also, thinking of focusing more on speaking practice. i think i'll just figure it out as i go, but basically, if I can speak (video or recording) instead of reviewing my notes or writing something, then do it. Preferably record videos so you can later compile them similar to the old Japanese video of me that I have. I just don't know how I'll post those with privacy. Maybe dont worry about it? used to the sounds of a new language, but it takes time. If you start speaking only after listening to the language for many hours, your pronunciation will be much better. Please note that this only works if the listening material is made comprehensible through visual clues or vocabulary study.

We assume that it is necessary to forcefully use it a couple of times for this to happen. The silent approach says that hearing this word many times (when you understand it) will make it easier to use it while speaking.

A couple hours a week of speaking practice where you are fumbling your words should be completely overwhelmed by ~7 hours of active listening and some reading. And you should, IMO, add on top of that time doing passive re-listening of material that you used in active listening previously.

Re-listened to dialogue from podcast in order to transcribe English prompts. Then recorded myself responding in Swedish (10 min). Then binged LIB Sweden. Then, instead of transcribing my answers to correct them, I got to practice with my boyfriend instead.
