One more detail I want to point out is this little exchange between the girl and her brother. They’re two naive and innocent children who most likely trusted the heroes blindly and idolized them up until this point. The heroes failed to protect them in this case, the most innocent ones and the future of the country. The boy is still hanging on to his Endeavor pouch and that’s what is really touching for me. He hasn’t realized yet the hero society has let them down and probably didn’t hear about Dabi’s speech either. After this those kids have to process their trauma and will come to the conclusion that the heroes can’t guarantee their safety anymore and will lose their innocent believe in the heroes and probs for Hori for conveying so much through a simple scene.

Octopuses in SpongeBob are speciesist

There’s a gated community for octopuses, but we never see a gated community for any other species.

They have their own secret society, and Squidward gets kicked out when his non-cephalopod friends show up there.

On the bus to the Kelpy G concert, this lady is happy to talk to Squidward, but tells him to “keep his friend under control”, once she realizes that SpongeBob’s with him.

The concert has a long line at the lemonade stand run by an octopus, but nobody wants to buy lemonade from the fish.

This could be the reason Squidward easily succumbs to the idea that he’s better than everyone. He wasn’t raised in a gated community, or he wouldn’t have been so amazed by Tentacle Acres. But maybe subconsiously he absorbed this idea that he’s too good for people.

Oh, and the other octopus we know is an absolute elitist.
