I have no respect for the author. He's gross around women.
However, I still took away some good historical and geographical information about Korea. Definitely looking forward to reading more thoughtfully written Korean history from more relevant authors.

Read the first 2 chapters a few years ago. Skimmed those today.

A book on fallacies. The ones relating to economics make me laugh.
I think this is day 4 of me reading this book. been reading a little every day but too busy so havent read as much as i would like.

Shit. A classic for a reason. In times of peace and war it acts as a warning which we should all heed. Always pursue knowledge and truth before it is too late.
It was truly a page turner. But don't finish it before bed.
Exactly the kind of book I needed to read. And it has inspired me to read several more related books afterwards.

5-6 days to finish this book (read the afterward on the 6th day).

Decided to take advantage of my first post-15 min study review and make Anki (audio) cards! Happy with this new plan! β
Streak: 1π₯β‘

β I can quickly add text-to-speech audio, and if I want a more natural recording then their manual recording function is also easy to use. I will still create handwritten flashcards, handwrite to review and keep marking my flashcards to keep track of my study-tally.
β‘ Skipped yesterday, but I got a lot of other stuff done and I'm glad I respected my limits. And I learned about how much I can reasonably do in a day (roughly 4 "full" things), so if I want to study language then it's gotta make that list. Or I have to let myself accept a break day if something else needs to be prioritized instead.

Felt tired ~630pm so i thought I would do a 5 min quick study session each then review and be done. Of course with some procrastination mixed in the usual 1.5-2hr session became...A 2HOUR SESSION!
Whatever, at least it was low stress.*
Review took 40min mainly because I was going over some Korean grammar that I hadn't cleared up for myself when I made the flashcards.

*But I might've well have just gone all in. Or maybe set up materials for both languages so that it's easier to switch off - can do two 5min sessions, then decide to go longer and go back to 1st language etc.

A nice overview of the suburban experiment gone wrong and how this isn't the way we have to live and how to change it one small impactful act at a time. With grassroots work we can begin to build our communities as thoughtfully and successfully as our ancestors did. (Read for more than 18days)
Also, I started 1984. It's hard to pull away from.

Working on the process and generally trying to par down, organize, and focus more on language learning. Went longer today. Maybe I'll have a long and short version of studying to use on different occasions. Also, instead of audio flashcards like I bothered to make for my Korean study, I think I'll just use timestamps going forward. I still need to do my 1hr post-study review.

Realized I need to bring my listening practice back.
Also, would like to start recording the selected audios for my flashcards so that I have a Native Speaker reference as I review each day. (This may also help account for my listening practice.)

So, this is what I've got completed today (just one set of cards). But I have a bunch of other flashcards on hold bc I made too many and was too ambitious. Will study some of those tomorrow too.

Inspired by these tough long Korean story sentences, thinking about getting this TTMIK book and adding it to rotation: https://talktomeinkorean.com/product/buildextend/ (Google e-book or physical book, that is the question.)

about to review once my 50min timers go off. Then i'll be done for the day. (can read in the meantime)
It's hard to keep up with my streak bc i seem to have been studying every other day or so. However, so far I like this method and have felt the most consistent with it. I'll start my streak over today and then see if I want to keep tracking it.
Will only review tomorrow since I now have two sets of review cards (see the plan for the week picture).
