Tododeku Fic Rec Month - Week 3

There’s a storm coming so I’m doing all of this at almost 4am, so even if I end up without wifi, I don’t miss the event. In celebration of Tododeku Fic Rec Month, I’m going to be linking 5 fics for each prompt!

The seventh prompt is: “because todoroki-kun is my precious friend!” a fic where izuku and shouto’s friendship burns bright, a bond so palpable, it stands on equal footing with their romance.

“Dis(associate)” by BeyondTheClouds777 https://archiveofourown.org/works/13853580/chapters/31865358 In a world where Izuku can eject his soul from his body, he’s a lot sassier and his friendship with Shouto grows to the point he tells him about One For All. One of the most incredible Canon Divergence stories ever, this is a treat.

“Why Are We Here Again?” by cloud_nine_and_three_quarters https://archiveofourown.org/works/25749178/chapters/62529709 Class 1A is a class full of Vigilantes, Villains and people with dangerous Quirks; Izuku is their charismatic Quirkless leader. Another unforgettable Canon Divergence story, Izuku and Shouto’s relationship is really strong here, strong enough to save Shouto.

“Cool, Warm, Cherished” by Ezray https://archiveofourown.org/works/33764491 Shouto is clearly very touch starved and Izuku convinces the Deku Squad to help remedy that situation. A really sweet fic that focuses on Shouto’s friendship with Izuku and with his other friends, I loved it a lot.

“A Friend in Need” by GwendolynStacy https://archiveofourown.org/works/34723534/chapters/86457052 Izuku is so terrified of making friends due to his experiences in middle school, that he’s hesitant to even try when he gets to UA. Shouto is one of the only people who manages to break through to Izuku’s shell in this rare flip of their dynamic.

“staring at the shadows in a room full of light” by izucaii https://archiveofourown.org/works/26971759 Shouto gets a concussion during training, but Tokoyami and Izuku watch his back. Some references to Endeavour’s abuse, Izuku sheds tears for Shouto and it’s very sweet.

The eighth prompt is: butterflies a multi-chapter fic that gave you butterflies in your stomach every time it updated. you look(ed) forward to every new chapter like you look forward to seeing a crush.

“Into the Shade” by humangerbil https://archiveofourown.org/works/24030430/chapters/57818755 An incredible canon divergence AU, where in their second year, Izuku and Shouto decide to become Underground Heroes with Hitoshi and Tokoyami. Incredibly in character and interesting, I eagerly await the next update.

“The Cupid Quirk” by xSkyll https://archiveofourown.org/works/29026206/chapters/71241855 Izuku takes a love bomb Quirk protecting Aoyama and falls hard for Shouto, who must take care of Izuku to avoid him becoming feverish and dazed. xSkyll is one of the best writers in this fandom, please check ‘em out, she draws too!

“On becoming a Disappointment; by Todoroki Shouto” by AlyaKtheDorkLord https://archiveofourown.org/works/33375640/chapters/82896931 Shouto worries about being a bigot, so Izuku helps him unlearn a few things and the Class 1A ladies turn him into the prettiest rebel ever. If you love petty Shouto, Quirkless Izuku and Class 1A solidarity, you will love this fic.

“Convincing the World I Am Who I Say I Am” by silver jackdaw (cizzi) https://archiveofourown.org/works/27648380/chapters/67652114 Izuku inspires Shouto to be someone who isn’t Todoroki and Shouto inspires Izuku to be a Quirkless Hero. A fic by another incredible writer in the fandom, Sliver Jackdaw never disappoints and the friendship is strong so far here.

“Did you know, you sound cute when you sleep on your left side.” by Supupdog https://archiveofourown.org/works/35460697/chapters/88389907 Izuku is obsessed with Todoroki Shouto, he neeeds him and Shouto needs him too. Mutual yanderes is a great basis for comedy and Inko also being a yandere makes this funnier.

The ninth prompt is: quote unquote a fic with a line that’s imprinted into your skull. you think about it often—in the shower, in the middle of your dinner, as you’re trying to sleep. it haunts you, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Burn Your Wings” by oWhiteKiwibird https://archiveofourown.org/works/14405415/chapters/33268119 “Life isn’t fair, and it certainly isn’t kind.” This is a line that is repeated often, that hits hard, especially if it changes. Izuku has a fire Quirk he doesn’t use because Hisashi abused him but he overcomes that to help Shouto.

“Don’t Fear It Now” by K_K_TiBal & whelvenwings https://archiveofourown.org/works/16219853/chapters/37912127 I can’t pick a single line, just read chapters 1 and 13 of this Snow Queen AU. These two chapters are reflections of each other, of wanting to live forever and the two different paths to that eternity Rei seeks in the story.

“Victim of Circumstance” by Chalcet (orphan_account) https://archiveofourown.org/works/12455752/chapters/28345516 “You’d do that for thugs like us?” “For humans,” In a world where Inko is dead and Izuku is a homeless Vigilante, he’s faced more than the lion’s share of bullshit. But through it all, he remains kind to people and it makes a difference.

“Icefall” by anime-phase-rip (thepensword) https://archiveofourown.org/works/12180354/chapters/27650259 “I wish people would laugh more. Like they did back then.” “They would. If they knew you.” A sappy conversation in chapter 3, where Izuku and Shouto deepen their friendship even though they live in an ice apocalypse.

“Hooked On You” by Trenchcoatkitten https://archiveofourown.org/works/35929345/chapters/89580727 “It’s kind of nice, honestly, and Shouto receives way more information than he could in like, a whole hour of googling stuff.” Asking someone to info dump is a love language in this modern AU.
