Whump: The Musical Day 10: Rent ("Feels Too Damn Much Like Home.")

Fandom: The Clone Wars

Summary: while on Geonosis, Anakin feels too close to home. He never did like sand.

Some part of Anakin Skywalker never stopped calling Tatooine home. Even though he lived at the Jedi temple  on Coruscant, he had grown up on that sandy planet. It would take four days to travel just to get there.

So being in Geonosis was strange. The planet had the same hellish feeling as his home world. Memories of who he had tended to linger in his mind.

It seemed like yesterday the boy was pod rasing and trying to distract himself from the horrible things that happened in the desert planet of Tatooine. The nine year old would try to reassure his mother that he was okay, that the fights and spice dealing never bothered him.

In truth it had. How could people be so ready to kill each other, he would wonder. While now he understood the willingness to kill now, the little boy he had been hadn't gotten there yet.

Other than with Waldo, the stupid, slimy man who had kept him and his mother enslaved. Even when he was younger, if Anakin could have killed him, he would have. Maybe then his mother wouldn't be dead.

Most of the time, when Anakin thought about his mother's death, he blamed himself. That did change.

The sand that moved under the Jedi's feet, always made him think of home. It was never pleasant, but he would go where he was needed. The council would still ask from time to time, mindful of his trauma, if he was sure about taking the missions. Every time he would say yes.

The sun's heat beat down on Anakin and Obi-wan. Another thing that bothered him. With his tolerance of the heat, Anakin never thought that it made sense for it to bother him so much. Maybe it wasn't the heat, but instead the memories.

"You seem distracted" Obi-wan told him. The two walked side by side. At first Anakin didn't say anything. So Kenobi continued, "are you okay?"

"Feels too damn much like home" Anakin scowled. "The sand and the heat, they just remind me of Tatooine."

Thinking about what to say in response, Obi-wan nodded. "If you need anything-"

"I'm fine" Anakin interrupted. Again, the older Jedi nodded.

Anakin wasn't sure if he was actually okay. Still, what else was he going to say. 'Reminds me of my dead mother, of the first nine years of my life when I was a slave who had to win his freedom by winning a pod race?' Yeah he didn't think so. The sand kept moving under his feet and he knew that it would be everywhere later.

Still, he couldn't afford to let his disdain of sand get in his way. The man has a mission to accomplish, a bunch of tiny rocks would not stop him. So, with the memories of his old home clouding his head, the two Jedi moved forward.

                          ………………

After the mission, Anakin sat in his bed. He tossed his shoes off of his feet and ignored the sand that fell onto his floor. The thoughts of his mother's death always made him angry and unpredictable. Obi-wan knew this. It felt like his last master had been watching him excessively. It wasn't like he couldn't control it, at least that's what he liked to think.

While the mission was a success, Anakin had no real sense of accomplishment. It was the same feeling he would get back in Tatooine. Laying down, the man tried not to think about it. No good would come from it. Hopefully he would get a break from the sand.

June of Doom Day 8: "This is Your last Chance."

Fandom: Spy X Family

Warnings: Torture and major character death

Summary: Twilight is caught by the SSS. While trying to find a way to escape, Loid finds he is running out of options.

Twilight didn't know how he ended up in some dark shady basement, but he knew that he was in one. What had he been doing before waking up here? His hands were in chains up. The metal cuffs wrapped his wrist harshly. With his hands above his head, he could already feel his fingers starting to go could.

There was a door across from him. It was a gray, metal door and it was only seven or eight feet away from him. Pulling his body down, Loid tried to see if he could touch the door. When he came to the conclusion it was not possible, he pulled his legs closer to his body.

As Loid looked around, pieces of what had happened started to fill his mind. Bond and him had been doing a simple mission for his handler. Just grab some Intel and get out. Something had messed up the mission when everything had gone black. Where was Bond? Had he gotten away? Loid hated to admit it, but Bond had become one of his closest friends. Where was his dog?

Without a way to get the answer to where Bond was without escaping, Loid tried to focus on assessing the room. With the way the door hinges lay, the door opened in. That could be a useful detail for Loid's escape. The room had no windows and was only lit by a small lamp in the corner of the room. Going for the lamp, Loid used his feet to try to move it closer to him.

