What if Blue’s boys are all secretly sad boys…

We all know that the current Paladins are a lot like the former ones. (see Blaytz and Lance both whooping the first time they fly Blue and Hunk and the former Yellow Paladin excitedly hollering “I’m a leg!”) So, what if Blaytz also had hidden insecurities? And maybe even the negative extremely self-sacrificial tendencies.

And Coran obviously had to have known the old paladins really well. (Voltron was first formed before Allura was born and she’s almost an adult in the show after all.) So, if Blaytz was secretly insecure, Coran would have known. Coran could have seen Lance was a lot like Blaytz after the soul bearing and exploding crystal incident and so decided to make Lance his “favorite” so that he could watch over him and be there to help him if he seemed to be having a lot of trouble with his inner demons. Lance’s overtly friendly manner would have given him the perfect cover to get close and discreetly watch for any warning signs if something bad were about to happen with Lance’s mental state. He has had a lifetime of diplomacy to hone his person-related reasoning skills after all.

I also just realized writing this, that Allura knew the qualities each Paladin embodies from an entire childhood growing up surrounded by the Paladins of old. And sorry Yellow Paladin of old, I can’t remember your name. T_T

headcanon that lance can hear both the blue and red in his head and they both have wildly different reactions to situations like they’re the angel and the devil on his shoulders

•blue gives advice on how to delicately handle situations while red just goes for the something violent

     -blue: go to shiro and explain to him that what he said hurt you

     -red: punch him in the throat

     -blue: no !

•sometimes they agree, like when the training robot accidentally cuts lance arm

     -red: i will rip that robots wires out and throw him into the nearest dying star

     -lance: don’t you think thats a bit extremely? it’s a robot, and it didn’t even hurt that much! blue, back me up here

     -blue: …

     -blue: fucking destroy it

•the only thing blue and red completely disagree on is how to handle keith

     -lance: *sees keith*

     -red: *growls*

     -blue: *purrs*

     -red and blue look at each other

actual serious new power or cheesy throw away line, it bugs me a bit that I don’t see anyone even talking about the possibility that Cisco is developing/has developed empathic abilities. Empath powers are an angst gold mine people, where is everybody on this one?

anyway I can’t get the idea of Cisco saying this to Cynthia out of my head. Like they’ve been married and traveling the universe for 10 years and he just leans over one morning like an actual 13 year old like “you liiiiiiike meeee”
