Vergil's reaction to a seriously injured S/O

i STILL can't sleep, so I guess we're making this a series babey! ft. Vergil and a gender neutral s/o [tw for description of wounds, thoughts of death, vergil being edgy]

Fighting alongside Vergil was easy, or so you thought until you had one little slip up. The two of you were cleaning up a stray group of demons. It was a slow day for you, on account that Vergil was more than capable of handling this himself. You let yourself get careless. You let your guard down for a second and in that second a Riot came bounding towards you, spinning at the last moment so that its scaly tail landed right on your back and knocked you straight into the wall in front of you.

Vergil turned and was able to catch a glimpse of your body crumpling to the ground. He thought you were dead. Something inside of him flipped and he sliced through the last of the demons to get to you. You laid still on the ground, facedown. Part of him was hesitant to even check if you were alive but he did eventually because he wasn't just gonna leave you there.

Your breathing was shallow and your heart rate was slow, but you were still alive. Vergil was able to situate you so you were laying on your back; so it looked like you were sleeping. He kept watch over you until you woke up, checking multiple times throughout your slumber that you are still breathing.

When you start to rouse, a purple-red bruise had already started to stretch from your brow to your cheek bone and the foundation of a black eye crept in from the outer corner of your eye. The first thing you noticed was the stinging pain of a headache; the second, that Vergil had draped his coat across your form.

"What did I miss?" you managed to string together.

Vergil's expression was distant, less stern than usual. He sat with his legs apart, holding the Yamato vertical from the ground between them.

"Not much... I suppose." He exhaled. The pad of his thumb gingerly pressed against the purple skin under your eye and you flinched away from his touch. He tsked quietly.

"I was-" Vergil paused for a moment to examine your face, "waiting for you to come to." He looked away, opting to adjust his grip on the Yamato.

"Yeah," now it was your turn to look him over, "and I bet it was uncomfortable sitting up straight for that long. How long was I out for anyway?"

A slight smile broke through Vergil's facade for a moment, but it was quickly replaced.

Yes yes! I’m currently replaying Obey Me and playing Devil May Cry 3. Last summer I played Obey Me up to around the 20th chapter I believe. (I’m not certain... It was a year ago :’)) And also I love Devil May Cry 3 so far. (I’ve died so many times lol but it’s so much fun) I’ve kinda been swamped with schoolwork this week so I apologize for not being active today (I had exams) but I’m all done now! <3

Dante: 

“There you are babe. Come on, Let’s get outta here.”

Tries to solve the issue civilly by coming up with some lame excuse to drag you away

If the creep is persistent then he’ll start to get defensive

Usually Dante’s sheer size is enough to scare them away, but if this asshole is feeling particularly ballsy Dante will not hesitate to beat the shit out of them for you

One swift kick with Balrog and the creep is down for the count

 Vergil:

He doesn’t say anything, just walks up behind you and puts his hand on your shoulder all the while staring at the offender with disdain.

His death stare works. Every. Single. Time.

If he’s not near you he’ll flash them the Yamato in warning.

Makes sure to ask if you’re okay afterwards

Finds the person afterwards and has a little “chat” with them

Nero:

“Can you kindly fuck off?”

Grips the harasser by their shirt as if to say ‘I’ll beat you to a pulp if you try that shit again’

Pushes them away and walks off with you

If the creep follows you or tries to start a fight then he’ll punch them in the gut with one of his devil trigger wings

Yeah they’re not getting up for a while.

V:

“I suggest you scamper home, little vermin.” He pushes them away from you with his cane

“Yeah, you better turn tail cause Shakespeare here means business!” Griffon says from above you. Even V’s familiars are protective of you.

Most likely, the poor bastard will underestimate V.

They better be a good runner. V pits Shadow on them. Chasing the scumbag away for a few blocks.

Makes sure you’re okay afterwards

Gift Giving: DMC5 Boys

What gifts would the boys of DMC5 like to receive? ft. Dante, Vergil, Nero, and V

Dante:

Throwing knives

hear me out, those decorative collectable knives that everyone seems to rave about? Get them for him. 

He likes to practice his aim by throwing them at that dartboard he has behind his desk, especially on slow days. It gives him something to do.

The only downside is that... he will probably lose them. more than once. It’s hard to keep track of all his different weapons especially when he hasn’t cleaned his office in like 20 years. :/

Food

if all else fails... buy him food.

the way his face lights up when you walk into his office with a bag of takeout is just *chef’s kiss*

It doesn’t even have to be from anywhere fancy, just make sure you got a lot because he has the appetite of... well... a demon.

Vergil:

A book

It’s probably no secret that Vergil is a big nerd. Reading is one of his favorite pastimes (tied with being pissy and solemnly looking off into the distance) 

Get him a book. Something to read. It can be about anything, doesn’t have to be about poetry. 

All you have to say is “I think you’ll like this book.” and he’s bought. He’ll finish it in three days.

(You’re gonna have to buy more books next time.)

A tea collection

Ya know, one of those boxes that has all the different types of tea. He’d eat that up (or drink it up shall I say :3c)

Enjoys trying all the different types of tea. 

Plus its kinda funny seeing Vergil in a robe with a mug in one hand while getting ready for bed. Don’t tell him I said that tho...

Nero:

Handmade jewelry

Make him a necklace or a new bracelet. It doesn’t have to be good, he’ll wear it till it breaks.

“C’mon you have to make me a new one! It was my good luck charm!”

