The intense mutual needs of the seventh house interactions awaken our deepest fears, vulnerabilities and stresses of the eighth house. Faced with such fear and vulnerability, makes us question and hesitate before getting involved with others (seventh house). This hesitation forces us to be more careful in battle and more willing to serve rather than win (seventh house)

Those who are inexperienced with the ways of human nature may have shocks when the hidden information of 8th house is discovered

Unfulfilled Desires?

Unfulfilled Desires?

One of the biggest lessons I learned as an adult was the reality of unfulfilled desires. It was something that I'd never dreamt as a possibility. I thought that if you feel it deeply and work towards it, your desires will come true. Or just living in the future will make the desire happen. Or feeling it all over your body and your intuition and seeing coincidences is proof that your desires will come true. Unfulfilled desires are like empty buckets, they may be filled someday so the wait keeps perpetuating.

Despite knowing people in external world who lived with unfulfilled desires, unreached potential and unaccomplished goals, I, for some reasons, thought that I was exceptional and different. I do not mean to say that one must live in misery, frustration and depression all the time. Some door opens when others are closed..

Unfulfilled Desires?

What I mean is that this concrete reality of 'unfulfilled desires' is something we don't talk much about. Sometimes it feels like the unfulfilled desires are socially silenced to the extent that a person buries and curls themselves up into a symbolic ball. So that nobody can see their unfulfilled desires and aspirations, and consequently gaze at their vulnerability aka emotional nakedness.

But maybe if we talk about it... Or perhaps it's better if we don't?

When you encounter the gaze of the Other, you meet not a seeing eye but a blind one. The gaze is not clear or penetrating, not filled with knowledge or recognition; it is clouded over and turned back on itself, absorbed in its own enjoyment. The horrible truth … is that the gaze does not see you. … You are on your own; the gaze of the Other is not confirming, it will not validate you.

I realise that this is a known thing, but trying to find good animal images really brings home the extent to which many non-human animals are commodified to the point where we seldom even think of them as living beings anymore.

I mean, try typing 'lobster' or 'chicken' into a stock images site and see how far down you actually have to scroll before you find a picture of a sentient animal rather than a corpse. I just wonder about the psychological impact of the ubiquitous objectification of animal bodies, and how that effects our ability to empathise with them.
