I Was Wondering Why This One Pissed Me Off More Than Most Of These AI Rendering Thingamajigs, As I'm
I was wondering why this one pissed me off more than most of these AI rendering thingamajigs, as I'm not involved in the Dead Boys Detectives fandom and I'm not associated with the user @shamelessly-obsessed in any way. Then I realized that this was literally what Victorian era painters did to Isabella de Medici. They took all the features that made her look strong, bold, and unique, and turned her into this soft, delicate flower because she was "more appealing" that way.
And there wasn't even a human involved here. Just an accumulation of "good art data" mindlessly amalgamated on top of a photo. It strips the original of everything that made it interesting and special with the enthusiasm and regularity of a factory machine. It wasn't angry or sad-- it wasn't anything at all, except following orders from an equally detached human master!
I've heard of "algorithmic racism/sexism" being used to describe how AI parrots and propagates the unspoken biases of its creators and datasets, but that feels imprecise to describe what's happening here as it's doesn't seem to be based on the race or sex of the sculpture. And algorithmic bias feels too generic. Maybe algorithmic suppression? Or algorithmic erasure?
Anyway I'm sorry this happened to you, @shamelessly-obsessed. I hope the AI art trend is just a bubble that'll burst soon.

I'm a Zillenial and my parents were early adopters of broadband, so I was too young to remember the days when internet wasn't broadband (and my parents wouldn't let infant-me go on the internet anyway).
My family did have one holdout for AOL dial-up though-- a pair of family friends who stuck by it until 2008-ish. I remember finding it annoying and wondering why they didn't just switch over to the internet that doesn't need the phone.
They said it was less expensive, but I don't know if that was actually true.
Do you guys remember when the house first got a broadband connection and suddenly people could use the internet whenever without tying up the phone line. Nothing in life has ever felt as luxurious a life upgrade as that did.

Reading this and it just hit me...

DR. DOOFENSHMIRTZ'S MOTHER WAS NOT PRESENT FOR HIS BIRTH!
HE LOOKS A LOT MORE TRIANGULAR THAN ANYBODY ELSE IN HIS FAMILY!
WE ALL WONDERED HOW IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR MAMA DOOFENSHMIRTZ TO BE SO NEGLECTFUL THAT SHE MISSED BIRTHING HER OWN CHILD BUT THAT'S HOW!
HEINZ DOOFENSHMIRTZ IS NOT FULLY HUMAN! FOR ALL WE KNOW BILL WAS THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY GAVE BIRTH TO HIM! OR DOOF JUST FUCKING APPEARED ONE DAY AT THE HOSPITAL AND EVERYBODY INEXPLICABLY KNEW WHERE TO TAKE HIM!
also don't mind my allcaps just losing my mind at a dumb fantheory lol
so the book of bill is pretty good

Don't worry about it being rushed-- it's great! And you even included Golisopod!
Thank you for doing this! :D
I had a dream a couple of nights ago where somebody said that tough guys can't wear dresses so Guzma started walking around in this really fancy fucking wedding dress because nobody tells your boy what he can't wear and real tough guys can handle anything.
And he was still acting like himself, or at least my weird dream-colored doesn't-even-play-the-new-Pokemon-games-except-Masters perception of him. So there's this big rough tough guy in an impressive wedding dress pestering people, drinking malasodas, and breaking stuff.
Everybody just kind of rolled with it and acted like he was in his usual attire. That was except for an exchange between a random person and Nanu. The person is complaining about the public indecency and Nanu just replies "yeah he's breaking everything he's definitely not decent." So the person keeps trying to redefine what public indecency is without saying outright that what he doesn't like is Guzma in a dress, and Nanu just either doesn't get it or doesn't care. I wish I could remember the exact contents of the whole exchange because it was like something out of a standup comedy routine.
The dream then went off in a completely different direction, except at one point where I was looking at social media five months later (in dream time) and wedding dresses were trending as the thing for gangsters to wear because of Guzma. There was even like a bridal-themed bank robbery and stuff.
I tried to draw it but gave up because I suck at drawing. Still, the whole thing made me smile when I woke up. So after some deliberations, I thought I'd tell the entire internet about it.
I mean, he'd probably find acceptance somewhere. People would just assume that he went crazy as a result of the apocalypse. They figure that's why he's got this elaborate uniform, keeps making vague references to things that definitely don't exist (like little monsters that fit in your pockets), and no idea what's happening.
I'm now imagining a scenario where, after noticing that he has somehow survived everything thrown at him, people start calling him "Norton II, Emperor of the United States and the Protector of Mexico." Ingo has no idea who Norton I was, but the title conveys a degree of authority that he absolutely is not ready for. Occasionally they switch it up and call him the "Subway Master of the United States" instead. That name sounds familiar, though he can't put a finger on why. He likes it better than being called emperor (or Norton II), that's for sure.
He does his best. It isn't always enough. Still, people remain loyal. He doesn't understand why.
Once, somebody says, "Maybe this is the real Ingo and not some crazy guy in a costume!". Ingo agrees. But they laugh. It was just a joke. And he cries. They stop laughing and apologize for taunting him. But he doesn't stop crying.

This was too silly for me *not* to draw, can I get a uhhhhhh zombie apocalypse AU-