When that failed, he decided that he had to remove the chains first. Without anything else, Loid needed to dislocate a bone in his thumb to be able to free himself. Looking at his hands, the spy made the decision to start with his left hand.

The process of dislocating your thumb in a way to be able to force your hands out of handcuffs, was one Loud knew well. He could visualize the 27 bones that were in his hand. The first CVC joint needed to be dislocated so that he could move the metacarpal out of the way of the cuffs. He knew the exact angle and amount of pressure if took to dislocate the joint. He knew exactly how to relocate the bone and how many times he had pulled this painful trick out of his sleeve.

It would get easier as time went on and as he did more damage to his joints. However, sometimes damaging himself was the only way to escape. Loid was always careful with went he dislocated his his right thumb. That hand was his shooting hand after all.

Before he could do anything, Loud heard footsteps in the hall. From the sound of them, the suspect would be about six feet tall and around 180 pounds. They wore slightly healed shoes so likely they were some kind of business shoes.

When the door opened, it was silent. The light from the hall, hurt Loid's eyes. The man was quiet at first. He walked in and shut the door. As Twilight had expected, the man fit his expected description. He had auburn hair, fair skin, and green eyes. But that wasn't the first thing Loid noticed. The man wore an SSS uniform.

"Damn it" Loid thought. This couldn't be good.

"Hello." The man had a deeper voice. "Twilight."

A chill ran thought Loid's spin. How could he know? How did the SSS learn that he was Twilight.

"What?" Loid's surprise came easy to him.

    "It is Twilight right?"

"Who is Twilight?" Loid slipped parts of his own fear into his voice. "Where am I?"

"Where you are, is of no concern to you. As for who is Twilight, you know the answer."

"I don't know! Why am I here!?" As they argued, Loid tried to figure out how the SSS had uncovered him. Has they uncovered him as Loid Forger? Where Anya and Yor okay? Bond had been with Loud when he was caught. Where was he? What kind of gun did the agent have and where did he keep it? Loid was confident he could kill him if he could take him by surprise. Where did Yor think he was? Would he be able to get any assistance from WISE?

It took Twilight a moment to realize he had been so quick to worry about his 'fake' family. He really did care about them. Hopefully, they hadn't been wrapped into his discovery.

"You are Western spy. You're Organization is WISE, no?"

    "No!"

"Well then, who are you?" The SSS agent walked towards him, confidently.

"My name is Leon Thorn." It had been a long time since Twilight had used tears as a way to try to convey innocence.

"So is that what you go by now a days?"

"What?" Loid let his voice break. "I'm not a spy!" Tears fell down his face. However, the agent had given him the answer of 'did they know Loid Forger was Twilight?'

As the agent kneeled, Twilight swept his feet out from under him. Then he lunged forwards. As the enemy grabbed his gun, Loid tried to get it into his hands. As the SSS agent raised the gun, the spy went to kick it away from him.

The State Security Service was smart enough to send a skilled agent. The green eyed man grabbed his ankle and slammed it into the ground so hard it broke. Suddenly Loid's ankle was bleeding and there was a gun in his rib cage.

Trying to pull his hands down, Twilight jurked himself forward. The pressure only hurts his wrist as he was slammed back into the dark gray wall.

    "Twilight."

Loid didn't answer. Instead he just stared at him, hate in his eyes. Yet no amount of hate Loid could have in his eyes would match the storm going on in the agent's. It was like a witch's cauldron.

"After all this time, you've finally been caught." Jabbing the gun further into Loid's Ribs, he continued to talk. "I didn't believe my colleague when he said he believed he had seen Twilight."

With every problem Twilight had to face, he found himself wondering about Bond more then anything. "Where is my dog?"

"Really? That's the first thing you say? How the hell should I know?!"

Bond had gotten away. Maybe he would go and find Franky? However, it was unlikely. Bond would likely be taken to the pound as a stay where they would call the apartment.

    Twilight didn't answer.

