[happy birthday johnny, i love you]

you can never forget johnny - because of his big heart, yes, but also because of all the little things he’d do.

he’d constantly show up with small gifts at your door because he remembered something random you said one time - like the time you told him that you watched a lot of dora as a kid and that boots was your favorite character, and he bought you a mini-boots plushie at the airport months later because it reminded him of you. 

he’d send you videos of him kissing the camera repeatedly when he missed you, spamming your phone with “i love you so much” texts until you were giggling hysterically at his persistence in getting you to say it as many times as he was saying it. 

he’d be so eager to model for your photography or art, although you knew he probably wanted to be away from the camera on days he was off. johnny claimed that you taking a picture of him was different somehow - he loved to see how you saw him.

he’d slip one hand into your hair as you kissed, careful that you wouldn’t strain your neck because he was so much taller than you, and he’d wrap the other arm around your waist.

he’d bow deeply to your parents and would help them wash the dishes after each meal - although they told him not to since he was a guest - conversing smoothly with them until all of them were laughing at his stories. the true highlight, though, was slipping your hand into his clammy one at the end of the day as he confessed how nervous he’d been in case he slipped up in front of your parents. you would giggle, tippy-toe to press a kiss to his cheek, and tell him that wouldn’t happen. your parents adored him.

he’d drum his fingers in a specific pattern whenever he thought of you; the pattern that the both of you later found out was morse code for “my love.” johnny had the faintest memory of memorizing morse code in middle school, but hadn’t realized that it was still embedded in his subconsciousness. 

you had loved him all the more.

best friend!jaehyun loves laughing at your stupid jokes, letting you steal his hoodies every time you go out during winter, and patting your back when you cry. he loves getting ice cream with you during the winter, the cold air blowing on the tips of both of your red noses as you walk side by side, glued to each other for warmth but still taking greedy bites of ice cream. he loves having you come over so that you can paint together in his back porch - he usually paints you while you paint his dog, a beautiful golden retriever (he swears you’re only friends with him for his dog). he loves picking you up in the morning with his rusty old hyundai and being the first one to see you awake in the morning besides your family. he loves listening to you rant about random snippets of topics you’ve suddenly developed an insuppressible passion for, and loves listening to you absentmindedly hum the song that’s been stuck in your head for hours. he loves having you lean your head on his shoulder as you doze off after a difficult day, and loves leaning on your head to take a nap himself, as well. 

but above all, jaehyun loves you.

jaehyun would love to kiss your tears away when you cry. he would love to taste your ice cream from your lips and nuzzle your frozen noses together. he would love to paint hearts next to your face on his canvas - he would love to paint so many hearts that the background would barely be visible to you. he would love to give you morning kisses as you step into his car in the morning. he would love to hear you say you love him; he would love to tell you that every One Direction song he hears at your usual café - as cheesy as they are - keep reminding him of you. every time you lean your head on his shoulder, jaehyun realizes that he would love to entwine his fingers with yours and tell you he loves you and kiss you good night and everything in between - but he knows he’s just your best friend.

you’re procrastinating. stop doing it and get to work right now before you regret it later. don’t you dare come back before you’re done - i have my eyes on you

every time you and best friend!mark break into laughter at another stupid joke, both of you subconsciously smack best friend!johnny’s shoulder, causing johnny to playfully shout “ow!” as he leans back from the both of you.

it’s a lazy afternoon - one haechan hasn’t had for years since his first debut. you and haechan sit facing each other on the floor of your parents’ art studio, the coldness of the marble somewhat muffled by the newspaper you sit on. you are painting sunflowers on each other’s hands; your sunflowers stem from the roots on the wrist of his left hand and bloom near his fingers, while his sunflowers messily graze upon the entirety of your left hand. you laugh because they kind of look like burnt scrambled eggs, and haechan laughs because your laugh is so damn cute (but also because he thinks so, too). he then playfully attempts to flirt seductively, calling you his flower with a wink, a lip bite, and that look - to which you can’t stop laughing uncontrollably, but press a messily placed kiss to his cheek because he’s just so adorable. haechan’s eyes light up as he peppers your face with kisses, making you giggle as you entangle your fingers in his damaged hair in a joking attempt to pry him away. you can’t remember the time you’d laughed this much - or felt this happy. but haechan always seems to do that to you.

the afternoon sunlight smiles upon the both of you from the large, circular window behind you. the golden light kisses haechan’s eyes into a deep shade of sweet honey, and you know you’d love to be even a scrambled-egg-looking sunflower if it meant that you would be able to look at your sun forever.
