Full Moon Wish Jars

(An anytime update to my Supermoon Wish Jars post.)

Intent: To harness the power of the lunar cycle for the manifestation and fulfillment of wishes.

Materials:

Small Jar with tight-fitting lid

Chime candle & fire source

Oil for sealing

Herbs and Items representing your wish

Ideal Timing: Waxing or Full Moon

Find a clear space to work. Make sure it’s free of fire hazards. If possible, try to work near a window through which you can see the moon. (If you don’t have one, that’s all right too, since you’ll be setting the jar out for the moonlight when finished.) Light your candle, focus your intentions, and get to work.

Select herbs and trinkets which fit inside the jar to represent your wish. For example, if your wish is for money or prosperity, you might include coins or small craft gems. If your wish is for health, you might include vitamin pills or a charm representing medicine. Check your books for herbs or crystals that correspond to your wish as well. This is your wish - make the spell your own. The contents of the jar can be whatever you want. Use the materials that resonate best with you, but remember that your intent is the most important component of all.

Some common plants associated with wishmaking include:

Bamboo

Bay Leaf

Blue Violet

Dandelion Seeds

Dogwood Petals

Nutmeg

Peppermint

Sage Leaf (any color)

Sunflower Petals or Seeds

Once your jar is complete, drip three drops of wax from the candle into the jar and circle the mouth of the jar three times with the oil to seal the charm. Then cap the jar and seal it with wax. Leave your thumbprint in wax on top of the lid. Place the jar somewhere that it will be touched by the light of the full moon and leave it overnight. The jar should work for about a month, or slightly longer if you’re working with a supermoon. When the next full moon rolls around, you can recharge the jar by leaving it out overnight again, or make a new jar with a new wish.

The dusty jumble of items I have gathered over the past 3 years waiting to be cleansed/dusted: 👁👄👁

A bit unrelated but I need some input on this and it's pretty important. I recently visited distant family (great grandparents and grand uncle.) Its been over two years since we last saw them cause of covid. We did not want to risk it and get any of them sick.

My grand uncle would always come over to me everytime I came over to visit. Ask to see the artwork I have been making/ask to look through my sketchbook. And would take pictures of them. At first when I was a bit younger I did not think much of it. He appreciated it and would say "Never get to see art like this" etc etc all those typical family compliments to artist in the family.

But one thing that started to concern me was that he slipped up and said "My guy/friend would love this." He muttered it more so to himself I think. But he never told me who or where he was sending pictures of my art to. I am becoming a bit more serious with my work (I want it to be involved in my career path in some way in the future)

Don't get me wrong I appreciate the support but taking pics and sending them out to strangers with out giving me a idea of who. For all I know he could be selling them/giving them to crazy/weird friends of his. Some of which are illustrators (not sure specifically what kinds but for all I know they could be taking/using my work in someway.)

As much as I would try to tell or question him. He is typically drunk or intoxicated in some way. And at times he could get ticked off so I don't want to cause too big of a scene. I am always shut down if I try to speak up more on something or try to defend myself in general. If I do I am afraid that it will just blow up in my face. I will be seeing them again possibly later on closer to christmas. So I want to have a idea of what to say/do.

Types of spells

I honestly think my introductions annoy people and… will continue doing them uwu. Hi witches around the world! While trying to create a spell (im a baby witch, i do not create spells at all) i remembered that types of spells exist so here is your types of spell post!

Incense Spell

This spells don’t last long, for realizing them you have to burn incense and when it finishes burning its done. Generally its used for yourself but doing it for other people might work too.

Candle Spell

One of the most common spells out there, basically you use candles and should consider colors and sizes! (post about color magick: here)

Sigil

Is a drawn magick that puts your intentions in a paper, generally you can create them or if lazy you can look in tumblr for some other witches sigils!

Spoken Spell

This is a chant, phrase, etc with intention in mind. Even though it doesn’t sound really powerful, if you put energy in it… it would be big!

Energy Spell

Is basically putting all your energy into an intention, it could drain you a little bit so if you’re doing it, give you a self care time after.

Bag/Bottle Spell

This spells are the type of jars/bag/bottle full of different things, they can last longer and you can take them with you to anywhere!

Crystal grid 

A crystal grid is basically placing different crystals in an specific way for all their energies to work together.

I really wish people would tell how real folktales went down. One time I read how the real Two Goats on a bridge to my little cousin. He was shook and the original story was good. The original stories are always good ngl. They get a little dark but they add flavor.

Dont think I mentioned this but a while back I did a tarot reading for my pets. To get a message from them in their perspective. You can tell how different they are from each other. And yes, Peter is the sassy one who hates touch. (He did not have a toxic background he is just sassy.)

So yeah I did a reading for all three of them.

Friendly Reminder: Salt and Casting Circles Outside

Please don’t cast circles using Salt outside, especially in the soil. Salt is absorbent and takes water away from plant life, therefore effectively killing off most things.

There is a reason why in the Ancient Near East (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Armenia, etc), Spain, Portugal, etc it was so common to SALT THE EARTH of conquered cities, or even convicted criminals, to prevent re-inhabitation . It destroys soil nutrients, absorbency, and heavily delays and/or stops plant growth all together.

So please, my Witchy Siblings, seek safer alternatives when working outside. Cast a circle in stones or branches. Draw one into the soil itself. Use a biodegradable material like eggshells instead. But please, do NOT use Salt.

This is why I don't care for paranormal horror movies too much. Don't get me wrong there are some really good ones out there. But almost every paranormal movie some how has to involve a person messing with witchy stuff, taunting/harassing spirits. Or them being terrorized by the spirit. Or even worse people buy old houses/objects that are clearly haunted. And don't know/want to provide help that spirit move on.

Plus sometimes the movie get a lot of things wrong. Or can have a lot of misinformation on how spirits or certain spiritualities are. Especially how satanism, paganism, and witchcraft over all. Like the whole "plain upside down cross"= demonic/satanic stuff. The real satanic cross and the Christian upside down cross are two different things. Stuff like this just takes some research/quick google search.

this one liberal dude on twitter made the (correct) take that parents have overwhelming power over their kids and very often abuse it and restrict children's rights and he was ratio'd by conservatives, communists and liberals alike who made comments like "my kids will have rights when they pay the bills" to "aw are you upset mom and dad didn't you get you a lega set for christmas". way to prove his point lol! any criticism of the power dynamics adults and particularly parents have over kids and how it is often used to abuse kids or refuse to let them exist as themselves is drowned in mockery and the idea that parents have absolute authority over children and that any less than that is actually spoiling them.

i said it before: people only care about Children as an ideal. as property. as something that is Innocent and deserving protection From Evil Traffickers but also something Dumb that barely deserves the status of human with autonomy. and its fucking wild how even the staunchest communists think of this as normal, and how people refuse to understand that this dynamic is how kids are emotionally, physically and sexually abused, as well as robbed of their voices and too scared/ashamed to talk about it.
