, she came across the open sky her mouth falling open at the sight of the stars from up high. The tired girl sat down near the edge of the tower, cuddling against the rough wall beside her peering out over Hogwarts feeling herself relax. The cold autumn air brushed over her exposed skin, making the small girl shiver tugging the robe closer to her.
"What are you doing up here? You know I could get you in trouble for staying outside of your common room past curfew-"
"Aren't you also out of bed past curfew, mon amie?" Hope muttered letting her voice echo across the tower, nuzzling into the warm material of the robe surrounding her shutting her eyes close. The person standing a few feet away from her huffed loudly, the sound of their footsteps coming closer made Hope tense up, holding onto her wand just in case they tried to pull anything on her. A sharp intake of breath caught her attention, prying her eyes open blinking away the bleariness attempting to catch a glimpse of the strange voice.
"Rose?" Hope bolted up from her seating position, feeling her body stumble as she locked eyes with a familiar pair of grey eyes. A gasp left her parted lips, lifting her hand up to her chest fiddling with the necklace he had gifted the brunette. She scanned the tall blonde standing before her. Draco aged like fine wine.
His milky skin sculpted rather nicely his body looming over her. His gleaming blue eyes slanted as he eyed the girl standing before him. Hope took notice of how his dark robes were filled out quite nicely. She let out a heartwrenching cry, throwing herself at her best friend holding him like it was the last thing she would do. His toned arms wrapped her into a tight hug, rocking her back and forth inhaling the familiar scent of honey emitting from her.
"W-what are you doing here?"
"My dad thought it best to let me come to Hogwarts for my last three years, and- and here I am! I have so much to tell you, Mal. But before I do, I'm incredibly mad at myself. I can't believe I completely forgot you also went here, holy-"
The blabbering girl was cut off by the blonde smothering her face against his chest, his grip on her tight as he swayed them back and forth. Hope felt her fingers clutch at his robes, holding him as close to her as she possibly could inhaling his sweet scent. She was scared to let him go, too afraid to think she would wake up and it would all be a dream.
Their bodies fit perfectly against one another. Draco felt as if the universe was whole once more knowing his rose was back in his life letting out a heavy sigh kissing the top of her head of curls. After years of restless nights, he could feel all the anxiety and fear leave his body, feeling at peace knowing she was safe.

For Merlin’s Sake
Word Count: 3,525 words
Warnings: slight cussing, mentions of death
June 18th, 6th Century. Outside the City of Camelot. 6:59 pm.
She couldn’t breath. Not one bit. Her whole face had practically turned a different color, soaked in sweat. After riding on her horse for 5 consecutive days she was practically wavering, without rest and with little water and food in take for herself. She made sure her lovely horse had plenty of food and water, making sure not to ware her out. But she couldn't help it, she promised her father she would not stop. Not until she reached the heart of Camelot to speak with a man. A man she hadn't seen in nearly a decade. As she approached further into the palace, she took notice of the way the Knights had grown weary of a girl riding in on horseback, a large cape and hood hiding her identity. The brunette slowed her horse down, running her free hand along the neck of her horse before coming to a complete stop in the middle of the courtyard. Alice expertly hopped off, taking a hold of the lead being stopped from taking any further steps as the Knights approached her their swords at the ready.
"Show yourself," Alice let out a slight sigh, hastily removing the hood from her face letting all of her curls fall loosely onto her face. She stared intently at the one who had asked her to do so, whose eyes had widened slightly at the sight of blood trailing down the side of her head.
"You are injured. Let us take you to-"
"I'm fine. I promise. I hit my head on a rather large branch while riding here, nothing a little water and crushed yarrow won't fix." She spoke clearly, thanking the fellow who offered to take her horse from her as she made her way to what she assumed was the leader of the Knights. She gave him a warm smile, offering her hand as a sign of peace knowing it would help gain a bit of trust, "The name's Alice. I come from a long ways away. I've been riding for about 5 days, so I apologize if I caused any fear by arriving abruptly."
"No need, m'lady. I am Sir Leon, Knight of Camelot." he sent a comforting smile, shaking her hand briefly before releasing it. "May I ask why you are here?"
"I came to visit someone. I'm not quite sure if you know who they are, or if they still reside in Camelot but it's extremely important that I find them... his name is Merlin." At the mention of his name, the 5 Knights before her perked up looking around at one another as one of them stepped up. He had dark brown hair, and a slight amount of stubble on his chiseled cheeks and he had a slight aura of him that just screamed; innocence.
"I'm Sir Lancelot. Merlin is a friend of ours, we'll gladly take you to him."
"Thank you so much, it would mean the world to me." Alice bowed her head out of respect towards the Knights before following in hot pursuit after them, holding onto the layers of coats and outer layers as she ran up the stone steps so she wouldn't trip.
June 18th, 6th Century. Outside the King’s Chamber. 7:15 pm.
Alice stood nervously besides Sir Gwaine, who had taken a liking to the short girl currently having a hand on the small of her back. The only Knights who were currently with Alice were Sir Leon, Sir Lancelot and Sir Gwaine as they didn't want to take away from their training session. Once Sir Leon knocked and had received a clear enter, they made their way with Alice sticking close to Gwaine.
"Sire, we have someone who seeks Merlin. She says it's rather urgent, but we can come back later if you would prefer." Alice took a quick peak at their king, nearly toppling over as she saw how drop dead gorgeous he looked even in his armor. But what caught her off guard was the 6 foot tall of a man residing beside the king, currently fixing the red cape around his shoulders, once he had turned around they both made eye contact. Merlin's body stiffened, his body going numb as he saw a face he never thought he would see again. Alice stood there in a pair of trousers, similar to his, except she had a rather tight fitting top that was tucked into them adorned by a dark brown belt. The layers she had on over covered most of her body, but he knew that she would be wearing her signature cream colored button up with most of the strings undone.
"No, I’m quite alright. Merlin? You're free to go."
