i typically tic most when i am with friends and family(i have no idea why, that’s just how it goes for me). i tic more when i am stressed and anxious.
one time my mom and i were talking about Jews and i said hitler really loud, i also say satan plenty enough.
i have an echo tic which makes me ‘echo’ what people say, and it often turns into a tic
they can be, but mine normally aren’t.
YES. when ever i see another person tic i tic, and it turns into a never ending cycle of ticking.
sometimes i randomly think of something and it turns into a tic, so i kinda know what will come out, but its very strained because my tics aren’t normally sentences.
Questions for people with Tourettes!
I notice a pattern in Youtube videos by people with Tourettes, so I want to ask:
How much does the environment affect your tics? Will you tic less in some places and more in others? Or is it related to how relaxed or anxious you are?
Do your most offensive tics (if you have any) seem to crop up in environments where you know those are bad things to say / bad gestures to make? (ie saying the N-word repeatedly at a Black Lives Matter rally or giving people the middle finger at church / temple.)
How suggestible are Tourettes tics? Like, if someone says something to you enough times, will you start to repeat it as a tic?
Are there tics that are only triggered by certain images, music, phrases or any other stimuli?
Is the mechanism behind your tics acting up in response to someone else’s tics similar to having the urge to yawn / actually yawning because you saw somebody else yawn?
If you tic entire random phrases (ie “elephant pajama recitals!” / “Saturn ate the Queen’s makeup!”), do you know what’s about to come out before you say it, or does your mouth just blurt it and leave you as surprised as whoever hears you?
–Btw I fully understand that tics are not you shouting out or gesturing exactly what you’re thinking, and I know not everyone has swearing / vulgar tics.

Allow me to impart some knowledge upon y'all.
Tics are not cute. They are extremely painful, and you calling them cute is devaluing my pain.
Please stop fetishizing my disability.