"Now, Twilight, you can answer my questions or we can do this the hard way. While it may not look like there is much I can do to you in this room, I have a few methods and a few items outside of this room I can bring in."

    Again, Loud stayed silent.

"This is your last chance." The gun was jammed further into Loid's side. Blood started to seep through his clothes. The pain forced him to have a physical reaction to it. Using his legs, Loid attempted to shove the agent. He was lucky the gun didn't go off. Instead the agent stood and slammed it over his head. "You'll regret that."

The man turned around and started to walk to the door. "And don't think you'll slip your hands out of those cuffs; they are meant to stop your kind."

"Let's see if you remain fealty to your country." As he opened the door, he started to yell at someone Loid couldn't see. "Find the damn dog that was with him and figure out who 'Leon Thorn' is!" The door slammed after him. Loid could only hope they would leave Bond alone.

Loid wasn't sure how long it had been. Normally, he was good with time. He lay with his back against the wall. There was little feeling in his hands. All he could feel was they were cold and they hurt. Everything hurt.

The man feared footsteps in the hall. It had been a long time since he had truly experienced fear. Twilight had been water boarded, burned, starved and beaten. Multiple of his bones had been broken. His WISE pin stabbed into his chest, over his heart. A knife had been drug across his body, creating rivers of blood on his skin. One stab wound in his left hip had gone down to the bone.

Blood poolled around Twilight. The man was shivering, his breathing was quick. His eyesight was blurry as he looked around the room. Looking at his hands, he tired to pull them to a place where he would be able to hold some injuries. However they were to close to the wall.

Putting his left arm over his head, Twilight tried to pull his hand down hard enough to dislocate his CVC joint. The force was to much and tears formed in his eyes. The thoughts of death that Loid had tried to avoid broke into his mind as he started to shake worse. The taste of salt unnerved him. As he started to cry, his tears mixed with his blood and got caught in some facial lacerations. After trying to dislocate his thumb for a moment, the man gave up and laid his arm back on the wall.

As Loid pulled his legs a bit closer to him, the door opened.

"This is your last chance." The agent spoke harshly. Loid breathed heavily, tears still following from his eyes. Air didn't seem to want to go into his lungs. The pain he felt, was something he learned he could have only imagined. "Tell us the locations of WISE's hideouts or you die."

Loid stayed silent other than his soft cries.

    "Fine, have it your way."

Was this it? Dying in some dark room in Ostania? Loid thought about Anya and Yor and Bond. He hoped they would be okay. There was nothing left for him to do. The SSS agent sighed as he pulled out his gun. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to shoot you in a way you'll die quickly."

"Whats-" Loid coughed. "Your name?" The only tactic that Twilight had left was humanizing himself.

    "Funny."

"I want to know the name of my executioner." Twilight squeezed out the words.

    "Thomas."

    "Hello Thomas."

    "Hello Twilight."

"Good job, everything hurts." Loid tried to laugh but ended up quietly whimpering.

Thomas gave Loid an amused smile. "I know what you are doing. Don't bother."

"Okay." Loid realized just how badly he was shaking. He was terrified and it wasn't death that scared him. "It's cold."

    "That's the blood loss."

    "I know."

The man walked over to Loid. "Goodbye Twilight." Loid met Thomas's eyes. He let out a shaky breath as he realized this really was it.

The dead in Loid's eyes surprised Thomas. He saw the pain, tiredness and worry that must have been around for years. He sighed. "Do you have a name?"

    "Loid."

"I'll take your dog to a shelter if we find him."

"Thank you. He-" blood came out of Loid's mouth; "has a tag. My wife and daughter, know nothing."

"Okay. This really is your last chance." Thomas's voice was lower then it had been. Loid hadn't remembered that while they were enemies, harsh facades could fade.

    "I won't."

"Then-" placing the gun over the spy's heart, Thomas continued; "Goodbye Loid." Then he shot.

Day 5: Heathers (Reluctant Whumper)

Fandom: The Owl House

Summary: Hunter is sent to kill a wild witch. Even if he doesn't want to, he has to.

Hunter had been told that obedient was the best thing he could be. It was the best way to help his dear uncle. It was as the titan had intended.