"Thank you sire" Merlin gave a brief nod, making his way towards Alice offering his arm out to her, letting her loop her arm through his as they made their way to his chambers. The awkward silence that followed was nearly unbearable, but they knew they couldn't utter a word unless it was under the comfort of Merlin's room. She tightened her grip on his arm, leaning further into his touch as they approached the room.
"Alice.." He breathed out as he shut the door his room shut, bringing the princess into his arms holding her tightly. Her arms wrapped around him playing with the dark hair on the nape of his neck, feeling herself melt into his familiar embrace. Alice grinned squeezing her eyes shut, letting the brunette sway them back and forth. After a short couple of minutes Merlin slowly released the girl, keeping his hands on her waist.
"What brought you here? Is your father okay-"
"My father... he passed away a couple weeks ago. He grew very sick... but while on his death bed he gave me this," The girls voice wavered, reaching for the string around her neck containing the gift her father had given her, holding it tightly in her fist showing it to Merlin whose eyes had grown wide looking back up at her.
"The Royal Seal...b-but I thought your brother-"
"After my father fell ill, my brother wasn't able to handle it. He realized how quickly he would have to become king, and have to handle all the people in our kingdom so he fled. Once my father had heard the news, he knew that I would be the best person to take over. When he passed, I went on a search for my brother for a couple weeks but I haven't had any success in finding him. Which is when I made the decision to come find the one person I knew could help me; you. " Merlin ran his thumb over her small hands, chewing on his bottom lip thoughtfully his train of thought being broken by her hands freeing themselves from his grasp. Alice cupped his face looking intently into his piercing eyes, giving him a weak smile.
"It would be an honor to be able to help you. However, I think you should tell Arthur who you are. That way, if anything happens, at least he will know instead of thinking I'm sneaking around with some girl."
"Oh, I'm just some girl now, aren't I Merlin?" Alice teased, pulling away from the sorcerer whose cheeks were a light shade of pink. His mouth opened and closed a couple times, trying to think of a way to take back what he said. The bewildered look on his face made the princess giggle making her way over to his bed and sprawled herself on it. She sighed contently, letting her tired eyes flutter shut as she melted into the bed. "Even though this bed feels like a stack of hay, this is the most comfortable I have been in 3 weeks. Sleeping on a solid ground has and will never be comfortable, no matter how many blankets I bring."
"Arthur's told me that I make a pretty cozy bed," Merlin grinned down at Alice, poking her side as she let out a loud snort at his comment rolling over so he could sit down. She pried her heavy eyelids open, giving Merlin her best puppy eyes as he made himself comfortable with his back on the stone wall.
"Sleep with me,"
"I-I'm sorry?" His eyes were wide a breath stuck in his throat, feeling his face growing hot as she blinked innocently up at him. She fiddled with the blue shirt he was wearing, her bottom lip slightly jutted as she grinned.
"Is that a crime? I haven't had a proper nights rest and my body feels 30 pounds heavier now that it has made itself comfortable. And... I miss being able to fall asleep next to my favorite person," As Merlin realized that the princess had no other intentions other than taking a small nap, he felt himself relax nodding his head rather reluctantly. She smiled excitedly, letting Merlin scoot down so she could lay her head on his chest. His toned arms wrapped around her, holding her tight to him as he took notice of her rapid decrease in her breathing and heart rate. Her free hand was tracing patterns onto his chest, smiling to herself because she didn't feel like anything else mattered. Of course their relationship was frowned upon, but Alice never was one to pay attention to the rules or judge anyone for their class. As her unconscious mind started to take over, she felt her body growing tired letting herself relax just as Merlin had also grown quite relaxed as he rubbed circles onto her arm feeling his body melt into a dream state.
June 19th, 6th Century. Merlin’s Room. 9:03 am.
"Merlin... Merlin! You better unlock this door and explain to me why in the world you didn't come back last night. I had to undress on my own, and now my armor-”
"Merlin...honey. I think your precious king is calling you," Alice whispered against Merlin's chest, feeling him jolt up sending the small girl tumbling off the bed. She groaned quietly against the hard floor, giving him a thumbs up as she made herself comfortable with her cheek pressed against the cold stone. Merlin hastily opened the door to his bedroom, hiding his room from Arthur's eyes as he came face to face with the king. Merlin gave him his goofy grin, trying to ignore the death glare Arthur was currently giving him.
"Do you have a good explanation as to why you have been gone for over 15 hours?"
"Well, you did tell me I was good to go," Before Merlin could finish what he was saying, Arthur shoved past him which sent Merlin into a frenzy as he realized Alice was still on the floor, "Arthur! I can explain,"
"You can explain as to why you have a body on the floor of your bedroom?"
"That's entirely my fault, sire." Alice groaned, heaving herself off the ground throwing her heavy coats onto Merlin's bed. She caught glance of Arthur, noting they were wearing almost the exact same outfit except for the sword hanging off his hip, "I wanted to go to bed after riding for 3 weeks, not including the time it took to travel here. I suppose I never realized how tired I truly was. I take blame for keeping him from you,"
"W-well, it's quite alright. I don't think you meant any harm." Arthur stumbled over his words, eyeing the girl with intense curiosity at the way she spoke. Alice stood alongside Merlin, nudging him playfully giving both the king and his servant breathtaking grins. Before Arthur could make his way out, he took notice of the ring dangling around her neck. He took a couple steps forward, taking a hold of the necklace twirling it in between his fingers as the girl froze underneath him.
"The Royal Seal of Cambia... how did you get this?" Alice glanced over at Merlin who gave her a knowing smile, throwing her a wink. The princess took a hold of the ring from Arthur's hands, removing the necklace from around her neck running her finger over the symbol.
