But now a new collaboration is designing fashionable hospital gowns to encourage sick teens that they’re not “just a hospital patient.” See how they react when they try their new robes on.

I can totally imagine the mermaids that would live here though.

At first there was only one. She’s small to fit through the hallways of her home better. Her skin and scales change colors to match what’s around her, hiding her from those above. She sings sweetly, eeriely, to lure her victims into the tight places where they’ll get stuck. And then they see her rise from the sand or peel from the rock and they scream but who can hear you beneath the water?

Others came later, through the caves on the far side of the lake, the ones that feed into the deep parts of the river that filters new water into the lake. One is so dark there’s no seeing her in the water. Another is large and likes to sit at the bottom, letting herself be mistaken as a big rock so that when the humans above race to see who can touch her first, she can catch them unawares. There’s one from the river who buries herself in the muddy shallows and drags her victims down into darker depths the second they step in. They are sisters with gleaming fangs and claws for ripping apart fish and men.