He never questioned it. At least outwardly. Being sent to find wild witches was something Hunter had never minded. Missions to find titans blood or other mythical objects weren't rare and it didn't matter who got hurt or killed as long as he came back with what he was sent for.

Even if he never found titans blood, he came back with most everything else. But this mission was different. When Belos had told him that his only job was to find a wild witch and kill her he opened his mouth to protest. 'Maybe she's not past redemption?' he thought.

But he was obedient. He was like a loyal dog who ran back to their owner even after being kicked over and over. He was hurt over and over but he still ran to Belos. There was no one else he had to listen to, to guide him.

So off he went. Killing was something he was uncomfortable with. Hunter had never taken a life. He never wanted to. But this was what he was needed for. It almost felt as if Belos was trying to get rid of him.

But that couldn't be the case. All Hunter had ever done was what he was told or what was in the best interest of Belos. It wasn't easy.

Hunter found the witches home. It was smaller but pretty. There was a window to crawl into so he walked to it. Placing his staff off to the side of the window, the boy crawled inside. He walked around until he heard laughter.

It felt like his heart stopped. The witch had a friend over. He walked back out to the living area and stepped into the kitchen. Picking up a piece of fruit he reseated the situation.

The truth was he could hurt her. It didn't matter what Belos wanted. Hunter couldn't do it. He had to return to say he hadn't found her or that he had failed to end her life.

But how could he return empty handed. How did he walk into the castle knowing that he left instead of even trying? Could Belos know? What would happen if he found out?

Hunter sighed as footsteps came from the hall. He hid behind a counter as he listened to two women talking. "I thought I heard something."

The two women looked around the room until they found Hunter. "Golden guard." The target spoke. "Why are you here?"

The boy just looked at her. She didn't look evil. Her shoulder length deep blue hair was half but up. Her clothes were nicely put together and so were her partners.

But what now? He stood behind the counter with a knife. A knife he had barely realized he had in his hand. It had been given to him by Belos for the mission. "Routine checkup, I'll be going now." That was the best thing he could come up with.

The witch knew better than to believe that. "Sasha, grab my plainsmen." The target said. Sasha nodded and ran out of the room.

Whether Hunter liked it or not, it was time to fight. Running to the window, he was pulled back inside before he could grab his staff. "I know why you're here."

    "You do?"

"I'm not stupid, you're here because I'm a wild witch. By the look of the knife, you're probably gonna kill me."

Hunter tried to explain but the women didn't give him a chance. As Sasha thew her partner her plainsmen, the boy was thrown to the ground.

With a plainsmen pointed at him, it became a matter of life and death. Hunter chose life. He didn't want to do it. Ever since he left the castle, he had been trying to find a way to avoid the bloodshed.

The boy kicked the staff and grabbed his knife. He drove the knife into her chest and stepped away from the boy. Sasha screamed as she watched her lover fall to the ground. "May" she whispered as she moved over to her.

The boy thought he might cry. Hunter figured he shouldn't stick around to kill her too. It didn't seem like a good idea to face Sasha, she was twice his size and even if he had fought people her size, he didn't feel like it today.

While the college-aged women ran to her deceased partner's side, Hunter jumped out the window. Grabbing his staff, he ran off into the woods to report back to Belos.

Avoiding Belos's wrath was good. The teen tried to focus on that. If he didn't, he'd have to deal with murdering someone. Why did he do everything he was told? Hunter followed every order, even if he didn't want to. It didn't seem fair. Maybe he should have just made May join a coven?

None of that mattered now. It didn't matter that he hadn't wanted to kill May, he did. The pain that her grieving lover and her lizard like palisman must have felt was something he couldn't comprehend yet.

Returning to the castle, Hunter informed Belos that he had completed his task. Once dismissed, he went to his room. There he laid on his bed. It would be a long night.

June of Doom Day 1: "Help Me."

Fandom: The Bad Batch

Warning: Major character death

Summary: Hunter and Omega make their way back to the Marauder after finding themselves cornered by imperials.

