its 2022 and I’m still using mostly the DA wet oil brushes and i love it (but i’ve also used stuff from the free charcoal set from the official krita youtube, they’re very good).

I did a lot of bravely default this year and next year i would like to do less of that. literally everything ive done this year is bravely. i’m kind of really tired. get to draw more varied things im into, and getting into more things. to jumpstart this, i’m starting persona and replaying hades...

also i want to get better at drawing. i feel like i have the painting part down but the underlying drawing is always bad, i’m always fiddling with proportions, nothing really looks right without a lot of work, and it takes way longer than it needs to get a finished piece out. it is because i don’t know how to draw. i need to get back to the fundamentals. i will learn to draw hands and feet, for real this time

and i want to start doing comms next year too. will be required to figure that out in january for charity auction reasons and then we will see how that goes from there

in conclusion i did a lot of dumb stuff but some of it was cool. looking forward to doing more dumb maybe cool stuff next year. good luck to everyone in 2023!

uhh... how bdhell went. in the second image, the ones in red are unfinished, but that’s pretty obvious.

i wrote up a post on my ko-fi about the story behind this project but td;lr i wanted to make a lot of art based on the soundtrack. i started with the 10 protagonists, then went on to battle themes, plus eternity’s moment (airy), ballad to light (near bottom right corner) and a small one for pico pico battle medley (bottom right corner). and i kind of burned out so hard that i don’t want to work on the ones that aren’t finished for a while.

weirdly enough though i’m really proud of how a lot of these turned out even though they were pretty rushed and i was a complete wreck while i was doing these lol. I learned a hell of a lot, my art has improved because of this, and i’m glad that i had to be more of an overdramatic weirdo than usual.

i should finish these eventually but 1. oh my god i’d like to take my time. maybe finish one a month? and 2. airy and ouroboros have the same composition and its seriously actually bothering me and its the immediate reason why i rage quit in the first place.

i’ll be back tomorrow for a normal wrapped thing i guess but i wanted to send off this project before the year ends (it goes into the dumpster fire it once spawned from)