The fact that it’s handmade makes it that much more special to him.

Good luck though, now you are perpetually stuck making jewelry for him.

A jacket

All the cool devil hunters have leather jackets these days! Nero just wants to fit in

Also his current one kinda has a sleeve missing so its about time for an upgrade.

Just get him clothes in general cause he’s clearly not gonna buy them himself smh (Have you seen his sweater? its practically a string.)

V:

Jewelry

He enjoys a new necklace or ring every once in a while.

Nothing too flashy. Maybe a ring with a purple stone or a necklace with a silver chain.

Griffon definitely makes fun you both. You for giving V a gift, V for wearing it so adamantly.

A journal

Please get him a journal so he can write poetry. please.

He carries it with him where ever he goes.

Also a good way of getting half of the pages dedicated to you wink, wink. Of course he’d never show you, but the thought is there.

He also tries his hand at sketching. He’s not great at it, but he tries.

Again, he won’t show you what he’s working on yet, but maybe one day... if you’re lucky.

DMC 5 boys doing their s/o's hair

Dante:

He knows jack squat about hair.

Usually, he just washes his hair and lets it air dry.

He's never really had to comb it either. Sparda genetics gave him the silkiest, softest hair without him having to do much.

When you ask him to do your hair he's surprised, considering he's never thought to do anything with his hair. (That was more his brother's style)

At first, he'll probably pull it into two messy, uneven pigtails. When you look at your reflection, Dante chuckles.

"I told you I'm no good." He says as he puts his hand on your shoulder.

Eventually, he'll learn how to put your hair into a ponytail but that's about the extent of his knowledge unfortunately.

However, he does enjoy putting little accessories into your hair.

Vergil:

This is a man that knows a thing or two about hair.

He has all kinds of different shampoos and conditioners, including hair masks, and oils.

Owns more hair gels than anyone could probably ever need.

He's pleasantly surprised when you ask him to style your hair.

Vergil is well adept at straightening or curling your hair. He'll even put hair spray in it afterwards and it doesn't fall out all day!

You have to ask where he gets his hair sprays from bc that stuff is no joke

"Can you slick back my hair, like yours?" you ask him out of the blue one day.

He smiles and obliges.

Nero:

Let him cut your hair. He's actually quite good at it. He cuts his own hair all the time so he's had plenty of practice.

Whether you want a trim, a new cut, or your hair shaved off completely, he'll do it.

He's not great at styling it however. Nowhere near as bad as his uncle, but still not great.

Nero doesn't even know how to braid hair.

He'll look up how to do different hair styles just for you.

Eventually, you're sitting on the floor between his legs while Nero sits on the couch watching a YouTube tutorial on how to Dutch braid hair. It was his idea.

He'll insist that he can do it himself, and that you don't need to give him any pointers.

V:

Surprisingly good at styling hair. His fingers are very nimble (😏) and he loves to braid your hair.

He was so excited when you asked him to do your hair (doesn't let his excitement show though.)

He'll let you sit between his legs while he braids and re-braids your hair over and over again. There's no end goal, just closeness.

He could play with your hair for hours, it's almost therapeutic for him.

If you two are in a park or outside, he'll make daisy crowns for you to wear. (He had to look up how to make them beforehand, but he's quite good at it.) He'll also braid flowers into your hair.

Eventually it becomes a ritual for you two. V will just walk over and fix your hair. He'll move your hair out of your face, braid it, twirl it, tuck it behind your ear, anything.

The DMC 5 boys with an Archangel S/O

I’m gonna be honest I don’t know that much about archangels, but I’ll do it for you, requester! ft. Dante, Vergil, Nero, V with a gender neutral archangel! s/o

Dante:

Thinks it’s cool that you are special like him. 

“Hey, look at us. Who woulda thought?”

If you have an “angel form” he thinks it’s so cool and badass, even if it’s crazy looking like the biblical angels.

If you try to boss him around or make him do chores he’ll pout about it.

“Oh, what? Is the big angel ‘too holy’ to wash dishes?”

“No, Dante, you haven’t done the dishes in over a week. We’ve been eating off of paper plates this whole time.”

He does the dishes, reluctantly.

Vergil:

He recognizes your potential and the power you hold with being an archangel.

If you like to fight, spar with him, he’s very competitive. If not, he’ll protect you with all he has.

If he sees your angel form he’s utterly in awe.

You’re the only person he’s afraid to fight, better to be my friend than my enemy. 

He doesn’t really care that you’re an angel and he’s a demon. Occasionally he’ll forget that you two are different in any regard. He’s just happy to be with you.

Nero:

The first time he sees you transform into your angel form he’s surprised. Then he’ll be like ‘wait I can do that too’. (He forgets he has a demon form time-to-time)

He loves seeing you in your angel form. It’s comfortable.

Sometimes he’s self conscious that his s/o is so powerful and badass, but other times he’s super excited that his s/o is someone so powerful and badass. It alternates.

All-in-all he’s proud of you and you two discover what it means to be human hybrids together.

V: 

Doesn’t mind that his s/o is way stronger than him. If anything, he enjoys having someone so mighty by his side.

Although, he is a bit intimidated of your angel form.

Shadow and Griffon still recognize you in your angel form.

V is timid at first, he doesn’t know what it’s like to be around an angel, but he soon loosens up.

He’ll call you his angel and use angel as a pet name. Very on the nose. (Don’t get me started on how ‘poetic’ he’ll think the whole situation is.)
