You Would Be One To Know Seeing That You Have One. A Bigger One Than You're Willing To Admit By The Looks

You would be one to know seeing that you have one. A bigger one than you're willing to admit by the looks of it; has someone been opening up to the possibility of friendship with a certain wandering weirdo? 🤨

How could Andy possibly be worse than Westley from the position you're in?

Do you have a favorite watchdog? If not, who's your least favorite on the ship?

Hank, hands down! He's proven that he has my back no matter what!

...Although I haven't seen much of him for awhile. Heh, if I didn't know better I'd think he's avoiding me!

...

Teddy's also a pretty cool guy. The CAPT Project's been making great progress lately so I've been dropping by more! Love how he skips the nonsense and tells me exactly what I need to know. And he's always going above and beyond.

Don't tell him this but he's more of a work friend than a friend.

My least favorite is-- without a doubt-- Andy. That useless bastard never does his job! Heck, he's probably half of why Wander and Sylvia keep breaking in!

And the bastard's the nosiest guy I've ever met! He'd dig up anything if it meant getting five seconds of fame on his stupid vlog! I wish I could take that shoddy camera of his and bash his face in with it!

⚠️Hey, so this may be very (VERY) urgent:⚠️

So, I don’t normally do this, but something urgent came up, and I really need y’all to read this. There’s a TL;DR at the bottom of this post, but I strongly advise reading this post all the way through to gain more context on the situation at hand.

I don’t know all the details, but there’s this act floating around in the US called the “Kid’s Online Safety Act” - or KOSA , if you will. Here’s a description of it:

KOSA claims to make kids safer, but it’s really a dangerous censorship bill that would give the government unprecedented control over the internet. This would put youth in danger by preventing them from accessing potentially life-saving resources. Lawmakers concerned about online safety should reject KOSA and instead work to protect all internet users from abusive tech companies by passing a Federal data privacy law.
KOSA uses two methods to “protect” kids, and both of them are awful. First, KOSA would pressure platforms to install filters that would wipe the net of anything deemed “inappropriate” for minors. This = instructing platforms to censor, plain and simple. Places that already use content filters have restricted important information about suicide prevention and LGBTQ+ support groups, and KOSA would spread this kind of censorship to every corner of the internet. It’s no surprise that anti-rights zealots are excited about KOSA: it would let them shut down websites that cover topics like race, gender, and sexuality.

In summary, this law, if put in place, would aim to wipe out sites that could provide youth with life-saving resources, or even mention topics related to the LGBTQIA+ community and suicide prevention.

Now, obviously this is only a thing in America, so you’d think it wouldn’t affect the rest of the world, right?

Well, not exactly.

So you know how fandom sites such as Tumblr, AO3 and Wattpad provide an escape for many people across the world who are going through hard times (to put it simply)? I don’t mean to scare anyone, but if this law passes, these sites may be negatively affected globally.

Here’s a TikTok I found by a creator known as omarsbigsister that explains it better. It’s mainly about AO3 but Tumblr and Wattpad are mentioned too:

We all know why fandom is so important. Many people, as I’ve mentioned, use sites such as the ones previously listed to escape the troubles of their everyday life. In addition, fanfiction sites in particular provide creative outlets for writers across the globe. This law could possibly destroy this form of escapism and a creative outlet.

I’ve linked a link tree found in the above TikTok creator’s link tree at the bottom of this post. Please sign them regardless of where you’re from.

Also, y’all know I usually don’t ask for clicks, but interacting with this post in some way or even making a post of your own like this to spread the word would also be of great help!

We have to stop KOSA from being passed. The lives of America’s youth and future of fandom depend on it.

Thanks in advance!

TL;DR: KOSA is putting the lives of American youth and the future of fandom as a whole at risk and we need to act now.

A large pair of unsettling eyes with ringed pink irises stare at a nude pink girl with straight black hair. She is clenched in its oversized white fist. Pink hands of various shades reach up from the bottom of the page. Text reads: [FETISHIZATION IS NOT REPRESENTATION IS NOT APPRECIATION IS NOT RESPECT]
A girl with light pink skin and black hair holds a pink glittery mask over her face. It is titled so a single weeping eye is visible. A thick black bar crosses the red background behind her. Text reads: [YOUR GLORIFICATION OF THE PALATEABLE AESTHETICS OF MY CULTURE IS NOT REVERENCE]
A chunky black silhouette stands against a pink background covered in images of singing kpop girl idols. Inside the figure, text reads: [AND EVEN AS YOU MEMORIZE THE PHONETICS OF YOUR FAVORITE KPOP CHORUS YOU STILL MISPRONOUNCE MY LAST NAME]
An assortment of Asian food on pink dishes is arranged on a black background, including shrimp tempura, chicken curry, gyoza, soup dumplings, pork katsu, white rice, miso soup, kimchi, tteokbokki, kimbap, sushi, and ramen. Text reads: [YOU ENJOY EATING OUR FOOD BUT YOU DENY US A SEAT AT THE TABLE.]
Two white silhouettes pose with a selfie stick against the Seoul skyline. White clouds and a plane stand in the pink sky. Below that, red fire consumes the background. Below that still, the background turns to black. Text reads: [YOU FANTASIZE THAT ASIAN COUNTRIES ARE A DREAMLAND YOU CAN ESCAPE TO… ALL THE WHILE IGNORING THE UGLY SCARS COLONIALISM HAS LEFT ON OUR HISTORIES… AND HOW WE ARE STILL PICKING UP THE PIECES IMPERIALISM HAS LEFT BEHIND]
A girl with flowing black hair and pink skin weeps into her hands. Her tears are blood, and the wind seems to blow cuts across her body. Text reads: [YOU SPEAK OVER OUR VOICES, BUT YOU ARE SILENT AS WE ARE HARASSED AND KILLED]
A white background is consumed by pink and reds at the bottom. Four black panels form a two-by-two grid, each of them showing a sexualized Asian girl drawn in red lines. The first, a girl in an Orientalist belly dancer costume; the second, a girl in a maid dress; the third, a schoolgirl in uniform; the fourth, in an oversexualized qipao with a slit along the thigh. Text reads: [GOD FORBID AN ASIAN PERSON EXISTS OUTSIDE OF YOUR IDEAL CONSUMMABLE PACKAGE: QUIET AND DEMURE AND POLITE AND CUTE]
A drawing of a girl with shoulder-length hair and a hanbok against a pink background. A black bar blocks out her eyes, white text on it reading: [I AM NOT YOUR ASIAN AMERICAN DOLL]

I Am Not Your Asian American Doll: a comic for AAPI Heritage Month 2023

I usually spend a lot of time editing and fine-tuning my comics so that they come across as polite and inoffensive. But honestly, I’m really tired of the way Asian cultures and countries are treated / talked about while Asian people themselves are excluded, and thought it was about time I really let my rage out lol.

Genuinely Friendly Reminder To Never EVER Share Someones Location/information Without Their Explicit

genuinely friendly reminder to never EVER share someone’s location/information without their explicit permission. you do not know why that person is asking, what they plan to do with that information, or even if the asker has that person’s best interest in mind at all.

OP is also not exaggerating how common this is. my abusive parents successfully kidnapped me from work once because a coworker who didn’t know my situation told them when my next shift was. my parents didn’t even know where I lived at that point in time, which was very much on purpose. it took me days to get away again. ALWAYS tell the person that is being looked for that someone is looking. never share personal information or even how to get in contact them. you can take information in and pass it along, but you absolutely cannot give any out.
