I'm Not Doing It This Month, But I May Do This Later In The Year.
I'm not doing it this month, but I may do this later in the year.

JANUARY IS BORING, LET’S DRAW COMICS!
The holidays are over and there’s not much going on, so let’s have some fun! Me and my friends pigeony and internetkatze are challenging ourselves to complete comics of at least 15 pages in length during the month of January. It’s like 24 hour comics day but less stressful and sleep-deprived! We’ll be posting our wips and finished stuff in the tag #january comic month 2014.
It’s not anything big and official, but we hope you’ll join us!

Aw yeah Winter zine! If you want a Winter zine before Christmas, please do order it soon! I'll be going home for Christmas on the 19th, so I need to post everything before that date.
Haha my advent calendar sneaking in there.

Hello Woolves! Our chilly Winter issue is all stapled up and available in our online shop! Our cut-off for orders before Christmas is the 18th of December, so please order quickly if you’d like one before January. (For UK buyers, anything ordered before or on the 18th should also arrive before Christmas.)
Highlights this issue include new contributors, a four-page Lesbian Heroes special, warming Winter recipes and an article by Nel McDonald, whose writing was recently featured on xojane!
Full contents of this chilly issue include:
An exciting cover by Scotland-based artist, Kirsten Bradley Henderson! With overlay by our own Lilywoolf.
Another lovely door picture by regular artist Gem Sheldrake.
Lesbian Heroes has a four-page special for honourable mention Constance Spry, the controversial mother of modern floristry.
Felix the Cat and Friends, a new comic from Meg Guindon.
Sewing Sans Pattern shows you how to make a hedgehog pincushion. A little cliché, but fun and easy to make.
Another festive illustration by regular contributor Clem Tarrant.
Linsensuppe mit Einlage, or lentil soup with frankfurters. A warming Winter soup recipe courtesy of Sarahwoolf’s dad.
Man Logic, a cute and funny comic by new contributor April Nash!
Shunning Sweet-Tooth Shame, a short article by Nel McDonald on the infuriating trend of calling all cakes and sweets ‘naughty’, ‘indulgent’ and ‘sinful’.
The return of Things Sarah Sees, this time on the pavement.
Sammy Borras provides another fantastic Stale Symphony comic!
Poppet the House Hob receives a question about baking for dietary restrictions, and responds with a recipe for gluten-free, vegan flapjacks. Maximum sharing potential!
Last but never least, another festive door picture from Deborah Clerkin.

Many thanks to all our lovely contributors, we hope you’ll enjoy all their hard work!

This year I have a very strict to-do list that I'm not allowed to deviate from, so to do some work with a little more freedom, I'm setting myself a monthly challenge. I wanted to ease into it though, so the January challenge is to do one observational drawing every day. Here's the one for the 1st January 2014.
P.S. I didn't set this up as a still-life, this was just on my desk.
Eeeee! It's finally here!
Sammy was working on an earlier version of this comic while we were at university together and I got to see a lot of the development work, so I can confidently state that it's going to be REALLY GOOD and you should all be VERY EXCITED.

Hello!
So encase I wasn’t clear on tumblr at the time, 4 weeks ago I fell off my bike and landed on my face (stylish). I fractured my jaw, chipped a tooth and cut open my lip and chin. I’ve been healing fine apart from some complications in my lip. They found shards of my tooth inside my lip which caused an infection and give me a high chance of more infections. The doctors are waiting to see what my skin does to decide what action to take. I’m trying not to let the accident push back my comic plans.
If the next month goes smoothly for my health I’m planning to launch a new webcomic on Friday 31st January 2014. It will start with a 7 page upload and then update with 3 pages every Friday until the chapter is all online. (there will probably be breaks between chapters)
If you would like to be reminded or updated about the launch date I have …

Thank you! Happy New Year!!

It's that time again! I thought I'd put together another collection of the work I'm most proud of from the past year. In chronological order (I think):
The Mystery of the Roofrunner, this year's free Patience mini-comic. I thought the story was a little weaker than The Mystery of the Night Boy (2012), but I really tried my hardest on the environments, and I think they're miles better than my backgrounds had been before.
Children of the Night, the goth anthology I made with my bestie Sammy Borras this Summer. This was by far the biggest project I've ever cranked out, we did about 30 pages each! It was divided into shorter stories, but it really gave my a feel of how much work a long comic project would be. I'm also really pleased with my writing on all three of my comics!
A couple of pictures to represent Inktober as a whole. Last year I had no time to do Inktober, so I was really proud of myself for not only finishing it, but actually getting some good work out of it. Also I learned to do ink wash.
Finally, right at the end of the year, the twelve Christmas cards I made for my friends and family this year. I had the idea for these last year, but had no time to get them done for Christmas. I'm so pleased to have managed it this year.
I confess, it was... much harder to find things I was proud of this year. (Only Children of the Night leapt to mind.) Mostly because I didn't finish most of the things I'd planned to do by 2014. I had a portfolio review in... February? and got some excellent advice, but I did the same thing I did last year and got caught up in a lot of smaller projects and didn't manage implement any of that advice. I feel very foolish for allowing that to happen even when I'd identified it as a problem at the end of last year.
Obviously I fall into this trap very easily when I don't have some sort of structure in place, so this time I've made a to-do list for the WHOLE OF 2014. Complete with month-by-month breakdowns of which projects need to be started when. If I can't get the stuff on that list done by 2015 (barring major life problems) then it will only be because I lack discipline!
Bring on 2014! I can do better this year!

Sammy got me with a paper person! I glued him into my journal for safekeeping. Also in this set: the time someone stole our recycling box, the time I got home to find a mysterious cut on my hand had bled all over me, and Le Chateau Gateau, the best birthday cake I have ever received!
