Heya, I'm Peridots (any pronouns, they/it works fine)! Your average digital artist/entomology enthusiast! This is partly an art blog, but be prepared for occasional Bug Facts and other such randomness. Spam likes and all other positive interactions are appreciated here! Leif Should Get To Be Bright And Spiky Sometimes. As A Treat

A moderately stylized drawing of Leif from Bug Fables. He is standing facing the right side of the screen near the camera. His full body is visible, and he's drawn in a way that makes him more spiked and insect-like. His right arm is pointing diagonally down and to the right, and his left arm is making a "v"-shape as if he's holding something close to his head to inspect, but his fingers are mostly splayed out. Leif's right wings are parallel to the arm on that side, and his left wings are not raised at all. His antennae are held straight up and his stance is somewhat wide, like he's preparing to fight. His proportions are close to a human's, his thorax and head combined are as tall as his legs. A giant ice block that is also as tall as his head and thorax combined is hovering above his left hand, and there are smaller pieces of ice spread out in an arc next to it. The background is dark, and while it's mostly blank and abstract, there's a section on the lower half of the screen that's even darker, with a lined border, implying a floor.

Misunderstood the anatomy of a drawing so bad I had to make a character about it

Peach Tea!

A 28-year-old human...cat...centaur...thing who lives sometime in the 23rd century on Earth. She likes the 1980s and fabrics and consequently neon-level bright colors, though ancient fashion generally wasn't made for hexapods so she's had to make a few personal changes. She's a tailor for people with unconventional body plans, whether they need more sleeves for extra limbs or can't fit into gloves or their torso isn't the right size or shape for a shirt.

Tea's 6'8"/178cm when bipedal (though usually isn't very comfortable standing/walking upright, mostly owing to her short limbs), 5'1"/155cm when in her default quadrupedal position, and about 2'6"/76cm at the shoulder when hexapodal. She's probably around 180lb/82kg? All of her feet are hands. The fingers of said hands aren't particularly suited to bending backwards, so she walks on her knuckles most of the time.

She looks sort of startled/uncomfortable here but her resting face is somewhere between the ones in the upper left and lower right. She's usually pretty content and laid-back, if moderately blunt.

Hyperfixations are so weird because I can scroll past an intensely detailed and awesome piece of art someone took a week to make without a second thought cause it was for a fandom I'm not part of, so I'm not interested. And then you can show me a 15 pixels wide, blurry picture of a random wasp or a fork with eyes drawn and I'll go YES. BEAUTIFUL. LOVE THEM

Though it’s been a year since I was active in that fandom I do have the urge to draw WoF stuff, I just don’t know how to cater to my newly found “everything has to be anatomically accurate” side without thoroughly disregarding canon

i got inspiration from a certain red assassin from a hyperfixation i have yet to announce hollow knight hornet hk peridots-art there's open space on the outer sides between the neck segments closest to her head the other two neck joints work like elbows/knees and can flex back and forth. but the last one's just twisty four neck joints total if you count the one that connects to her chest/upper back idk why that's the tangent I'm going on I just didn't have enough space to illustrate it she uses a lot of slide knots. the one on her back in the top right is for her needle i would've given her more limbs if i wasn't a coward but i gave her a very humanlike frame so it just wouldn't have worked very easily works like a rolling pin. that's what i meant by the neck thing. the last joint works like the ends of a rolling pin. her head can spin at least 90 degrees in either direction. you get to decide how creepy she can be bugs almost thought the tags were out of order before I remembered i just phrased everything weirdly
