I Hate It When You Are Reading A Manga And It Gets Adapted- But The Colors Are Wrong. Like I Was So Convinced
I hate it when you are reading a manga and it gets adapted- but the colors are wrong. Like I was so convinced that Kleene from Eden’s Zero had white hair. So convinced. But apparently it’s green? It makes sense but also no. Same thing with Reina from Rave Master. She has red hair. But only in my mind. It goes better with her little seductress act going on. But apparently it’s also green? That’s just not right.

This has been a terrible week in my manga releases.
First in Vinland Saga, Thorfinn agreed to leaving Vinland, his dream he has had since he was young.
Then in Bungou Stray Dogs, Aya threw herself off a building and we still don’t know if Dazai is alive.
Next, in the Noragami raws, it seems Hiyori DIED and became a Shinki.
And to top it all of, the Fairy Tail chapter was actual shit.
HUGE SPOILER WARNING FOR BUNGOU STRAY DOGS CHAPTER 109.
I have an actual theory on why Dazai is alive. I might not have the how, but I have been trained by Fairy Tail’s author to spot fake out deaths. A small essay.
So when you get shot, you bleed. That’s a basic fact. Sometimes, even, to show a character has died without outright showing the violence, directors and mangaka will simply show a spattering of blood. In this panel:

And this one:

We see no blood from his head. We see some from his shoulder, where he did get shot, but none from his head. I have no clue why he is alive but you cannot convince me otherwise that he is dead. Now my theory might get a little shaky.
In all the actual character deaths I have seen, there always seems to be a big speech or moment. It is the characters last testament to the world. It could be something from a flashback (August in Fairy Tail) to a kiss goodbye (Reina in Rave Master) or a speech of hope (Koro-Sensei in Assassination Classroom).
Dazai has no speech or moment. Just basically a ‘this didn’t go in a direction that I planned’. Chuyaa shoots him the first time before he gets that moment. He has more character that needs to be fleshed out. It is a little too soon for him to die. And it wouldn’t fit thematically with him too. He wishes for death on the daily, but has never gotten it. It would be strange for him to magically get his wish with no buildup.
TL;DR: Dazai did not die in chapter 109 because there is no blood and because it doesn’t fit his character thematically.
My thoughts on Red White and Royal Blue.
I don’t know what the general consensus is for this book is but I did not like it. Like at all. I’m talking one of the worst books I’ve read.
It didn’t feel like a romance. It felt like the author had a lot of ideas for sex scenes but none for the plot.
It felt like more of a hookup book than a romance.
The thing that could have made it much better is any kind of true backlash to the FSOTUS and the Prince of England being gay. Sure, irl they may have some of the support of the youth and the parades they got, but there’d be a lot of backlash from traditional Republicans.
I just feel like it went way too well for them and there was no real fight back. It’s really unrealistic- this is coming from a bisexual who has lost friends because of that fact. I want actual representation, not hooking up in tack rooms.
TLDR: There isn’t enough plot to push through the ‘romance’ and this book isn’t really worth reading.