"My father- he gave it to me before he passed. It would have gone to my brother, but he left as soon as he realized that his foreseen future wasn't as far as he thought it was.” She ran her fingers through her curls, sighing heavily. “I went looking for him after my father passed, but I haven't had any luck. I came to Camelot looking for Merlin, the only person I trust to help me in something like this... except he convinced me that telling you would be the best thing to do. So, here I am. I do apologize for not telling you earlier,"
"I apologize to you, your highness. If I had known, then I could have gotten you a proper bed to sleep in. This is no room for-"
"My lord... I can assure you, it was quite alright. I will bring all of my belongings and clothes together, and Merlin will lead me to the spare bedroom. You have nothing to worry about," She flashed him a quick smile, seeing his cheeks grow red as he bowed his head at the princess before he made his way out of the room closing the door behind him. Alice smacked the giggling boy, turning to gather her clothes and stuff them into an extra bag she had carried along throwing it at Merlin who caught it with ease. She bent down to grab her other bags but was shoved aside as Merlin gathered them all in his arms giving the princess a cheeky grin pressing a small kiss to her cheek.
"Grab your sword and then we can head to your room. You might want to hurry before I take the offer up, and you'll be stuck with me,"
"That doesn't sound too bad-"
"Don't tempt me, Alice," He shouted over his shoulder, letting a small smile creep onto his face as he heard her laugh from his room. Alice shook her head at him, shoving her sword into the sword holder letting her hair loose from the half up half down hairstyle it was in. She jogged to catch up to Merlin who was already making his way down the stairs, wrapping her arms around his shoulders shaking the brunette playfully.
"What's got you in such a hurry? You ready to get rid of me?"
"Of course." He teased, turning to look at his best friend whose face seemed just as joyous as his. She shoved him playfully, making a run for it down the stairs as she heard him run after her. Loud shrieks of laughter and excitement left her body as she nearly fell as he caught her around her waist, pulling her close to his chest. She felt his breath against her neck, turning to face him pressing a kiss to his nose.
"Lead the way, Merl..."
September 25th, 6th Century. The Armory. 2:38 pm.
Alice let out a loud laugh as she watched Merlin and the Knights tossing Elyan's helmet around, quieting down as she watched Arthur walk in and snatch the helmet from midair. They locked eyes momentarily, the princess throwing a quick wink his way.
"I would like to have a meeting with all of you, including you Alice. Would you mind walking with me as the Knights change out of their armor?"
"Of course not, sire. Excuse me, sir knights," Alice smiled at the young guys she's grown to consider friends, making her way out of the armory walking alongside King Arthur. Once she knew they were out of earshot she nudged into him playfully, which made the tall man chuckle.
"You know... this meeting I called is for you,"
"For me? Why- oh... Arthur. I thought we agreed to keep this in between the two of us... what if they start treating me differently?" The girl had stopped in the middle of the corridor, maintaining eye contact with the King as he let out a loud sigh. Even though Arthur stood a little over half a foot taller than her, she still tried to show that she wasn't about to back down without an argument.
"I want to be able to take you alongside me to missions, and know that you're fully protected from any harm..."
"Arthur, you are too kind. But, I can assure you I can fully take care of myself. Alongside my brother, I am the most skilled fighter in the kingdom. I could take down half your knights blindfolded, no offence," Arthur let a small laugh slip, before bringing his hands to hold onto her smaller hands, "Before you go and make me feel all bad, I give you permission to tell your knights. I understand your concern and if it helps ease your mind whilst in battle then so be it."
"Thank you. And after we tell them, maybe you can show off some of those moves," Alice laughed tugging the blonde along to the meeting room, ignoring the blush that made its way onto her cheeks. Arthur felt his heart soar as he looked down at the princess, trying to ignore the butterflies in his tummy. The two nobels waited a few short moments before the Knights and Merlin waltzed their way into the room.
"If you could all take a seat, Alice and I have some important news we wish to discuss," A look of curiosity flashes across all of their faces except Merlin who seemed pleasantly surprised. Alice felt a wave of heat wash over her, removing the cape draped around her shoulders along with the long sleeved jacket leaving her in a white blouse with the first few buttons left open, “Alice here, is Princess of Cambia. She didn’t want anyone to know because she didn’t want to alert anyone of her presence. But after I caught her in my servants room, she thought it best to tell me of why she was here.”
The look that flashes across everyone's faces seemed rather similar to what she expected to see. She bit at her bottom lip rather nervously, tucking a loose curl behind her ear flashing the Knights a smile. They no longer looked at her with that friendly stare, but more like a robotic stare like they were meant to look at her like that.
“Please don’t treat me any different. I am still Alice. Just a girl trying to find her brother, and hoping to make a difference with all the near kingdoms. Alright? I could still beat all of you blindfolded, especially you Gwaine,” She teased, which in turn made all the Knights burst out laughing except for Gwaine who just smirked up at the princess,” and one more thing. Merlin and I will be departing in two days, and we aren’t exactly sure when we will be back but I can assure you. Merlin will take good care of me.”
“My lady-”
“But what if you bring just two of us-”
“At least bring me-”
The sound of their voices overlapping each others, including Arthur who seemed rather ticked off at the idea of the princess and Merlin being off in the middle of nowhere all on their own. Alice raised her hand, which in turn made all the blabbering Knights come to a halt. Arthur tightened his hold on the leather belt surrounding his waist, eyeing the brunette who stood shifting his weight as he never took his eyes off of Alice.
“I don’t want to leave Camelot unprotected, so if, and only if I decided to take any of you, I will only take 3 not including Merlin.” They nodded their heads understandingly, except for Arthur whose face had remained rather stoic. Alice looked over the blonde flashing him a warm smile which he returned happily, feeling a light blush sprinkle his pale skin. He waved a hand at the Knights as a sign of dismissal, they bowed their heads at the King and shuffled out the door leaving Arthur, Alice and Merling to stand around the table rather awkwardly.
“I think that went rather well-”
“Alice?”
“Yes, sire?”
“I have a slight question,” He muttered out, feeling a blush creeping up his neck setting his large hand on the back of the chair looking over at Alice who was looking at him rather intently,” I was wondering if I could join you and Merlin.”
