Having My Phone Just Randomly Die On Me The Other Morning Has Made Me Realise A Few Things, But One Thing
Having my phone just randomly die on me the other morning has made me realise a few things, but one thing in particular is that I’m not sad that I lost the stuff that was on the phone, I’m sad for my past self. Evidence of her doesn’t exist anymore. Pictures, notes, period tracking. It’s all gone. And yes it affects the me today, but it also makes me sad that past me is no longer anywhere were I can reach her somewhat comfortably, and it makes me kinda upset that things she’s worked so hard to achieve is now gone.

This is what I did during the pandemic after I'd lost a bunch of my friends bc of some stupid fight. I had to almost force myself to be happy. I said, "Joy!" like Starfire does in Teen Titans Go whenever something positive happened. I trained myself like a dog with positive reinforcements and words, and I'd like to say it kinda worked.
I'm pretty stinkin' happy now, even tho everything in my life might not be. I tried to focus on only the good things. I subscribed to positive news outlets, I cleared up my social media fyp's to only be abt wholesome things like small animals, cooking, crochet etc, and I focused on stuff I remembered I'd liked before. And slowly but surely I got better. It took ages and a good handful of breakdowns in between, but I'd say I'm much much happier now than I ever was before.
And after a while you just stop. You stop watering your plants. You stop watching netflix. You stop reading. You stop replying to your friends as fast as you used to. You stop buying yourself nice things. You stop putting an effort into how you look. You stop taking care of yourself like you used to. You stop sleeping. You stop eating healthy foods. You stop petting your dog. You stop socializing.
You stop with everything. You find yourself sitting in your room for hours on end, without doing a single thing. Days feel like years. And you think you can’t do it for much longer.
