I Always Thought Those ACTions Are From Frisk, But It Didn't Really Occur To Me What They Were Or What
I always thought those ACTions are from Frisk, but it didn't really occur to me what they were or what they do. Makes me really question who "Frisk" really is. Though, this does go with Camila's headcanon about Frisk. Frisk and the player is the same person in the game, and that Frisk's personality is kinda like ours. They don't truly care about the characters there. Because if we truly did, we wouldn't have started the Genocide Route.
This actually makes Chara's actions at the end of the Genocide Route a lot more sense. Lots of people thought Chara was the bad person, but they're just a red-herring.
Chara may actually be corrupted by the LV and EXP, but maybe they're still trying to subconsciously stop the true culprit here. Frisk, AKA the Player.
If Chara is the Narrator, following us into the underground, that means they would know what Frisk can do. But never had the power to warn, or stop them, until the events of the Genocide.
But there's a chance Frisk is kinda another "Susie" here.
I always theorised that Kris in Deltarune was actually a mix of both Chara and Frisk's personalities. And lots of people have been talking about how Kris seems to be a bit similar to Susie. And I did noticed that what Susie did in Deltarune was similar to what we did in Undertale.
At first, we would kill everything in our path, because that's what we thought we were meant to do, like Susie, until we gained this connection of friendship with the characters, that is also a lot like Susie.
So I could see Frisk just being another "Susie" in Undertale. It was mentioned that Frisk and Suzy should be friends, which could a sign of a connection between Frisk and Susie.
Some really questionable stuff Frisk does under actâs options
Before, starting:no, Chara isnât the one whoâs behind those actions since every time they wrongly describes what Frisk does, they correct themself (such as during Snowyâs mom fight or when you confront a Froggit). The actions i would compile are the actions that the narrator doesnât correct.
And remember:Frisk is the one who choose details under any option the player choose,we have no real control under how Frisk exactly behave. For example when we ask them to âinsult"someone,we donât really says how Frisk should insult, whatever its supposed to be a âsoft insult "or not.Same goes under "menace"option,we donât tell whatever Frisk should menace the monsters saying stuff like "if you keep fighting you will be exhausted "or "if you keep fighting me i wouldnât become your friendâ.And of course its mostly valid for âtalk"option, since this is least specific option of the game:here Frisk is completely free to say anything they want. So,the way Frisk behave under any "actâ is supposed to be a reflection of their nature. So how Frisk can behave under âmean"or at least "neutral"options?
Snowdrakeâs fight
If you decide to "insultâ Snowdrake ,then Frisk would behave ratherâŚ..interestingly:

Do you that any freaking nice kid would tell such awful things??Do you think that anyone âniceâ would completely cush someone simply with words??And again we NEVER asked Frisk to tell such things under âinsult"option,Frisk is the one who choose those exact words, they can also tell Snowdrake that "they arenât funny"under this option ,which proove that they are they the one who choose how to behave under this option and the one who choose to say such awful things.
Vulkinâs fight
But,unlike what people believe, this is not the single instance Frisk can be mean with monsters under some actâs option.Under a more neutral option "Criticizeâ,so an option under which Frisk has even more freedom, they can tell things like:

Again,Frisk has a huge freedom here but instead they start to behave like they do with Snowdrake.Noone really truly kind would criticize someone by saying that their attacks are completely useles or telling them that their ârump looks like a sack of trashâ
Nastablookâs fight

This happens under âmenace"option,Frisk menace Nastablook by giving them a "cruel lookâ (while they could behave differently). And since the narrator doesnât say that Frisk is simply having âa creepy lookâ,i donât think that they are just trying to scare Nastablook so the ghost would stop fighting ,so i wonder how âa cruel look"is supposed to be a menace unless it reflects their menacing intentions which is REALLY likely,so they seems to have cruel menacing intentions under this option, something a really kindnatured person would probably have(no)
Chilldrakeâs fight

They start to mock Chilldrake under "joke"option.During Snowdrakeâs battle they make puns under this same option but here they instead decide to mock Chilldrake, which indicates that they really wanted to mock them instead of telling puns and mocking Chilldrake is the only stuff they do under this option.
Torielâs fight

This happens under "talk"option,an option where Frisk has complete freedon to say whatever they want but instead of telling Toriel that they donât want to find her(ya know like in literally every single comic,au etc..),they instead canât think of any conversationâs topics ,which indicates that they DO want to fight her(otherwise they could ).The only conversationâs topic Frisk can think of is when you decide to talk to Toriel when she already died before:

Yeah,of course a really caring, nice pacifist kid would think of telling such creepy things instead of simply thinking to tell that they dont want to fight at all!!(nope -_-)
Asgoreâs fight
Thereâs variations here:when Frisk already died, theyâll tell Asgore that they already died before or in the case they already died several times, theyâll tell how times they died, when Frisk hasnt died and at least killled one monster, they would have nothing to say :

In the pacifist run,if they didnât die before,Frisk would tell Asgore that they dont want to fight Asgore, but even with one single murder they shows that they want to fight Asgore since they have"nothing to say"under the same exact circumstances than the pacifistâs battle but with at least one murder.
They also seems to be much more inspired by "mean"options than the "nice"ones since they never really act so kindly even under "nice optionsâ, simply doing the minimum they can under those options(but they still a very goofy kid),for example under âencourage"or "console"option during monstersâs fights, they simply make a joke, a smile ,or says what that the monster is doing is alright.
The way Frisk behaves in the game definitely doesnât match the way they are depicted in fanworks as their behavior under some acts is very creepy and in no way match how their fanon version is depicted.

Glitchtaleâs best (emotional) scene
Letâs just comment a scene that almost made me cry third times alredy. Itâs the reunion between Toriel and Chara.

This scene is one of the most emotional ones of the entire Glitchtale series, not just because of itâs quality but also because of itâs deep meaning. Iâll divide the analysis in 2 main parts which will divide in subparts.
QUALITY
We all know Camila Cuevas ( @camilaart ) has evolved as both an artist and a storyteller throughout the years. But, at which point has this become important and noticeable?
Well⌠letâs just say Camila has improved that much that itâs even a meme. Iâll leave some images of Season 1 AND Season 2 to see the changes:

This is one of the most iconic comparisons of all Glitchtale. The first screenshot is taken from the very first episode Megalomaniac and the second one is from Game Over (Part 1).
As you can see, the improvement is everywhere, I donât feel like something has to be said but: The backgrounds are way more detailed and feel like actual rooms instead of just flat images. The shadows are very noticeable and feel natural, they give it the anime-ish look Glitchtale deserves. The objects feel like theyâre there (look at that pillow, you would want to sleep there).
Iâd say thereâs a point where Camilaâs animation changed drastically and thatâs between the third and fourth episode of Season 2.
Hereâs a picture of Betty in S2E3 and S2E4:

You can alredy notice less thick lines and more details (yes I know the first picture is a battle scene and the second one is a more detailed-slow scene) yet, itâs noticeable in the episode.
Moving back to the scene, the expression of the characters is perfect for their feelings (which will be explained after):
Chara looks surprised, emotional, he canât explain whatâs going on but he suddently feels relief, something he had inside is finally gone, he is happy to see his family (deep explaining after) even though it feels like they just saw each other.

When you just look at Charaâs expressions you know they correspond to true feelings. The scene goes through entire different emotions to lead to Charaâs happiest moment.
DEEP MEANING
Chara was the first human to fall to the Underground. He was adopted by Asgore and Toriel to become their son (remember this is Glitchtale). He jumped to the Underground for a not very happy reason and ended up finding what would be his family.
Before his death, he couldnât make it up to the ones he loved, he made a mistake and died, leaving his family behind and them tearing it apart. Because Charaâs death lead to Asrielâs death and then to all Undertale events.
When he came back to Frisk as a âsassy ghostâ he saw everything Frisk did, thus including seeing his mum call Frisk my child, seeing her again without being able to say something to her, he was there but couldnât talk to his family. He also had to watch Asgore fight Frisk and separated from Toriel, it should have been horrible.
But then, wtf r u talking âboutÂż
Well, Chara was given the opportunity (forced to if you want) to take his place back with the inconvinient of forgetting his multiple journeys with Frisk (and Frisk himself).
Once he woke up, he saw what he thought he had lost forever, his family. The ones he loves, the ones who truly cared about him and the only ones who he truly cared about.
Seeing his parents again made him the happiest boy ever.
Bbbbbbbbut Frisk was also Toriel and Asgoreâs childdâŚ
No. Thatâs where youâre wrong. (I think) Camila likes Chara more than Frisk because Chara was real. He was a human who wanted to die because he had nobody to be with or that took care of him. Instead, he finally encountered what he deserved, a family.
Thereâs also a big difference between Frisk and Chara. Chara feels like Toriel, Asgore and Asriel are his family. For Frisk, they were just members he cared about more than his code. Unfortunately Frisk wasnât as human as Chara is (thereâs a theory about Frisk not being human at all but thatâs not mine, that goes to Jack Fenrir from the Glitchtale Aminoâs Theories chat).
I can prove that Camila sees it this way with 3 simple pictures (youâve alredy seen 2 of them in this post).