Alice’s eyes flickered over to Merlin whose eyes had grown rather wide, his thumbs fiddling together. The deafening silence that followed almost made her want to crawl into a hole, and never come out.
“Arthur... I would love to have you,” Arthur felt his heart swell, feeling a smile make it’s way onto his face loosening his grip around the back of the chair,” but... I can’t. Merlin told me how you feel about magic, and what the rule here in Camelot is, and I don’t think I’ll be able to find my brother without it-”
“Forget about the law, I want to keep you safe, Alice. Magic or no magic. I would do anything to ensure your safety.” Merlin’s lips parted feeling his body stop functioning as he reminisced on Arthur’s words, locking eyes with Alice whose face was as a pink as a cherry blossom. She felt a smile creeping onto her face, biting her bottom lip to stop herself from grinning.
“Well... I suppose 4 people is always better than 3.”

The Girl with the Golden Eyes | Draco Malfoy x Reader
November 26th, 1993. The Courtyard. 3:37 pm.
Olive thrust her wand towards the white haired boy, a protective shield hovering in front of his scrunched up face deflecting the spell, flashing a quick grin as it bounced off and sped towards the red head. Ron didn't have a chance to react before his own spell came bouncing back, his body jolting rather aggressively before being flung backwards. A slight movement caught her eye, turning towards the bushy haired girl, Hermione, who had her wand pointed at the short haired witch. Her face was flushed, the grip on her wand was tight eyeing the girl up and down noticing she wasn't wearing school robes. The girl who had just knocked Ron off his feet had a pair of jeans on, that were ripped and a white t-shirt tucked into the dark denim. Over her outfit she had a dark cloak, that resembled something Professor Snape would wear, the cloak coming to just above the ground, skimming over the tall slivers of grass on the ground.
"Who do you think you are?” Hermione questioned, taking small steps towards the unknown girl whose eyes were eyeing her wearily. Students had crowded around the two girls, whispers and murmurs were heard as they came closer together. The tension was heavy in the air, as they both eyed each other rather intensely. Draco had made his way up onto his feet, an unreadable expression on his face his eyes wide as he eyed Olive angrily glaring at the Golden Trio. The two guys were eyeing their bushy haired friend, wands drawn in case they needed to use them against the girl with the wide grin on her face.
"The name is Olive. Ya know, you shouldn't cast spells at people where everyone can see, Weasley. Draco may talk a lot of bull, but he knows how to duel. Did you really expect to have a father like his, and not know how to defend yourself?" A crisp southern accent cut through the everlasting silence, swiftly pocketing her wand brushing her short curls out of her face. Taking a few strides away from the three her robes flowing behind her much like someone they knew, slowing her movements down before coming to a complete stop on the cracked stone turning on her heel a smile on her face.
"Oh and have a good day.”
November 26th, 1993. The Astronomy Tower. 10:58 pm.
A loud laugh left her lips as she flung her body off the Astronomy Tower, feeling the harsh winds slap her face rather fiercely the familiar pain coursing through her body, her body shifting rather rapidly. The previously tan skin, was now covered in vibrantly red feathers small slivers of gold embedded into the softness of her body. High above her the moon was was shining brightly, illuminating the ground below her soaring body, her wings giving strong strokes against the wind, heading towards the outskirts of the forest.
Quietly shifting back as she spotted a head of white hair making its way over to her his grey eyes scanning his surrounding, a tight grip on his wand, she jumped down from the tops of the tree rather harshly and landing on her feet right in front of the frightened boy. She grinned, tilting his wand down to the ground before he attempted to shoot any spells at her, wrapping her arms around the grey eyed boy she'd grown fond of. Draco placed his wand away, hurriedly pressing a long awaited kiss to her lips a sense of warmth washed over the girl before hungrily kissing him back, eyes fluttering close pulling her flushed body against his, deepening the kiss. Olive giggled, running her fingers through his gel free hair enjoying the feeling of his toned arms around her waist. After a short couple of minutes, they finally detached from one another their lips swollen an amused glint in their eyes.
"I've missed you,"
"What took you so long, petal?"
"I wanted to finish my mission first, before I came back. It took a while, and I'm sorry but Dumbledore got me sorted, privately of course, and I'm glad to announce that you're looking at a 4th Year Hufflepuff. Gah I've been wanting to go to this school for years, and I get to finally spend these next few years with my lovely 3rd Year boyfriend, " Olive mockingly teased her boyfriend, entwining their hands having already started walking to their 'spot', which coincidentally happened to be where they first met. He let out a scoff, a teasing sound in his voice earned himself a smack on the back of the head by the curly haired witch. Olive knew she wasn't older than Draco, if anything she was younger than him by a couple of months. Currently he was in his 4th Year at Hogwarts but she just so happened to have started school early so she was ahead of him but not enough to be a year ahead so she just took advanced classes, that truly ticked him off at first but he found it as a way to show off his girl. She loved to call him a 3rd Year, as a way to push his buttons, but he found it adorable that his girlfriend who happened to be younger than him, was ahead of him school wise. A chuckle left his lips, leaning down to peck her lips apologetically, lightly pulling away from her soft touch. His body stumbling forward as she grabbed a hold of his collar, his eyes growing wide. Her tiny hands pulled him closer to her, their lips crashing into each other one again.
"Beautiful...absolutely gorgeous. Never letting you leave my side ever again," Mumbling against her lips, peppering her face with soft wet kisses sending the witch into a fit of giggles. She playfully smacked his chest, a wide grin on her face as he tightened his grip on her waist effortlessly lifting her off the ground. The wind ruffled her hair, vision becoming blurry from the quick movement. Draco's laughter grew as he twirled her around in the autumn air, his grip on her body was tight afraid to let his girl drop. Both of their laughter's echoed through the peaceful silence, subsiding slowly when he let her back onto the plush grass.