Grabbing Omega, Hunter ducked behind some rocks. Ciddarin Scaleback seemed to love leaving out important details when she gave the batch missions. Like always, the clones learned the left out details the hard way.

Imperials where like a plague, they were everywhere. Maybe Cid hadn't know, she seemed found of them. If she had known, she had some explaining to do.

"Stay down" Hunter told Omega. She listened. Listening to his surroundings, the man tried to find the best escape route.

"They went this way!" An imperial Stromtrooper yelled to his troops.

"Hunter, what are we gonna do?" Omega whispered.

Pointing to a nearby tree, Hunter directed the girl to hide behind it. She nodded and ran over to the pine tree. Hunter followed her, trying to keep her safe.

After a while of making their way though the think forest, everything seemed quiet. "Are we clear?"

"We should be. Come on, let's get back to the ship." Hunter placed a hand on Omega's back to help guide and comfort her. The forest started to thin as they walked closer to their family.

"Are you close?" Echo asked over the comm.

"We should be." Hunter answered. "We are nearing the end of the forest."

    "Okay."

The two continued walking along the edge of the forest until the Marauder was in their sight.

"There!" Bullets flew passed the two clones as the ran for cover.

Hunter wasn't sure what had happened. Anytime they were under fire, Omega was in his sight. The night was cold and the dark had a way of hiding the important part of life. She was almost right in front of him. Then she screamed. Soldiers had cornered them, a move the batch used often.

"Omega!" Hunter grabbed her from the ground and pulled them behind the sharp rock they had been running for. Looking at her, it wasn't hard to tell she had been shot. Blood flower from her right below the center of her chest.

Putting pressure on her wound with one hand, Hunter grabbed his blaster and peared around the rock to locate the imperials. Taking a shot at one of them, the soldier fell to the ground. "It's okay. You're going to be okay, kid."

Omega didn't answer. Her sobs would have drowned out her words if she had tried to speak.

Hunter sat with Omega in his lap. He held her wound, trying to stop the bleeding. The girl cried out in pain. "I know, I know. Just hold on." Kneeling to try to shot the imperials, the man tried to keep one hand on Omega's chest, keeping pressure on the wound.

On the Marauder, Tech had been waiting in the cockpit for Omega and Hunter. Deciding to stand, he walked down the the ramp. Echo joined him after a few moments. The two said nothing.

Then they heard the gun shots. Without any words, Echo and Tech took off, running down the rest of the ramp with their weapons drawn. They heard the screaming and crying and the gunshots. They needed to hurry.

"Omega." Hunter tossed his gun off to the side, ingnoring the still approaching imperials. "Come on, stay with me."

A few more gunshots went off and Hunter covered Omega with his body. When all but Omega's screaming was silent he sat back up and kept trying to hold her wound.

"Hunter" Echo started, he watched the woods, carful of enemies. Tech ran over from behind their brother.

"Help me! Tech, help me! Omega's been shot!" Tears fell down Hunter's face. He was shaking. Blood covered his hands and his chest from here he had covered her. Omega's previously white shirt was stained red. The girl cried.

    "Help me!"

"Hunter" Tech said quietly. Omega's crying had become silence and the fast paced fall and rise of her chest had stopped completely.

"No no no! Help me! She's hurt Tech! Help her!" Hunter begged.

"Hunter" Tech kneeled down to him. "With what we have available, we cannot help her."

"No you have to help her" he almost whispered. The sound of her cries was still ringing in his ears. "She's in pain" he muttered, "you have to help her. You have-" Hunter broke out into sobs. "Help-"

Echo kneeled down to Hunter. "We have to go."

Hunter stood, still shaking. Blood stained the grass where she had laid. Adjusting his googles, Tech followed close behind Echo and Hunter. It was going to be a long night.

June of Doom Day 4: Punishment

Fandom: Star Wars The Clone Wars

Summary: After a night at 79s, Obi-wan and Cody are on their way back to the Jedi Temple when Maul Kidnaps the two.

Next part here: (at some point)

The memory of the evening was blurry. He had been near 79s, a popular bar among the clones, on Coruscant with his commander. The two had brought drinks for each other, trying to warsh away some of the terror of war.