Even though Frisk needed to stay away from the ones he loved, Chara would NEVER do that to his family even if he had to do what Frisk had. Donât missunderstand me, Frisk loved them, he cared for them, but he isnât Chara. If you look at the scene entirely you can notice how Toriel starts to act like a mother (just like she would do with Asriel and Chara) trying to punish Frisk for having his sword and wanting to go out despite what she says, but Frisk knows that he isnât what he is pretending to be: Chara, which makes him even more sad (because he knows he canât have what Chara had, not in a jealous way, but more of wanting to be less of a ânon-emotional beingâ, the PLAYER).
On the other side we have Chara. Chara does care about them in every possible aspect, as a human would. Frisk called them mum and dad because it made him feel less âTHE PLAYERâ (still caring about them) but Chara feels it natural, just look at the scene:

After years of thinking he had lost what he most cared about, his family, his life, he was back. At first he didnât know it but, inside, he knew that this encounter was the most important one he had in a while.
Remember this is just my point of view, everything said is pure interpretation of the scene what it transmits to me.
As always, thanks @camilaart for creating this amazing story and animating it. The ammount of emotions you transmit is incredible. Stay always determined.

Just a silly idea i had from my sketches :3
Do you think that there's any reason for Kris to carry a knife every time??I mean, that knife probably didnt appear from nowhere=)
It definitely didnât appear from nowhere! Kris is somehow carrying it separately from the inventory and for probably many reasons (I have small theories on thisâŚ)

Whatâs fascinating is that Kris reaches to their chest without moving their other arm and pulls out this knife (Closer picture of the arm coming up, I am aware people think it literally appears when Krisâ arm comes up but that isnât the case)

I do consider they might be hiding it under the bandage so that the soul wouldnât notice by the time that Kris could take control again (Since the bandage is as far as I know the only piece of equipment that doesnât change regardless of what you equip in the other world, I could be wrong on this, I havenât tried much to confirm it)
My theory on thisâŚ
This isnât the first time Kris has dealt with this problem, the cage and wagon, the lack of decoration on their side of the room, I wouldnât be surprised if Kris has been possessed for much longer periods of time than just one day. (I say possessed because they clearly owned the save point before this soul took it) And that they keep this knife on them for all the times theyâve had to exterminate these souls⌠(I think the fact we can return to a previous save point is just a point of the first chapter/demo)
Little stories of things theyâve done in the past bother me, Susieis the first one to claim Kris as one of those quiet kids (During possession)Toriel saying they rarely get up on time or at all, Asriel even had to carrythem to school some days but even so⌠They liked pulling various pranks on theneighbours, crawled under Noelles bed to scare them, put a bath bomb in thetoilet, covered themselves in ketchup and claimed it was blood⌠Whereâs theprankster in deltarune? Did I miss it? Kris still fits the quiet personality atfirst by Susie, but as you talk with other characters around town they talkabout how DIFFERENT Kris is from normal, Notably, you can choose to tell sansthat itâs good to see him again, despite not meeting him before (This could be ajoke though, itâs hard to tell going by the other topics you can talk to himabout) The current soul possessing Kris cannot play the piano. Willingly talks to others, gets upset overchocolate with Asriel⌠At what point am I supposed to believe these feelingsare actually Kris and which ones are the soul possessing them??
It truly makes me wonder who this child is, sure you can say thatKris likes chocolate, that they are quiet, they are pranksters⌠but are they?
My Theory is that Kris has long since lost their identity, theyâvebeen possessed enough times that facing another day is gruesome because someonehas done something that they didnât want or taken a memorable moment from them(Like making friends or enjoying chocolate with their brother) Which also ties into why their room is so blank, why earnanything? Or keep something earned by someone else in your body? (or it couldbe severe neglect⌠WILL SOMEONE FEED THIS CHILD?)
This is all purely speculation and Iâm sure others have hadsimilar thoughts, Iâve not been able to read or watch any theories about thegame because wellâŚ. Been busy with all the animation stuff
Iâm not expecting to be right on ANY ofthis, Iâve ummed and ahhed over a lot of smaller theories before coming to thisone and sticking to it for now but thereâs not enough game to get a good handleon itâŚ
âAnimosityâ Stuff