"Show me what I've been missing out on, petal..." His sultry voice sent shivers down her spine, warm lips pressing onto her rather cold cheek pulling away too quickly for her liking. Olive ripped her robes off, the dark fabric falling onto the grass a dark grey sweater adorning her body nicely. Her tan legs on display from the skirt flowing freely from the wind, a pair of long grey knee high socks hiding her toned calves. Clasping her hands together, a familiar prickling sensation rushed down to her palms, shutting her eyes rapidly drawing her hands apart as a trail of flames emitted from her palms. The flickering flames licked their way up her arms growing increasingly bigger, the orange hue framing Draco's face his eyes wide in amazement. The last time he had seen her powers was in 1st Year, and at the time she had small tricks up her sleeves, but by the sight of the ever growing flames he had noticed that her powers had grown in a such a short period of time and it was incredible.
The young girl twirled her fingers, creating beautiful intricate designs in the open space between Draco and her before she pointed her arms into the sky, the vibrant flames coursing up into the starry night. A huge burst of flames exploded, but no sound came from the burst of the fire, the flame fading into tiny specks of light falling over the two but diminishing before touching the ground.
November 27th, 1993. The Great Hall. 10:54 am.
Making her way into the Great Hall, eyeing all the side eyes she was receiving letting her feet take her over to her table plopping on an empty spot on the bench, hastily opening the book she was reading the night before. Olive managed to find the page she had left of on, humming triumphantly adjusting her current position before going for a bowl of grapes in front of her, popping a few into her mouth. Her small slender fingers fiddled with the aging book, her eyes scanning the words on the page turning the tethered paper noticing a slight movement out of the corner of her eye. Nearly jumping out of her skin as two identical twins sat in front of her, their identical grins staring back at her. Olive hurriedly swallowed the last of her grapes, closing the book in front of her staring back and forth between the two of them to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her.
"Never seen you before but you seem too old to be a first year-"
"-what year are you in? Is everything swell?"Her eyebrow raised, a smile making its way onto her face amused at how they finished each other sentences. They both happened to have Ron's hair, and the piercing dark eyes they lacked the freckles, but she could tell easily tell where Ron got his mannerisms from by seeing how these twins walked up her, and spoke to her like they had been friends for years. Mischief was evident in their eyes, both hands placed in front of them, clasped together on the wooden table eyeing her tentatively.
"I'm a 5th Year, and Hogwarts is amazing so far thank you for asking. But you two just happened to make it a hell of a lot better," Olive teased, popping another grape into her mouth seeing one of the twins flush a light pink but he maintained the smug look on his face, while the other twin winked at her flirtatiously. She rolled her eyes, leaning her face into one of her palms eyeing the two swiping her tongue across her ruby colored lips, "Now who might you two be,"
"I'm Fred. He's George."
"You forgot our last names, Freddie"
"Blimey, right. It's Weasley, sorry love,"
By the time Olive had decided it was time to leave, it was nearly noon. She finished waving bye to the fiery heads of red hair as she went around the corner when she was flung to the floor, her body smacking onto the stone rather hard feeling a stinging sensation spreading down her legs. Her eyes narrowed at the figure in front of her before softening her glare, locking eyes with a pair of stunning grey eyes. The boy standing in front of her had white blonde hair that happened to fall over his eyes, his face seemed stern and full of such cockiness, a familiar face she had grown accustomed to him putting on, made a grin make its way onto her face. His hand grasped her hand, helping her back on her feet rather swiftly his eyes scanning her up and down checking for any bruises or cuts he may have caused.
"Petal... you alright?" His voice murmured quietly, cupping her face with his right hand while his other found a place on her waist eyeing her eyes for any sign of discomfort, the group of people behind him looked confused as to why Draco was associating himself with someone other than his own house. Olive reached up to brush some of his blonde hair away from his face, giving him a warm smile showing that she was alright his hand squeezing her right hip lovingly.
"No need for that. I'm fine, see? Nothing is broken, nothing is scratched. My butt kinda hurts, but besides that everything's alright," She mused, a teasing tone in her voice noting the way his eyes had softened, stroking his thumb across her soft cheek. His grey eyes locked with her dark brown eyes, visibly relaxing as she stated that she was alright. Wrapping his arms fully around the girl, kissing her forehead instead of giving into her luscious lips that called for him, not being very fond of public display of affection.
"Mind walking me to class, petal?"
"Of course not. Lead the way,"
December 16th, 1993. The Hufflepuff Dormitories. 10:49 pm.
Olive shifted uncomfortably in her bed, the comforter was pooled around the foot of the bed, her body radiating heat. No matter how many layers she removed, the overwhelming sense of heat still surrounded her. Her small hands rubbed at her tired eyes, sitting up on her bed eyeing the dark dorm room grabbing her black school robe putting it over one of the T-shirts that she borrowed from one of the twins, tugging on a pair of shorts knowing it wouldn’t be a good idea to walk around half naked. Her bare feet made small sounds as they padded down the stairs, her wand in her hand, eyeing the empty common room double checking every inch of the room to make sure no one else was around to see her leave. Feeling her body stumble as she tripped over a step, smacking her hands onto the floor groaning in discomfort ignoring the pain in her palms, heaving herself off of the floor making her way near the entrance to the common room.
Picking up her lightened wand, muttering nox softly the light fading quickly. Waving her wand over herself, seeing her body slowly fade into the background behind her, quietly making her way out of the common room eyeing her surroundings to check for Filch or his cat. The blown out candles around the hallways made the place seem eerie, but she brushed off the odd sensation jogging up the stone stairs to the Astronomy Tower trying to stay as quiet as possible. A cold sensation washed over her bare feet from the night air, getting increasingly colder the further up the stairs she went, her body slowly fading back once she made it all the way to the top. The tower overlooked the school grounds, at such a perfect angle it always always caught her off guard every time she made her way back to the lonesome tower, the way the wind blew through the trees like water running over rocks seemed extremely soothing to the young girl.
