It Only Took A Second For Maggie To Read Him Like An Open Book. His Expression, His Thoughts And Especially

It only took a second for Maggie to read him like an open book. His expression, his thoughts and especially his feelings were more than clear to Maggie. The thought that people walking by might think they were having a stare-off made her smile a little.

Honestly, he wasn't wrong with that assumption. After all, not everyone here could read minds. However, her smile was barely visible and she quickly put her neutral façade back on. For Maggie, it was awkward to just smile in public when there was no reason that others could explain why she was smiling.

She also didn't missed how Finn was trying to filter out her thoughts. He didn't seem to be that experienced yet with this, but that was more than understandable. Maggie also had a lot of problems with it and only managed to learn it with the help and guidance of the professor and Jean. And even today she sometimes had problems filtering out specific thoughts.

She really couldn't say what was better: filtering out the thoughts or completely blocking out the thoughts of others.

After a while he finally noticed that she hadn't asked her question out loud, but was speaking to him through her mind. Maggie gave him a slight nod. "Yes, I can," she confirmed again out loud, although she realized that it wasn't really necessary, considering that he could also read minds. But even then it would have been strange if he had asked her something in spoken words and she hadn't answered him properly. Weird and in a way also rude in Maggie's opinion.

First Meeting | @tidemoonchild

The last few days had been a crazy turn of events. First coming back and having no idea what was happening, only to find out he had lost five years in the blink of an eye. Then Hadassah coming to him, and for the first time since their days in HYDRA, she was actually asking for his help. Now he found himself at a school for people like his best friend. They called themselves mutants. The word sounded familiar to him, but that was all. He had probably heard it in passing from his father or one of his colleagues.

As Hadassah walked off with her parents down the hall, Finn stood still in place. He was glad that she finally seemed to find her place, and that she seemed genuinely happy. That was a first, and he wasn’t going to pull her away from that, despite the fact that he didn’t know how he could fit in here. He wasn’t even sure they’d welcome him. He wasn’t a mutant. He nearly turned to leave, but something made him stop. A voice in his head, one that was not his own, but also not just anyone’s. This voice was actually saying something to him, unlike most minds that he read that were a jumbled mess.

He closed his eyes, trying to focus in on it, but that’s when someone else’s thoughts entered his mind. These thoughts came from someone who was not far behind him. He turned around to see the face of a young girl, the same one who the foreign thoughts belonged to. “Uh… hi.”

Calling all Tolkien fans, I have a question. I’m in the mood to rewatch the movies (and reread the books lol) but! I don’t know where to start.

Which rage language are you?

step back

usually, you're able to bottle up your emotions and ignore the frustrations. but, after weeks of shoving everything down, your body needs a release, and i pity the poor person who managed to piss you off. it's screaming crying, shouting, kicking lockers, whatever you can do to get it out of your system. it's a whole jean grey moment, fire and fury blasting out of you.

“Tippy-Toe?” Maggie asked, raising her eyebrows and tilting her head to the side. "You fight crime with a squirrel?" she asked curiously. "Never seen a crime-fighting squirrel before…"

Maggie looked back down at the two squirrels, which were snaking and climbing around her. Her expressions became a little sad and concerned, "I know…" she answered quietly. "I just wish it were different... My dad always said 'Be the change you want to see in the world'..." With that she briefly looked up at Doreen again. "Guess that's what I'm trying to do…" she grinned crookedly.

Maggie then lowered her gaze again. It was really embarrassing and uncomfortable for her that she didn't know what an 'acorn' was. Based on Doreen's reaction and how her emotions changed, it was clear to Maggie that this had to be something that was actually considered general education.

She was all the more relieved when Doreen didn't make fun of her or look at her askance because of it. A little unsure, Maggie looked in the direction of the tree where Doreen was pointing before nodding cautiously. "Um… Okay…"

With that Maggie slowly stood up again to follow Doreen when, after a few steps, she suddenly stopped and spoke again. Not expecting that, Maggie almost ran into Doreen, but managed to stop in time before they collided together.

With another crooked grin, Maggie chuckled a little. "I'm Maggie," she introduced herself briefly.

Maggie walked through the streets on her way to the park when she suddenly heard a quiet squeak. She paused briefly and cocked her head to the side before walking in the direction of the noise to see what it was. When she got to the source of the noise, she saw a little squirrel desperately running back and forth in a barrel, trying to get out.

"Aw, hey little fella." Maggie greeted him with a friendly voice so as not to scare the little animal even further. "How did you get in there, hm? Can't get out out of there again?" She continued to speak calmly while she pulled a few nuts out and carefully placed them in the barrel with the squirrel. "You must have been in there for a while now…" she murmured as she gently petted the squirrel.

Slowly but surely, Maggie gained the animal's trust and carefully lifted it out of its prison. "There you go," Maggie whispered and brought the squirrel near a tree where she put it down. "Now you're free again."

Maggie placed a few more nuts next to the squirrel, which it quickly collected before the squirrel gave Maggie one last look and then ran away. With a smile, Maggie looked after the squirrel as she saw it running towards a girl. A girl with a… squirrel tail?
