"Two!", she proclaimed. " One chocolate, one vanilla. I didn't know which flavor you liked." She let go of the wagon handle to fix her black and blue gloves. "So um,Happy Birthday?", she asked in an awkward tone before picking up a cake and holding it in front of Monster. The candles on the cake were yet to be lit.

Well this was the sweetest thing anyone had done for him all day! Monster smiled and took the cake before setting it down carefully and giving the girl a big bear hug. “Thank youuu~! They’re both great!”

Monster grinned back, they were really making some headway in understanding each other, when Monster's stomach growled. Guess it was lunch time. "...Eh heh. Are you hungry?" Monster drew a few different types of fruit and and arrow towards his stomach, hoping he would get the message.

Sonic looked as his alternate drew what he assumed was his own home. Different looking trees, that’s for sure. While he still couldn’t fully understand Monster, he did understand what ‘Knothole’ meant. So he must have been in Knothole, too! Just a different one.

"Unterstant." He nodded with a grin. 

And cue Sable toting a wagon towards the werehog. "Sonic!", she yelled,waving like a madman.... err hybrid. In her red wagon laid two cakes,carefully frosted and with little candles on top.

"Huh? Oh, hey there! Long time no see- …Is, is that cake for me?"

(It's like the Archie team completely skipped over the cutscene with Sonic and Chip in Adabat and how important that was in defining Sonic's ...NOT FERALNESS.

Honestly, it's one thing for a fan like me to have my silly little interpretation for my own enjoyment, it's another thing entirely to write and compose an official story for the official comics. One should not look like the other...)

The Archie comics are playing out Werehog's reveal like an old Universal werewolf movie: showing signs here and there, Sonic becoming uneasy, his friends are talking about him behind his back, heck even Chao are hostile towards him. Now all we need is an old Romanian to walk up to him and start saying "Even a hedgehog who is pure of heart..."

As far as I’m concerned, the fact that Sonic could be influenced to an extent but never to the point of his mental faculties being consumed by his Werehog form was a defining thing about it. Him being an uncontrollable monster was exactly what I was against even from the very beginning when Unleashed was leaked in the March/April/May (I forget precisely when) of 2008.

I expect to see a feral Werehog in a half-baked Unleashed fanfic, not a SEGA-dictated (Thank GOD) comic.