"Good evening, Ms. Black " The sound of someone muttering her name made the young girl jump toward the source of the sound, locking eyes with a pair of grey blue eyes. His smile relaxed her tremendously, running her fingers through her tousled curls letting out a breath she never knew she was holding. The tall professor had his hands tucked into his pockets eyeing the girl sitting on the edge of the Astronomy Tower, her bare legs dangling in the cold autumn wind. He gestured to an empty spot beside her, the girl scooted over patting the spot beside her a smile tugging at his lips sitting down beside her.
"Mornin' Professor... what are you doing out of bed so early?" Olive joked tiredly, eyes looking over at the young professor whose face was now adorning a playful smile, his fingers messing with his worn out cardigan. A soft chuckle left his lips, giving her a teasing look making Olivia smile, looking out into the night sky.
"Funny you may ask... I was fixing on asking you the same thing, Ms. Black..." His deep voice let out, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he eyed her curiously. She let out a deep sigh, leaning against the wall to her left, enjoying the prickling sensation the cold stone bricks felt against her warm face, looking out into the night. The stars twinkled happily, dancing around the moon that happened to be half full her hands yearning to reach out and hold the clump of rock. The night sky was fairly clear expect for a few grey clouds scattered throughout the sky, barely skimming over the surface of the moon.
"It was hot in my dorm room so I couldn't fall asleep, which is why I went to the place where I go at the end of the week to... let loose,"
"Let loose?" Confusion laced Remus' voice, as he eyed the girl who looked to be deep in thought, his mind racing with endless possibilities to the significance of her words. Olive looked over at her professor, deciding whether she would be able to trust the young man with the everlasting amount of scars or not. Closing her eyes letting out a deep breath feeling her shoulders relax, placing her hand off the to the side hearing the small clatter of her wand as it skimmed the stone floor, hurriedly picking up the wand to make sure it didn’t fall off the edge of the tower.
"Can I trust you with a secret of mine? And do you promise to not tell my secret, Professor?"
"I solemnly swear" Those three words were enough for her, opening her eyes nodding her head to him who was giving her a warm smile. Heart racing slightly as she stood up from her previous sitting position handing her wand to Remus, his hand wrapping around the wand gently eyeing her cautiously once more. Olive chuckled to herself imagining what was fixing to run through his mind the moment she stepped off the tower, taking a few steps forward her toes hovering over the ledge before throwing herself off the tower the sound of someone screaming her name behind her made her laugh loudly, the wing blocking out the panicking tone of his voice. The familiar sensation of her body morphing quickly took place, her wings flapping graceful taking her further up into the air letting out a loud caw. Cool wind ruffled her feathers, the stars seemingly closer than before, diving down towards her Professor landing further into the tower shifting back to her human form, her chest heaving up and down from the adrenaline pumping through her veins.
Remus' heart flew out of his chest when the girl threw herself off the Astronomy Tower, calling after her scrambling onto his feet. Before he knew what was happening, the girl quickly morphed into a Phoenix. Her vibrant red feathers standing out in the dark, small glints of light shining off of her from the moonlight hitting them perfectly as she flew around gracefully. There was something satisfying about seeing this flash of red in a sea of dark colors, that he found very amusing. Remus had to admit to himself that he was positive that she knew damn well the reaction he would give to her jumping off the tower, and he applauded her for her dark sense of humor.
"Ms. Black... how in the-"
"Professor if I may," She cut him off, a knowing look in her eyes as she eyed the bewildered wizard whose mouth was parted open. His eyes were wide and full of amazement, his mouth slowly forming into a giant grin, "I've been an animagus since I was very young. I guess it was one of the many powers I received that night, but you can't tell anyone... god only knows what would happen if anyone found out"
"M-many powers?"
"Oh this is just scraping the surface of what you have left to see, Professor"
December 20th, 1993. Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom. 2:09 pm.
"Today, we will be working with boggarts. Can anyone tell me what a..." Professor Lupin's voice faded while Olive stared at the dresser in front of her, her eyes wide. Having faced a boggart multiple times she knew what her biggest fear was, and never wanted to face that for as long as she could avoid it. She knew the people in the closet would change, especially since her friends had become a big part in her life along with the professors she had gotten close to. Olive regretted coming in here to help assist Professor Lupin, sending daggers to the scarred man who paid no attention to the glaring girl. Her body tensed up, locking eyes with Draco who sent her a reassuring smile winking at her. That small wink made her relax slightly but she still remained tense, snapping back to reality managing to catch the last few words of Professor Lupin's speech.
"-now if everyone could please line up behind Ms. Black," Olive glared down at the floor feeling her heart race immensely, paying no attention to the noises of everyone shuffling to get in position behind her. Professor Lupin nodded towards the young girl, whose face was unreadable her brown eyes were staring straight ahead at the dresser. Reaching into her robes, pulling out her wand keeping a serious expression on her face gripping onto her wand tighter. Remus flicked his wand a joyous smile on his face rather happy to be teaching his favorite lesson, taking a bite out of his apple eyeing the dresser as the door opened slowly.
A hand clasped around the edge of the door, pushing the door open further the tension growing in the small classroom. The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the room as Olive appeared from behind the door, small gasps leaving the mouths of the students confusion evident on their faces. The short haired witches eyes narrowed as she locked eyes with herself, but the eyes staring back at her were golden, nothing like her dark brown eyes. The boggart version of herself was covered in blood but something told Olive it wasn't hers by the murderous look in her eyes, as well as the orbs hovering above her head.
7 different colored orbs.
A vibrant green representing the power of the Earth, baby blue representing the power of Water, bright red for the power of Fire, while a grey white orb off to the right side of her face showed the power of Air.
A deep purple orb was right at the top of her head illumination her face representing the power of Mind Reading, and further off to her right, the black orb stood for the power of Shape Shifting, and the last orb was a vibrant yellow for the power of Strength.
