While, I loved Osomatsu in this fic, I think the best character exploration happened with Karamatsu.

His role as a sniper for the team really highlights his sensitive, kind nature in how it will never let him live his violent life comfortably as another killer in the Iyami Administration.

But even though he’s struggling through it all, hating every step of the way, he adapts the best he can.

If he has to be a killer it’ll be with utmost care and kindness. If he has to shoot it’ll be instant and painless.

In the fic, Karamatsu doesn’t have tattoos, and, canonically, the boys don’t really like em, but I like to think that, in this universe, Karamatsu tattoos a rose petal for each person he kills as a way to force himself to remember them. To never let himself forget what he’s done.

And, I refuse to budge! I honestly need to draw him more, but Jyushimatsu has such a vice grip on my artistic side… He just so expressive and fun to draw in all kinda of goofy poses!

Though, I do relate to all the brothers (aside from their pervy natures — not my thing) to some degree.

I just think Osomatsu is underrated and how he responds to adulthood and family is really tragic to me. I feel like his carefree personality allows a lot of his struggles to fly under the radar.

Like how he doesn’t take care of himself as exemplified by S2 Ep27 during the super detergent skit.

Though, honestly, my love for the sextuplets is so strawberry milkshaking strong, all the other matsus basically tie for 2nd place in my heart.

They all HAVE SUCH RELATABLE QUALITIES, BRO-

Osomatsu and his fear of being alone and struggles with identity as he copes with the realization being the oldest sextuplet is all he ever had.

Karamatsu and how he internalizes his brother’s mistreatment and feels unloved.

Choromatsu and his fear of failure and general anxiety about his ability to be a good adult with a tangible future.

Ichimatsu and HIS loneliness and self-hatred and sabotage as he pushes everyone away because at least, this way, he can pretend he CHOSE being alone.

Jyushimatsu and HIS underrated struggle with identity as he sorta dehumanizes himself as just being “Jyushimatsu” and his tendency to put others before himself, often to his detriment.

And Todomatsu and HIS VERY UNDERRATED struggle with identity as how hard he tries isolates himself in a funny social position in which he’s so superficial, even if people did get to know him, he still has no one. No one besides his brothers who also fricking ISOLATE HIM FOR BEING SOCIALLY COMPETENT. HOME BOY CANNOT WIN FR-