It had been late when they wrapped up their night. The sky was as dark as it would be. Some 212th troopers talked to some Coruscant Guard members by the bars entrance.

The two lovers where around five minutes away from the bar when Obi-wan felt it; the looming presence  of an old enemy. "Cody dear" he began, "something's not right."

    "What wrong?"

"It's-" then strong hands pulled Obi-wan back into an alley.

"Obi-wan!" Cody tried to get to him. Before he could reach him, the world went dark.

The first thing Obi-wan noticed waking up was just how cold the floor Obi-wan sat up. His hands were chains to the wall. Across from him, just barely out of reach, laid Cody. The clones hands were also chained to the wall. Slowly, he sat up as well.

    "Cody?"

Concern grew on Cody face. "Obi-wan? What's going on?"

"I'm not sure." On instinct, Obi-wan went to grab his lightsaber. His hands were pulled back by the chains.

The two listened as metal footsteps grew lower.

"Maul." Obi-wan whispered. Fear flooded his mind. Looking over at Cody, he sighed. "It will be okay."

    Cody nodded.

"I thought you would be more careful" Maul scowled.

    "Hello Maul."

"You took everything from me." Maul started to walk around the room. "I told you I would take everything from you."

"Maul, I believe we are even. Please, stop this. It's not good for either of us. Please, move on."

"You destroyed me!" He yelled, walking quickly over to Obi-wan.

    "I'm sorry."

Maul kneeled down to the man and grabbed his face. "Lier!" Harshly, he shoved Obi-wan back into the wall.

"Obi-wan" Cody said, panicked. Maul looked at the clone.

"Just look at me" Obi-wan's voice shook. "Leave him out of this. Please, leave him alone."

    "You care to deeply, Jedi."

"Cody has done nothing to you."

"He loves you. He allows you to be happy. That is what he has done to me. That is what I will kill him for."

Obi-wan's eyes glanced over to Cody. He looked frightened. Squirming, the man tried to remove the chains from his wrist. "It's okay" he whispered. "I'm okay." But Obi-wan knew he wasn't okay. Even if he was, he wasn't going to be for much longer.

Standing, Maul slowly walked towards Cody.

"Please, don't hurt him! I'm the one who hurt you, take me! You want us to be even, take my legs, kill me!"

Cody had never seen Obi-wan like that. The sith just laughed.

    "It's okay."

"No" Obi-wan whispered. "I'm so sorry." The man's hands had started to bleed from the repeated pressure that were forced upon them as Obi-wan tried to free himself.

There was nothing he could do to stop Maul from hurting Cody. There was nothing he could do as he repeatedly hit him, blood spilling from every new wound.

This was his punishment. Obi-wan wanted it to be just his burden, but instead, the people who were close to him were punished for loving him. Had the Jedi known this would have been his future, he would have made sure to kill Maul. Even if it meant he had to go to the deepest pit of hell to kill him.

Finally, Maul kneeled down to Cody and shoved his cold hand to his face, holding him. Forcing Cody to look him in the eyes, he pressed his nails into his skin.

The look in Cody's eyes that Maul was meant with, was not one of fear, but one of anger. He eyed his crying lover and his gaze softened for just a moment. When Maul jurked his head, Cody spit in his face. Angered, the sith shoved Cody into the floor. Then he stood.

"Cody" Obi-wan whispered.

As Maul walked away, Obi-wan fought against his chains. "Cody!"

Maul chuckled as he walked. He disappeared as he turned the corner in the hall.

"Cody. I'm so sorry. Please, hold on." Tears fell down his face.

"I'm" Cody hissed as he tried to sit up, "okay."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't ha- I'm sorry." Obi-wan cried.

Giving up on sitting up, Cody laid down. Trying to smile, he looked over to Obi-wan, "It's, not your fault."

"He's trying to get to me."

"Obi-wan" Cody said, his voice just above a whisper. "We'll be okay."

"I'm not worried about me."

"I'll be fine."

The two looked at each other.

Still fighting against his chains, Obi-wan sighed. "I love you" he whispered.

"I love you too." Now they just needed to figure out how to escape.
