I noticed that Icyridge part 2 placed A LOT of emphasis on its female characters' femininity and I could make an essaypost on how this might tie into overarching themes of the story but I may just be going crazy

then again i may be onto something here because despite its cutesy, bright, child-drawn aesthetic, and despite its All Ages rating, Doodle World clearly has the lore and complexity and themes of something beyond a game marketed towards just young children. I genuinely wouldn't out it past wish to add commentary on how women are treated by society to his game, especially considering all the commentary already in there.

i'm inclined to say charles on this one, i COULD see him in 'the world was wide enough' being like "he's not gonna make an orphan of quincy" and obviously that's not this guy who sung this BUT i don't rlly love any of the alternative options for this slot either so

gotta go with rebecca here. i am 1000% in belief she deserves more recognition than just "i loved lucas rimbaud" and she needs more credit than just this line but alas. this is the most viable choice.

"and me?... i'm the damn fool that shot him." i'm VERY tentatively picking teneson for this one. again i could see charles here, he's more likely to feel regret for such a thing than teneson, and i could see him making a horrid mistake like that trying to keep his son safe, but if i switch them around i REALLY can't see teneson trusting lucas like. at all. definitely not enough to the point it'd be mentioned in a mfing song.

Here's some Food for Mind about Zavier I had locked away but after listening to some music, I decided to share I had this idea after another Tumblr user, @luna-di brought up the whole correlation between Zavier and Quincy. When Zavier says that, "Where I come from... they call me The Savior." And he says, "I don't like that name, so how about you call me Zavier instead?" As we all know, Suzie calls Quincy 'her savior' when he sets her free in Icyridge. Thank you for reminding me about that @luna-di Now the Food for Mind that I didn't mention, but Suzie is the only character to have called Quincy 'her savior' Which naturally leads me to the idea of his people being his friends, more importantly Suzie and Player. I mean Quincy already states that he considers Suzie a friend,

It makes sense for him as Zavier, who's likely lost his people aka his friends, would be willing to do anything for them. Even if it meant creating an accidental temporal paradox even when he didn't mean it. Now onto the Food for Mind that I just suddenly had. This relates to Doodle World Tumblr's favorite sexyman, Mister Riffraff himself. Since it's about Zavier and Riffraff. Throughout the game, and especially at the last part of the Oasis. Riffraff is seen talking with Zavier, letting him monolog to someone and reveal what's been going on with him. And as per usual, I asked myself... "Why? Why would Riffraff do this?" Because I had the idea that everything he does, has a reason. Like a serious reason and not just because it's funny. > He pulled Zavier away in Von Sweets' Factory after he tried to take Player's key away. > He helped Von Sweets with connecting with his Pandashi. > He told Player that he won't be able to help them as long as Teneson was around before they go off into the Academy. And as we know from the Oasis cutscene, deep down, there is Lucas Rimbaud. A man trying to repent for the guilt he has been dealing with over the loss of someone he deeply cared about. He just hides it in a figurative and literal facade. Riffraff seems to care about these kids' safety even though the Key Hunt is dangerous. And he puts his faith that they can get through it, especially Player. What does this have to do with Zavier? Well, first off, considering that Zavier is also dealing with the loss or losses of those close to him. Perhaps even a certain sweet girl we all know. Zavier takes on the name of 'The Savior' as his people apparently used to call him that. And Suzie does. To cut the cake, Suzie is Rebecca for Zavier. ...yikes. No wonder Riffraff hangs around Zavier and even tries to find him when he can. Likely because Riffraff sees himself in Zavier and wants to help Zavier move on from that survivor's guilt. Even though Riffraff himself is still struggling with it.