The dead bodies of her friends had slowly started appearing out of thin air the moment the other Olive stepped out of the closet, the two red headed twins who she befriended both had blood coming from their mouths, the ghost of an everlasting smile engraved onto their pale faces, the Golden Trio were slumped over one another. Draco was hovering over the air closest to her his body drained off blood, his pale skin was now stark white and his hair looked dead and limp as it hung from his face. Her heart shattered at the familiar image of her boyfriend, her jaw clenching tightly raising her wand higher. Harry's scar was carved in rather sloppily, small trickles of blood covering his face his eyes gauged out laying scattered a couple feet away, a heavy feeling swimming over her heart. The familiar red headed boy was covered in soot, baby blue eyes were now a grey color having lost all signs of life in them. His skin was practically white, except for the smudges of Hermione's blood and dirt covering half of his body, the mark on his chest showing the cause of his death. The bushy haired girl, who she had become quite fond of, was dismembered, her head placed messily on Harry's lap her mouth wide open with the eyes wide. Eyeing her bleeding body, Olive clamped her eyes shut to avoid seeing the remaining people scattered around the classroom completely lifeless, pointing her wand at the boggart flicking her wand.
"Riddikulus! Bloody hell-Riddikulus! If you don't fucking change, I will-" Olive's angry voice cut through the silence, the boggart shifting to a never ending amount of exploding fireworks. The pinks and purples illuminating her face, shoving her wand into her robes swiftly making her way out of the room leaving the stunned students in the classroom.
Hermione had tears in her eyes as she clutched onto both Ron and Harry's hands, who also happened to be in shock. Harry turned to his friends giving them a everlasting look to reassure himself that they were both okay and standing in front of him, a gut wrenching sensation spread from deep in his chest to every inch of his body from staring at his dead friends feeling an immense pity for the short haired witch.
After a short couple of minutes of walking in silence, she wound up in front of Snape's classroom the familiar stabbing pain making it's way through her body making her barge into his room avoiding the side eyes she was receiving from his students. Snape's scowl was replaced by a concerned look, as he eyed the panting girl with tears in her eyes snapping back to his usual demeanor to face his students. His arm lifted, his wand in hand flicking his wrist expertly eyeing his students with the usual scowl who looked around rather lost as to why their potions disappeared so suddenly.
"Class dismissed... write a 9 inch parchment over the potion you chose to create. Don't get used to getting early dismissal, now go!" His harsh tone sent the 3rd years scrambling to grab their belongings, making their way steadily out of the classroom the sound of hushed whispers and clattering of shoes on the stone floor quickly faded as the door closed shut before them.
Snape turned to face Olive whose breathing had gotten harsh, her eyes clamped shut a tight grip on her robes. His features softened reaching out to the girl before she let out a guttural cry, his heart clenching at the unfamiliar sound. Olive's legs gave out, the sound of her knees hitting the ground did nothing for her and no pain compared to the pain she was experiencing at that very moment.
"H-help me..." Before another word left her mouth, he cast a quick muffliato around the room eyeing the girl as her body was flung into the air her body hovering over the air. An ear piercing scream left her mouth, the sharp ringing echoed loudly in his ears shuffling back a couple steps. Waving his wand, a few vials of a deep purple colored potion floated onto his desk, glistening from a small crack of light coming into his room. Severus cast a patronus, staring the doe with an intense stare as he explained the current situation to the professors, the doe splitting up into many speeding off to their destinations leaving the room. A deep pain resonated deep within Snape, hating the fact that all that he could do was watch his goddaughter scream, and not be able to do anything to stop her pain. Olive knew what would happen if she had let her guard down, the powers would take over and she tried her hardest to avoid that. Having only experienced this pain for a millisecond before her mother stepped in, but this pain was only growing. Like you were burning from the inside out except this burning wouldn’t stop, leaving her in a state of no control as her body morphed.
"Fiat ein requiem. Nein requiem meam. Relinquo." Dumbledore's voice echoed throughout the room, her screams subsided almost right away her body slowly floating down to the floor. The stone floor helped soothe the burning sensation on her warm skin, eyes fluttering open blinking away the blurriness. Madam Pomfrey scurried over to the girl sprawled on the stone floor, grabbing Severus' potion uncorking the vial crouching down to the glowing girl. A soft cry left her lips, parting her mouth for the rich purple liquid to trickle down her throat, feeling the coldness from the potion quickly spreading, starting from her throat all the way up to her flushed cheeks, the sensation making it's way down to her hands and feet.
Remus eyed the girl, Olive's pained body was now resembling her boggart. Her biggest fear... was standing right before him. The waist length locks, small braids in her hair with tiny slivers of gold braided into the hair. Golden eyes were scanning her surroundings, a new aurora surrounding the small girl. Olive locked eyes with Remus, his features looked shock with a bit of sympathy laced in his grey-blue eyes. A small grunt emitted from her throat feeling her body regain control of her actions, letting out a small hiss while trying to sit up, the sound of someone making their way over to her didn't go unnoticed by Olive. Remus wrapped his arm around the pained girl, feeling her body relax at his touch helping the trembling girl back onto her feet, giving her a reassuring smile.
"They took over... I c-couldn't stop it. When I saw myself- I let my guard down long enough for them to take over..." Olives voice croaked out, her eyes widening at how smooth her voice had gotten. Tilting her head to the rings littered across her fingers, the emeralds seemingly familiar to the orbs she saw earlier. Four rings were on both hands, one of the larger rings was closest to her knuckle on her left hand ring finger, a smaller ring snug on her pinky, the Mind Reading stone and the Shape Shifting stone. On her thumb on her right hand hand had a thicker ring with small engravings of waves into the silver, that happened to be the Water stone, and the ring on her middle finger was the Fire stone. The glint of a gold chain hanging around her ankle catching her attention, paying attention to the Earth stone that was split up to form a small heart on her leg. A stinging sensation was brought to her ear, taking small steps forward, the chatter between the adults fading from her mind as she made her way over to a mirror, tucking a strand of her new found long hair behind her ear. Two earrings were embedded into her soft skin, a small stud of the Air stone was in her first hole while the Strength stone was shining brightly behind the stud, as a tiny vine made out of an amber cupped her other ear.
