Finally watched A Woman Under the Influence last night. As a kid who grew up in a volatile environment with parental mental illness and generational trauma, anxiety, and rage, I have to say that seeing this unearthed some difficult feelings. I had one of those deep, bone-shaking, cathartic crying bouts after. I don't know if I'll be able to watch it again, but I'm glad that I did. I've never seen anything like it. Gena Rowlands is a master of her craft.
