Sometimes I Forget How Reading Is Just. Marvelous. Just An Absolutely Fucking Endlessly Joyful Activity.
sometimes i forget how reading is just. marvelous. just an absolutely fucking endlessly joyful activity. i’ll go about my life and not read one single book for months and be like why am i morose! why am i so apathetic! what is missing here!!!! and try to look for whatever it is that is lacking and never find it anywhere and i get so tired and sad and angry, and then i’m finally like i’m gonna stop everything for a couple days and read a really good book bc i don’t care about anything else. and suddenly i get motivated to work bc i know i’ll read when i’m on break. i get more creative. i want to watercolor again and bust out the shameful fabric stash with all my unfinished sewing projects. god even my dreams get more vivid!! what the fuck! and i’m like here is the magic i was looking for, why did i ever think i was going to find it anywhere else. it was always here!!!

What genre of books do the shepherds like to read
Blade: short poetry books, historical fiction often featuring martial or military heroes (similar to wuxia) or knights like in Arthurian legends
Trouble: adventure novels, especially about exploring unknown lands or war dramas
Tallys: folktales, myths, and fairytale books, instructional books (such as how to grow such-and-such)
Shery: romance novels (and smut)
Riel: historical books, political and philosophical essays, autobiographies and memoirs
Chase: mysteries, thrillers, the occasional spicy romance
Halek: travelogues and cookbooks
Red: he’ll read and enjoy any book of any genre, but especially enjoys books describing magic before the Castigation and academic theses by other Mages
Ayla: she hates reading and won’t sit still long enough to finish most books, but will tolerate travelogues with lots of illustrations of plants and animals
Briony: she favors epic fantasy novels with strong heroines, but also enjoys romance and historical epics
Lavinet: romance novels, especially of the courtly intrigue or historical variety
I read somewhere that kirishima can draw so I did something cute
I saw a hc that said Callum likes drawing (which is canon), and Rayla loves writing AND to confirm this, just look at the letter she made for him (Dear Callum), so picture this scenery:
They're in the woods, the stars are gorgeous above them.
Rayla is sitting on a rock, and Callum is in the grass, he has his sketchbook in his lap and is admiring Rayla who also has a notebook in her hands, and is writing something, while Callum is drawing her.
Rayla is writing about how much she loves him and then stops for a moment to see the stars, Callum is looking at her, and he just can't stop thinking about how gorgeous she is, he can't even describe what he's feeling but captures the moment in his memory to draw her latter once the first sketch of Rayla writing is done
Needed a Callum profile picture to match my newfound obsession with The Dragon Prince - Also needed my first contribution to the TDR fandom, as well as my first post on this website ~