December 22nd, 1993. Hogwarts Corridor. 12:05 pm.
Olivia had her hair braided into two long braids that went down her back, shuffling outside the Great Hall entrance waiting for her two twins to show up. Albus helped her place a charm over her eyes to hide the bright gold, but no matter how many times she chopped her hair off it instantly grew back. The Hogwarts uniform seemed rather bland on her body compared to the intense beauty radiating off of her, her white button up was perfectly hiding how her skin shone brightly. Her earrings were on full display, but she quite liked how it made her seem along with the rings on her tanned fingers. A cough to her left made her head snap to the startling sound, relaxing as she locked eyes with the twins.
"What happened to your short hair?" Fred teased, reaching out a hand to twirl a loose curl around his finger enjoying the way it curled around his long finger perfectly. A grin made it's way onto her face bringing one of the braids to the front, sending Fred a playful wink. George noted how she carried herself differently, she no longer had that tiny sliver of timidness when she first met them. Olive radiated of confidence and authority, something George wasn't accustomed to but he liked how she seemed much happier now.
"A spell gone wrong, but it's fine. Would you like to go in or are we going to be enjoying our food out here?" The twins nodded happily, each wrapping an arm around the younger Hufflepuff whose face was sporting a massive grin. Olive opened the door with the flick of her wand, the two redheaded twins letting out a loud whistle, eyeing the chattering students who were scattered throughout the Great Hall, a few people stared at the three before turning their attention back to their friends. Fred kissed her cheek cheekily, unwrapping his arm from around her, making his way over to Lee Jordan, a boy she'd been introduced to at the beginning of the school year shortly after she met the twins.
Olive turned to face the other twin whose face was a light pink, giving her a soft smile walking her over to her seat. She's always sat near the far end side of the table, closest to the Professors table, either by herself or surrounded by the friends she had made so far into the school year. George and Olive plopped down, enjoying their lunch before George tried to steal the last sandwich his long fingers almost succeeding if it weren't for the short witch slapping his hand.
December 22nd, 1993. The Great Hall. 12:47 pm.
"-and then... and then he slipped in the middle of the dance!" A loud snort left Olive's lips as she tried to contain her laughter, slapping her hand over her reddening face. George had just finished explaining what happened at Yule Ball practice with Fred and his date, his face almost as red as his fiery red hair. Fred had managed to slip on his foot sending him and the girl he was dancing with, tumbling to the floor along with other dancers around them. He wasn't able to look at the girl the same, avoiding mentioning it ever happened and attempted to send spells at anyone who dared to speak of it, which made Olive rather proud of her red headed friend. Placing her hand on George's shoulder trying to muffle her laughter, feeling the soft chuckles subside her cheeks cooling down slightly.
"That was great" Olive chocked out, grasping the golden goblet in front of her taking a small sip of the cooling liquid inside. Setting the goblet down on the dark oak table, shifting to face the grinning boy who happened to already be staring at her. His eyes twinkled in amusement leaning forward slightly to push a strand of her hair back, caressing her cheek softly. Olive felt a tingling sensation spread down to her hands, her breath hitching scooting back from the boys touch. A flash of hurt flashed across his eyes setting his hand back onto the table, taking a swig from his goblet a small trickle of the orange liquid trickled down his throat. Her small fingers reached out to wipe away the liquid, seeing his body tense up slowly setting the metal down, eyeing her cautiously as she inched her way closer to him, cupping his hand into her softly.
"Sorry for pulling away, Georgie... I couldn't have you kissing me because-"
"Because she's got a boyfriend, Weasel. Now get lost" The sound of Draco's voice made her hands quickly detach themselves from Georges, turning her head to look up at his seething face. The sunlight coming from the windows up above made his milky skin have a golden hue to it, his grey eyes were nearly pitch black and narrowed at the red head. Georges face hardened standing up from his position, his body towering over the 4th Year Slytherin, the sound of someone running over to them caught her attention but as she went to turn toward the sound of the footsteps Fred had popped up beside his twin glaring at Draco.
"Back off, Malfoy. Wouldn't want to hurt you in front of our little friend now would we...?" Fred's voice was laced with anger, his eyes darkening as he twirled his wand in front of him cocking his eyebrow at the white haired boy. Draco instinctively tugged his wand out pointing it at the slightly shorter Weasley twin, jabbing his chest harshly before they were both throw back from one another, both of their bodies slamming onto the floor feeling the painful sensation creeping up their backs.
Olive's face was stone hard her brown eyes were now a light golden color, not as vibrant as they had been last night but they were enough to show the change in her. Tucking her wand back into her robe, reaching a hand out to Draco seeing as George had already helped his other half up. Draco's eyes were apologetic, eyes widening as he scanned her golden eyes before he could say anything she had already muttered the spell her headmaster had taught her letting her eyes turn back to normal. Swiveling on her heels to face the twins, giving them an apologetic smile reaching out a hand to the taller twin, grasping her tiny hand in his large hand.
"Thank you for standing up for me, Freddie but you didn't have to... Draco can get overprotective at times but he doesn't mean any harm-"
"Are you defending that...bloody ferret-"
"-after he knocked me back?"
"I knocked you both back, Fred. And don't call him that." Olive gave him a soft smile, patting his hand gently giving him a warm smile. Their faces looked completely an utterly lost, as they eyed the two, before realization washed over George. His eyes softened slightly, letting out a deep sigh as he pulled his hand out of his pocked running his fingers through his long hair. Fred eyed the white haired boy noticing the look he had on his face as he eyed the girl standing before him, proving to him that he truly did care for her. The only reason he knew that just by looking at the two of them, was because Fred always caught his twin brother looking at the curly haired witch in the exact same way.
