People She Touches Crumble Into Dust. If You Stay Perfectly Still, She Wont Consider You A Threat And
People she touches crumble into dust. If you stay perfectly still, she won’t consider you a threat and may pass you by.

Another dream monster! I’m starting to think that if I collect these into a book I’ll add some more illustrations showing how they behaved. There was a point in this dream when she was only millimetres away from somebody’s face, and they just had to stand completely still and wait to see if she killed them or not.

Inktober 2021, Day 2 - technical pens and grey pen
It was quite a surprise the first time she made him fly.
Here I am, frantically posting the rest of Inktober 2020 before Inktober 2021 starts!
I’ve done Inktober every year since 2013, so I was quite upset that I couldn’t finish it in 2020. I kept trying for the whole month, but I only managed a few sketches. If you squint you can see there are two dates on some of these - those are the ones that were at least sketched on the right day, the others were backfilled months later.
I’m going to try again this year, so hold your thumbs for me!
Inktober 2021, day 3 - dip pen and ink wash
He didn’t remember anything. He just woke up there, as if he had been sleeping.
I had 10 days off work for Easter, but of course we’re still trapped indoors, so I decided to do some gouache painting! I’ve only used gouache once before, but I’m pretty pleased with these. I suppose it’s not very different from watercolour which is what I normally use. Next I may dare to try… acrylics.
These are landscapes from Shasta’s world. One day I’m going to have to make a decision on whether I like the pylons or the stone ruins better, since pylons would rust away very quickly. Maybe I can contrive a reason for them to survive…
I drew some shroomsonas for MayShroom! These are a shaggy inkcap and a bleeding tooth, both found in the UK. If I had to pick one I think I’m more of an inkcap, but the bleeding tooth is great fun to draw.
I wanted to do the whole challenge at first, but I didn’t have the energy. I feel bad because Sam Guay deliberately tried to make it easier by giving 4 weekly prompts instead of 31 mushrooms, but I actually found the prompts much harder than doodling up 31 quick botanical illustrations or a mushroom fairies or something. Oh well, next year!
