Monster grinned back, they were really making some headway in understanding each other, when Monster's stomach growled. Guess it was lunch time. "...Eh heh. Are you hungry?" Monster drew a few different types of fruit and and arrow towards his stomach, hoping he would get the message.

Sonic looked as his alternate drew what he assumed was his own home. Different looking trees, that’s for sure. While he still couldn’t fully understand Monster, he did understand what ‘Knothole’ meant. So he must have been in Knothole, too! Just a different one.

"Unterstant." He nodded with a grin.

Monster studied the drawing, easily making out Sonic and Tails, and what looked to be Sally... Then Sonic said Knothole, he knew that word. ...Ohhhh, now he was getting it!

"So you live in an alternate Knothole... I used to live there too." Monster sat next to Sonic and drew his Knothole next to Sonic's, still as crude as ever, but his trees looked like pine trees and seasonal trees like oaks. "See? That's where I grew up."

Sonic blinked as he was offered the pad and pencil, not knowing what it did. So in curiosity, he moved the pencil across the paper and…oh! Oh! He could draw with this! 

So taking it, he eventually made a crude drawing of his home - and what looked like himself, Tails and Sally in the middle of what looked like huts, surrounded by crudely drawn trees.

"[I’m from the Knothole Tribe.]" He said, not knowing if the other could understand him. "[We live in a big jungle!]"

...Fish? Well he hadn't had seafood in a while, and anything sounded good to a grumbling werehog belly, so he nodded. "Sure!" He then got up from their perch outside Apotos, expecting to head to town and go to the market.

Sonic blinked as he looked at the picture, before shaking his head. But knowing his alternate was hungry, and going on what Tails usually got for himself when he was hungry, he took the pencil and drew what looked like a fish along with an arrow pointing to his alternate.

Seems he was asking you if you wanted fish.

"Actually, I brought the party to you!" Monster’s wearing a hat too. "See, I even brought cake!" Indeed he did, cupcakes for the Sonics. "Happy birthday!"

*Sticks a party hat on the merhog* There you go! Now you're celebrating in style!

"…Is this a party hat? Oh no, we’re not going to party are we?"

"Hmm? ...Nah, just me. I mean, you might get more visitors with your birthday and all, but it's not cause of me." Monster shrugged and handed him a cupcake.

"Yep, my birthday too, but I thought It'd be better to spend it with others, you know?"

*Sticks a party hat on the merhog* There you go! Now you're celebrating in style!
